We have investigated the photo-induced in-plane anisotropy of the films of two different polyimides (PIs) containing azobenzene in the backbone structure (Azo-PIs), which were synthesized from the same diamine, 4, 4′-diaminoazobenzene (DAAB), and two different dianhydrides, pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) or oxydiphthalic anhydride (ODPA). Under the same photo-alignment condition, the in-plane anisotropy of the ODPA–DAAB PI film was significantly larger than that of the PMDA–DAAB PI film. This result shows that the photo-alignment efficiency of the former is higher than that of the latter; i.e. the photo-alignment efficiency of Azo-PI can be improved by changing the backbone structure. We believe that the observed enhancement in the photo-alignment efficiency is attributed to a lowering of the polymer chain rigidity, which is caused by introducing an ether linkage with free rotation around non-parallel bonds into the dianhydride part.  相似文献

The interactions of bis-2-(2-pyridylazo)-1-naphthol Co(III), [Co(III) (αPAN)2+], with five kinds of synthetic polyelectrolytes have been studied by spectrophotometric and transient electric dichroism measurements. The polyelectrolytes were: poly(styrene sulphonic acid) (PSS); poly(acrylic acid) (PAA); poly(l-glutamic acid) (PLG); poly(Ne,Ne-dicarboxylmethyl-l-lysine (PDCML); and poly(l-lysine) (PLL). The equilibrium constant of the reaction:
with P = polyelectrolyte residue was determined spectrophotometrically: K1 is > 107 M?1 (PSS); (1.4 ± 0.2) × 104 M?1 (PAA); (4.0 ± 0.4) × 103 M?1 (PLG); (1.4 ± 0.2) × 106 M?1 (PDCML); and < 102 M?1 (PLL) at pH 6–8. From transient electric dichroism, the angle (ψ) between the αPAN plane and the polymer axis was determined to be 65° (PSS); 52° (PAA); 55° (PLG); and 52° (PDCML). The large K1 and ψ values for PSS are ascribed to the hydrophobic interaction between the aromatic αPAN ring and the styrene sulphonate residues of PSS. Using stopped-flow electric dichroism measurements, rapid transfer of a bound Co(III) chelate from the PDCML to PSS chains was shown to occur.  相似文献

Many photocatalyst materials for water splitting have been developed, particularly since the second half of the 1990s. Highly efficient water splitting on tantalate photocatalysts under UV irradiation has been achieved. Moreover, band engineering by doping, valence band formation, and synthesis of solid solutions, has led to the development of a large number of visible light-driven photocatalysts for H2H2 or O2O2 evolution from aqueous solutions containing electron donors or acceptors. Z-scheme photocatalyst systems for water splitting to H2H2 and O2O2 under visible light irradiation have been developed. This progress in the development of visible light-driven photocatalysts for water splitting is reviewed.  相似文献

This paper describes external reference management and distributed unification in a distributed implementation of a concurrent logic programming language KL1. This implementation is based on the KLIC system. KLIC has a feature calledgeneric objects that enable easy modification and extension of the system without changes in the core implementation. This distributed implementation is built upon the same core and external references are represented using generic objects. Unification operations are defined as methods of generic objects. Since creation of interprocessor reference loops cannot be avoided, we studied a new unification scheme that can cope with interprocessor reference loops. We built several experimental distributed systems that all demonstrate reasonable efficiency.  相似文献

Bridgman directional solidification of investment castings is a key technology for the production of reliable and highly efficient gas turbine blades. In this paper, a mathematical model for three-dimensional (3D) simulation of solidification process of single crystal investment castings was developed based on basic heat transfer equations. Complex heat radiation among the multiple blade castings and the furnace wall was considered in the model. Temperature distribution and temperature gradient in superalloy investment castings of single blade and multiple ones were investigated, respectively. The calculated cooling curves were compared with the experimental results and agreed well with the latter. It is indicated that the unsymmetrical temperature distribution and curved liquid-solid interface caused by the circle distribution of multiple turbine blades are probably main reasons why the stray grain and other casting defects occur in the turbine blade.  相似文献

The fatigue crack propagation rate and the fatigue threshold were investigated for transverse-butt-welded joints of the austenitic stainless steel SUS304. Specimens were of the center-cracked type. In three sets of tests the fatigue crack passed through the weld metal, and in the other two sets, through the base metal. The fatigue crack propagation properties coincided with each other at different stress ratios for the weld metal, and at the higher stress ratios for the base metal. The propagation properties improved at the stress ratio of zero for the base metal. The absence of a stress ratio effect means that the coincided properties are basic ones in which fatigue crack closure does not occur. However, fractographic appearance and surface roughness were quite different between weld metal and base metal. The coincidence of fatigue crack propagation properties in spite of the difference in fractographic features reveals that the fractographic appearance and surface roughness only have a minor effect on basic fatigue crack propagation behaviour.  相似文献

Investigations were conducted on the VFT (Very Fast Transient) surges that propagate into a 500‐kV transformer. The disconnector restriking surge and ground fault surged were discussed. It was regarded that a large part of the surge voltage was applied just at the entrance of the transformer winding for the VFT surges. Thus, an equivalent circuit that models the windings was used for the analysis. The overvoltages that appear between the first winding sections at the entrance of the transformer were computed. The following was established. (1) The overvoltage between the first winding sections becomes greater when the magnitude of the voltage change at the transformer terminal is larger. The overvoltage between the first winding sections is not affected by the magnitude of the transformer terminal voltage. (2) For the disconnectors that are not connected directly to the transformer, the voltage change at the transformer terminal is not so large. (3) In the case of a ground fault at the GIS near the transformer, the voltage change at the transformer terminal is the same as that for a disconnector directly connected to the transformer. (4) In actual GIS, the disconnector that is connected directly to the transformer is not usually used. In this situation, the overvoltages that threaten the transformer insulation will not be generated by the restriking of the disconnectors. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The molecular alignment of polydiacetylene (PDA) derivatives and their optical and electrical properties of thin films based on PDA derivatives have been studied. The PDA derivatives were aligned depending on the direction of applied shear stress in the film. From measurements of the polarized absorption and current–voltage characteristics, the optical and electrical anisotropies have been observed, that was discussed by taking the PDA main chain alignment into consideration.  相似文献

Phosphonium salts with different alkyl chains as substituents were incorporated covalently on the surfaces of cellulose filters with silane coupling agents containing phosphonium ions, and their surface antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were explored by the viable cell-counting method in sterile distilled water. The filters incorporating phosphonium biocides showed higher antibacterial activity, and its activity strongly depended on the structure of substituents. The surface-treated filters may be used to sterilize air and water, including microorganisms. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献
