Green synthesis of nanoparticles is regarded as a safe and non-toxic process whereas conventional synthesis using chemical methods produces toxic substance. This study provides a novel insight for enzymatic synthesis method of silver nanoparticles using purple acid phosphatase, isolated from Limonia acidissima (wood apple) as a new source and used in the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Stable silver nanoparticles were produced by sonochemical method using apoenzyme as a stabilising and capping agent and were characterised by various physicochemical techniques like UV–Visible spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. X-ray study shows that nanoparticles are composed of silver and silver oxide. The synthesised nanoparticles exhibited excellent antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.  相似文献

Nickel alloys are extensively used in aerospace, automotive, marine, nuclear, petro-chemical and food processing industries due to properties like high strength, resistance to heat, resistance to corrosion, etc. However, machining of these alloys pose many challenges in machining such as: work hardening, high temperatures at the cutting zone, rapid tool wear, reduced tool-life, etc. Attempts are made to overcome these challenges by using various cryogenic techniques. This paper, therefore discusses different techniques such as cryogenic cooling, cryogenic treatment of tool and simultaneous use of cryogenic cooling of tool and heating of workpiece (hybrid technique) and their effects on machinability of Nickel alloys with the help of indicators like tool-life, surface roughness, residual stresses, etc. It is concluded that cryogenic techniques are helpful in improving the machining performance by way of improvement in tool-life and surface quality. This happens due to better cooling by cryogen and improved tool properties after cryogenic treatment. However, based on the published works, it is not possible to decide about the following: correct amount of cryogen required for cooling, appropriate cryogenic tool treatment cycle to be used and the best parameters for machining of Nickel alloys. Therefore, future research should focus on these aspects.  相似文献

We have applied the novel method of hot filament-activated chemical vapour deposition (HFCVD) for low-temperature deposition of a variety of nitride thin films. In this paper the results from our recent work on aluminium, silicon and titanium nitride have been reviewed. In the HFCVD method a hot tungsten filament (1500–1850°C) was utilised to decompose ammonia in order to deposit nitride films at low substrate temperatures and high rates. The substrate temperatures ranged from 245 to 600°C. The film properties were characterised by a number of analytical and optical methods. The effect of various deposition conditions on film properties was studied. All the films obtained were of high chemical purity and had very low or no detectable tungsten contamination from the filament metal.  相似文献

In the present work, PPy, ZnO, and polypyrrole/zinc oxide (PPy/ZnO) microcomposites (1, 2, and 5 wt%) were prepared and their properties have been tuned for anticorrosion applications on low carbon mild steel. The synthesized products: ZnO, PPy, and composites were characterized by various sophisticated analytical techniques such as XRD, FTIR, Raman, FESEM, EDX, UV–VIS, TGA, and BET. The band frequencies observed at 480 and 588 cm−1 in FTIR spectrum correspond to stretching vibrations of Zn-O and N-H bonds, respectively, broadening of the bands in the composites indicate strong interactions between ZnO and PPy matrix. The potentiodynamic polarization study of PPy and PPy/ZnO composite was carried out in 3.5% NaCl solution to investigate the corrosion resistance efficiency. PPy/1 wt% ZnO (Icorr = 190 nA) composite coating on low carbon mild steel was observed to exhibit best corrosion protection property compared to PPy (121 μA), 2 and 5 wt% ZnO (242, 295 nA) composites. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The effect of addition of pregastric lipase enzyme on the accelerated ripening of white pickled cheese was investigated. Commercial pregastric lipase was added to milk before rennet addition at a level of 0,5, 8, 11 g per 100 L of milk and cheeses were made from this milk. Total solids, fat, total nitrogen, salt, titratable acidity, pH and free fatty acids (C2-C18:1) were analysed in the samples during 1–90 days of ripening period at 15 days intervals. Total solids, fat, total nitrogen, salt, titratable acidity, and pH of cheeses slightly increased during the ripening period. Free fatty acids and volatile free fatty acid contents in cheeses made from pregastric lipase added milk were affected by pregastric lipase and their contents were increased significantly (P<0.01) during the ripening period. Particularly, when cheese had a high level (11 g per 100 L milk) pregastric lipase, the amounts of butyric, caproic and caprylic acids in white pickled cheese were quite high. The relative amounts of volatile free fatty acids varied with storage time and pregastric lipase levels.  相似文献

The effect of starting SiC powder (β-SiC or α-SiC), with simultaneous additions of Al2O3 and Y2O3, on the microstructural evolution of liquid-phase-sintered (LPS) SiC has been studied. When using α-SiC starting powder, the resulting microstructures contain hexagonal platelike α-SiC grains with an average aspect ratio of 1.4. This anisotropic coarsening is consistent with interface energy anisotropy in α-SiC. When using β-SiC starting powder, the β→α phase transformation induces additional anisotropy in the coarsening of platelike SiC grains. A strong correlation between the extent of β→α phase transformation, as determined using quantitative XRD analysis, and the average grain aspect ratio is observed, with the maximum average aspect ratio reaching 3.8. Based on these observations and additional SEM and TEM characterizations of the microstructures, a model for the growth of these high-aspect-ratio SiC grains is proposed.  相似文献

Chatter is a topic of immense engineering importance because its occurrence in machining results in poor surface finish, promotes tool wear and hampers productivity. In this paper, a single degree of freedom, delay differential equation model is presented. The central idea of the model is the study of regenerative chatter effect, which qualitatively explains the nonlinear dynamics in machining. Stability charts are derived for the linearized case in a two dimensional phase plane (μ, Ω) with the bifurcation parameter μ representing the dynamic variation of the chip thickness, and the critical rotational speed Ω. The governing nonlinear equations are integrated in time by Adams Predictor corrector Method. Phase portraits are drawn between the instantaneous tool position x1 and the relative tangential velocity x2. It has been shown that in the absence of a cubic nonlinearity, the chatter response appears to be more chaotic.  相似文献
