Clutter suppression method for heterogeneous environment

Clutter suppression is a key process in ground moving target indication (GMTI). Adaptive filtering is an effective method for clutter suppression but the performance degrades severely in heterogeneous clutter environment. To solve this problem, a new clutter suppression method is proposed. The approach uses subspace tracking technique to update clutter subspace of different clutter patches which may mitigating the heterogeneous effects. Simulation results illustrate that the method performs well when lacking of the independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) samples.

无废开采是一个全新的概念，是21世纪所普遍关注的议题，文中首先简述了无废开采的定义和实行无废开采的意义，然后根据公司的现状论述了其实行无废开采的必要性和可行性，随后通过对其尾砂充填采矿研究，选矿浸渣处理与铅锌提取工艺试验，以及矿山采掘废石资源化措施等方面的介绍，叙述了该公司实施无废开采主要的措施与方法，最后对其无废开采的效果作了客观的评价。     

用钛酸正丁酯合成钛交联层柱蒙脱土的研究

以提纯钠化后的精制钠基膨润土为基质(d_(001)=1.28 nm),以钛酸正丁酯[Ti(n-C_4H_9O)_4]为钛源,制备了一系列钛交联层柱蒙脱土(Ti-PILCs)；并对Ti/土比、H/Ti(摩尔比)等主要合成条件进行了考察。XRD检测结果表明,当Ti/土=15 mmol/g,H/Ti=2.5 mol/mol,c(HCl)=5 mol/L,室温下交联,可制得层间距d_(001)值达3.59 nm的Ti-PILCs,且比表面可达409.1 m~2/g。     

Assessment of human–machine interface design for a Chinese nuclear power plant

A nuclear power plant (NPP) is a complex system but requires high reliability. The human–machine interface (HMI) design plays very important role in reactor safety. This paper describes an assessment on HMI design of a Chinese NPP, using a software system named Dynamic Interaction Analysis Support (DIAS). DIAS can give not only quantitative indices for dynamically assessing the HMI design, but also allow modify the values of these indices by taking into account human error probability during specified emergent operation procedures. The operation procedures dealing with postulated accidents and transients recorded from a full-scale plant simulator in the training center of a Chinese NPP were selected as references. According to the results of simulation and analysis, the potential problems in the HMI design and the operation procedures were detected. Suggestions to improve the HMI design and the operation procedures were addressed.

Overexpression of OsCASP1 Improves Calcium Tolerance in Rice

The Casparian strip domain protein 1 (OsCASP1) is necessary for the formation of the Casparian strip (CS) in the rice endodermis. It also controls Ca²⁺ transport to the stele. Here, we demonstrated that OsCASP1 overexpression enhanced Ca tolerance in rice. Under normal conditions, OsCASP1-overexpressed lines showed similar concentrations of essential metals in the roots and shoots compared to the wild type, while under high Ca conditions, Ca in the roots, shoots, and xylem sap of the OsCASP1-overexpressed lines was significantly decreased. This did not apply to other essential metals. Ca-inhibited growth was significantly alleviated in the OsCASP1-overexpressed lines. Furthermore, OsCASP1 overexpression resulted in earlier formation of both the CS and functional apoplastic barrier in the endodermis but did not induce ectopic CS formation in non-endodermal cell layers and affect suberin accumulation in the endodermis. These results indicate that the overexpression of OsCASP1 promotes CS formation in endodermal cells and inhibits Ca²⁺ transport by the apoplastic pathway, restricting Ca accumulation in the roots and shoots under high Ca conditions. Taken together, the results suggest that OsCASP1 overexpression is an effective way to improve rice adaptation to high Ca environments.

Time-domain finite-element modeling of dispersive media

A general formulation is described for time-domain finite-element modeling of electromagnetic fields in a general dispersive medium. The formulation is based on the second-order vector wave equation and incorporates the dispersion effect of a medium via a recursively evaluated convolution integral. This evaluation is kept to second order in accuracy using linear interpolation within each time step. Numerical examples are given to validate the proposed formulation
