To conduct proficiency testing for the analysis of pesticide residues in processed foods, fortified samples of retort curry and pancake were examined. In the case of retort curry, heating and mixing were necessary at the time of preparation to provide a homogenous analytical sample. A mixture of 4 carbamates and 11 organophosphorus pesticides was spiked and 14 of them showed consistent results in the samples. In the case of pancake, 10 kinds of pesticides were added to the pastry. The prepared pastry was them cooked. The relative concentrations of most of the pesticides in the pancake were not affected and all the pesticides showed consistent results in the samples. These results showed that the two tested samples were suitable for proficiency testing. 相似文献

This work aims to improve the rheological properties and stability of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)/acrylamide (AA) base skeleton polymer blends at harsh environment of high salinity-high temperature (HS-HT) or various pH. Different co/terpolymers have been accomplished to modify the structure of AA polymer by free-radical copolymerization of AA-based monomers. Anionic, cationic, and hydrophobic functional groups were used for the synthesis of polyelectrolyte, polyampholytic, and partially hydrophobic AA polymer types. The conversion, molecular weight, and poly dispersity of co/terpolymers have been evaluated by nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), gel permeation chromatography, and differential scanning calorimetry analysis. The effects of sonication power, concentration of polymer, and concentration of MWCNTs were also investigated on rheological behavior of co/terpolymers. The results show that negative polyelectrolyte and polyampholytic polymers are the best candidates for the improvement of MWCNTs/polymer stability and viscosity at HS-HT and alkali environment, respectively. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A 720 mm diameter 12-segment-bonded carbon-fiber-reinforced silicon carbide (C/SiC) composite mirror has been fabricated and tested at cryogenic temperatures. Interferometric measurements show significant cryogenic deformation of the C/SiC composite mirror, which is well reproduced by a model analysis with measured properties of the bonded segments. It is concluded that the deformation is due mostly to variation in coefficients of thermal expansion among segments. In parallel, a 4-degree-of-freedom ball-bearing support mechanism has been developed for cryogenic applications. The C/SiC composite mirror was mounted on an aluminum base plate with the support mechanism and tested again. Cryogenic deformation of the mirror attributed to thermal contraction of the aluminum base plate via the support mechanism is highly reduced by the support, confirming that the newly developed support mechanism is promising for its future application to large-aperture cooled space telescopes. 相似文献

Expansion of the amino-acid repertoire with synthetic derivatives introduces novel structures and functionalities into proteins. In this study, we improved the antigen binding of antibodies by incorporating halogenated tyrosines at multiple selective sites. Tyrosines in the Fab fragment of an anti-EGF-receptor antibody 059–152 were systematically replaced with 3-bromo- and 3-chlorotyrosines, and simultaneous replacements at four specific sites were found to cause a tenfold increase in the affinity toward the antigen. Structure modeling suggested that this effect was due to enhanced shape complementarity between the antigen and antibody molecules. On the other hand, we showed that chlorination in the constant domain, far from the binding interface, of Rituximab Fab also increased the affinity significantly (up to 17-fold). It is known that the high electronegativity of fluorine affects various soft tissues, especially the bone structure in
organisms. Of these tissues are the kidneys, which play an important role in the excretion of fluoride from the body.
Fluoride affects many cellular mechanisms. One of these effects is DNA damage. Our study aimed to investigate the
likely protective effect of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) on genomic DNA damage-induced NaF depending on
concentration and time. The IC25 and IC50 values of NaF for 3, 12 and 24 h and optimum dose of increase in
proliferation to vitamin D3 through MTT assay in NRK-52E kidney cells were determined. DNA damage was
significantly increased (p < 0.05) compared to the control group in all groups except for vitamin D3. It was
determined that treatment with NaF together with vitamin D3 decreased the DNA damage compared to NaF treated
groups for 3 and 12 h. NaF combined with vitamin D3 was determined statistically to decrease (p < 0.05) DNA
damage compared to NaF treated groups for 24 h. As a result, it was determined that the treatment with cytotoxic
concentration NaF depending on the time significantly increased (p < 0.05) the genomic DNA damage, but NaF
treatment together with vitamin D3 decreased the DNA damage in renal cells depending on the time. It was
concluded that vitamin D3 may be useful in preventing DNA damage caused by NaF. 相似文献

OBJECTIVES: This study investigated effects of acute plasma volume expansion on plasma levels and urinary output of two endogenous Na,K-ATPase inhibitors, marinobufagenin-like and ouabain-like immunoreactive substances. METHODS: Plasma volume was expanded for 3 h via intravenous saline infusion in three groups of anesthetized dogs--nontreated (n = 5); pretreated with rabbit antidigoxin (n = 5); and pretreated with rabbit antimouse (control) antibody (n = 4). RESULTS: Plasma marinobufagenin-like immunoreactivity increased to 11.87 +/- 3.16 nmol.l-1 (vs. 0.30 +/- 0.16 nmol.l-1) within 10 min of volume expansion, in parallel with a 15% increase in LVdP/dt, then decreased to 2.21 +/- 0.59 nmol.l-1, and in 90 min increased to 11.8 +/- 2.8 nmol.l-1, in parallel with the maximal natriuretic response. Plasma concentrations of ouabain-like immunoreactive material were increased after 90 min of saline infusion (0.019 +/- 0.004 nmol.l-1 vs. 0.139 +/- 0.056 nmol.l-1). Pretreatment of the animals with antidigoxin antibody blocked the positive inotropic and reduced natriuretic response to volume expansion, and decreased the urinary release of marinobufagenin-like, but not ouabain-like, material. CONCLUSIONS: These results show the presence of marinobufagenin-like immunoreactive substance in dog plasma and suggest that mammalian EDLF may have a bufodienolide nature. Endogenous marinobufagenin-like immunoreactive substance, which is likely to cross-react with antidigoxin antibody, is involved in the natriuretic and positive inotropic responses to plasma volume expansion. 相似文献
