X-ray reflectivity combined with grazing incidence diffraction is a valuable tool for investigating organic multilayer structures that can be used in devices. We focus on a bilayer stack consisting of two materials (poly-(3-hexylthiophene)) (P3HT) and poly-(4-styrenesulfonic acid) (PSSA) spin cast from orthogonal solvents (water in the case of PSSA and chloroform or toluene for P3HT). X-ray reflectivity is used to determine the thickness of all layers as well as the roughness of the organic–organic hetero-interface and the P3HT surface. The surface roughness is found to be consistent with the results of atomic force microscopy measurements. For the roughness of P3HT/PSSA interface, we observe a strong dependence on the solvent used for P3HT deposition. The solvent also strongly impacts the texturing of the P3HT crystallites as revealed by grazing incidence diffraction. When applying the various PSSA/P3HT multilayers in organic thin-film transistors, we find an excellent correlation between the determined interface morphology, structure and the device performance.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The conversion of n-octane on Pt/Al2O3 catalyst was found to pass through pronounced maxima with the variation of the partial pressure of hydrogen at temperatures between 420°C-460°C, PN = 7·63 × 10-3 atm and W/F = 0·11lg min cm-3. The products of reaction were hydrocracked products, octane, ethylbenzene, o-.p-,m,-xylene and toluene. The order of appearance of the optimum PH for the various reactions were: Isooctane>Dehydrocyclized products>Hydrocracked products.

A sequence of elementary steps earlier postulated was found to predict the maximum in the n-octane PH profiles for the three temperatures investigated. The rate determining steps for the two rate equations that were found suitable were conversion of adsorbed isooctane to adsorbed o-xylene and ethylbenzene.  相似文献

Magnetically labelled cells are used for in vivo cell tracking by MRI, used for the clinical translation of cell-base therapies. Studies involving magnetic labelled cells may include separation of labelled cells, targeted delivery and controlled release of drugs, contrast enhanced MRI and magnetic hyperthermia for the in situ ablation of tumours. Dextran-coated super-paramagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) ferumoxides are used clinically as an MR contrast agents primarily for hepatic imaging. The material is also widely used for in vitro cell labelling, as are other SPIO-based particles. Our results on the uptake by human cancer cell lines of ferumoxides indicate that electroporation in the presence of protamine sulphate (PS) results in rapid high uptake of SPIO nanoparticles (SPIONs) by parenchymal tumour cells without significant impairment of cell viability. Quantitative determination of cellular iron uptake performed by colorimetric assay is in agreement with data from the literature. These results on intracellular iron content together with the intracellular distribution of SPIONs by magnetic force microscopy (MFM) following in vitro uptake by parenchymal tumour cells confirm the potential of this technique for clinical tumour cell detection and destruction.  相似文献

A mathematical model that adequately predicts the effluent concentration and breakthrough profiles of aromatic and sulphur compounds in kerosene deodorisation has been developed. The contributions of radial transport (pore and surface diffusion) were incorporated in the mathematical formulations. Thus, the final model took into account the overall effect of both the solid and liquid phase mass transfer resistances. The resulting model expressions were coupled partial differential equations which were resolved into first order ordinary differential equations using the orthogonal collocation technique. The roots of the Jacobi orthogonal polynomials (PN,β) with N=8 and =β=0 were taken as the interior collocation points while the exterior points were ζ=1, z=0 and z=1. The fourth-order Runge Kutta method was then used to integrate the 4N differential equations and the resulting functions were solved simultaneously to obtain the effluent and breakthrough profiles. Theoretical predictions from the model were compared with column adsorption data to ascertain the authenticity of the model. The agreement was good for both cases of aromatics and sulphur breakthroughs. The experimental breakthrough time of 8 h was predicted by the model. The breakthrough profiles also confirmed the formation of multiple adsorption layers.  相似文献

Callus cell cultures of Arabidopsis thaliana exposed to hypergravity (8×g), 2D clinorotation and random positioning exhibit changes in gene expression (Martzivanou et al., Protoplasma 229:155–162, 2006). In a recent investigation we could show that after 2 h of exposure also the protein complement shows treatment-related changes which are indicative for reactive oxygen species being involved in the perception of/response to changes in the gravitational field. In the present study we have extended these investigations for a period of up to 16 h of exposure. We report on changes in abundance of 28 proteins which have been identified by nano HPLC-ESI-MS/MS, and which were altered in amount after 2 h of treatment. According to changes between 2 and 16 h we could distinguish four groups of proteins which either declined, increased from down-regulated to control levels, showed a transient decline or a transient increase. With regard to function, our data indicate stress relief or adaptation to a new gravitational steady state under prolonged exposure. The latter assumption is supported by the appearance of a new set of 19 proteins which is changed in abundance after 8 h of hypergravity. A comparative analysis of the different treatments showed some similarities in response between 8×g centrifugation and 2D clinorotation, while random positioning showed the least responses.  相似文献
