An energy dispersive micro X-ray diffractometer based on a combined system of polycapillary optics

An energy dispersive micro X-ray diffractometer based on a combined system of two polycapillary X-ray lenses is designed. The polycapillary X-ray lens in the excitation channel is either a polycapillary parallel X-ray lens (PPXRL) or a slightly focusing polycapillary X-ray lens (SFPXRL). The polycapillary X-ray lens in the detection channel is a PPXRL. At 6.4 keV and 2θ = 141.5°, the total resolution of the diffractometer based on a SFPXRL in the excitation channel and a PPXRL in the detection channel in Δd/d is 4.8%.     

The Transformation of Carbides during Austenization and Its Effect on the Wear Resistance of High Speed Steel Rolls

The transformation of carbides with austenization time of a high speed steel (HSS) roll material, manufactured by a centrifugal casting method, has been studied. The correlation between wear resistance and the type, morphology, volume fraction, and distribution of the carbides has also been investigated. Microstructural observations, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, hardness measurements, and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) have been used to characterize the carbides. The type and volume fraction of carbides were found to change with austenizing time. During austenization, the transformation of the M₃C carbides can be postulated as M₃C + γ-Fe → M₂C, with much finer nodular and rodlike MC carbides also forming through a solid-state transformation. The M₂C carbide decomposes as M₂C + γ-Fe → MC + M₇C₃ + M₆C. The decomposed carbide substantially maintains a platelike shape until the end of decomposition. The most important finding of this study is that austenization results in changes in the type, morphology, volume fraction, and distribution of carbides and that it can be controlled to produced a homogeneous distribution of hard carbides, resulting in an improvement in the wear resistance of HSS rolls. This finding may be of great use for the industrial production of HSS rolls.

西门子S7-200可编程控制器在气化油点火技术中的应用

以西门子S7—200PLC为核心。利用火检探头。温度、压力等传感器，结合STEP 7 MicmwIN V3．1以及ProTool Pro CS工业组态软件完成了对点火过程的自动控制。实现了西门子S7—200PLC在大型发电厂410吨级蒸汽锅炉“气化油直接点燃煤粉技术”中的应用。提高了锅炉点火系统运行的自动化水平。     

Optimal phases for a family of quadriphase CDMA sequences

Signature sequences with good even even and odd (or polyphase) correlations are crucial for asynchronous code-division multiple access (CDMA). When the data sequence is random, the even and odd (or polyphase) correlations are equally important. However, for most known signature sequences, only their even correlations were analyzed. It appears that determining the odd (or the polyphase) correlations is generally a very hard problem since the odd (or the polyphase) correlations depend on the phases of the signature sequences. Sole (1989), Boztas, Hammons, and Kumar (1992) found a family of quadriphase sequences that are asymptotically optimal. These sequences gain a factor √2 in terms of their maximum periodic even correlations when compared with the best possible binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) sequences. We find the optimal phases of these sequences. The optimality is in the sense that at these phases, the mean square values of the even, odd, and the polyphase correlations are minimal, and achieve the Welch (1974) bound-equality simultaneously. Furthermore, we show that at these phases, the average user interference of these sequences is always smaller than that of the ideal random signature sequences. Comprehensive analytical and numerical results show that good phase sequences can offer a nonnegligible amount of gain over bad phase sequences at modest and high signal-to-noise ratios

Analogue implementation of a neural network controller for UPSinverter applications

An analogue neural-network controller for UPS inverter applications is presented. The proposed neural-network controller is trained off-line using patterns obtained from a simulated controller, which had an idealized load-current-reference. Simulation results show that the proposed neural-network controller can achieve low total harmonic distortion under nonlinear loading condition and good dynamic responses under transient loading condition. To verify the performance of the proposed NN controller, a hardware inverter with an analogue neural network (NN) controller (using mainly operational amplifiers and resistors) is built. Additionally, for comparison purposes, a PI controller with optimized parameters is built. Experimental results confirm the simulation results and show the superior performance of the NN controller especially under rectifier-type loading condition. Implementing the analogue neural-network controller using programmable integrated circuits is also discussed     

Nonregular feedback linearization: a nonsmooth approach

In this note, we address the problem of exact linearization via nonsmooth nonregular feedback. A criterion of nonregular static state feedback linearizability is presented for a class of nonlinear affine systems with two control inputs, and its application to nonholonomic systems is briefly discussed.
