A systematic study has been carried out to ascertain the effect of cooling rate on structure and mechanical properties of eutectoid steel subjected to a novel incomplete austenitization-based cyclic heat treatment process up to 4 cycles. Each cycle consists of a short-duration holding (6 min) at 775 °C (above A1) followed by cooling at different rates (furnace cooling, forced air cooling and ice-brine quenching). Microstructure and properties are found to be strongly dependent on cooling rate. In pearlitic transformation regime, lamellar disintegration completes in 61 h and 48 min for cyclic furnace cooling. This leads to a spheroidized structure possessing a lower hardness and strength than that obtained in as-received annealed condition. On contrary, lamellar disintegration does not occur for cyclic forced air cooling with high air flow rate (78 m3 h?1). Rather, a novel microstructure consisting of submicroscopic cementite particles in a ‘interweaved pearlite’ matrix is developed after 4 cycles. This provides an enhancement in hardness (395 HV), yield strength (473 MPa) and UTS (830 MPa) along with retention of a reasonable ductility (%Elongation = 19) as compared to as-received annealed condition (hardness = 222 HV, YS = 358 MPa, UTS = 740 MPa, %Elongation = 21). 相似文献

An observer-based adaptive fuzzy backstepping approach is proposed for nonlinear systems with respect to fractional-order differential equations, unmatched uncertainties, unmeasured states, and actuator faults. The approximation capability of fuzzy logic system and minimal learning parameter approaches are applied to identify uncertain functions in a simultaneous manner. For estimating the unavailable conditions, a fuzzy fractional-order state-observer is extended. Applying fault-tolerant approach in a backstepping design methodology would provide a new fault-tolerant adaptive fuzzy output-feedback approach for fractional-order strict-feedback systems. This control structure would assure the considered system stability through selection of the appropriate Lyapunov candidate function. In this work, polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a phase change material (PCM) was incorporated with palygorskite (Pal) clay to develop a novel form-stable composite PCM (F-SCPCM). The Pal/PEG(40 wt%) composite was defined as F-SCPCM and characterized using SEM/EDS, FT-IR, XRD, DSC, and TGA techniques. The DSC results revealed that the F-SCPCM has a melting temperature of 32.5°C and latent heat capacity of 64.3 J/g for thermal energy storage (TES) applications. Thermal cycling test showed that the F-SCPCM had good cycling thermal/chemical stability after 500 cycles. The TGA data proved that that both cycled and non-cycled F-SCPCMs had considerable high thermal durability. Solubility is one of the most indispensable physicochemical properties determining the compatibility of components of a blending system. Research has been focused on the solubility of carbon dioxide in polymers as a significant application of green chemistry. To replace costly and time-consuming experiments, a novel solubility prediction model based on a decision tree, called the stochastic gradient boosting algorithm, was proposed to predict CO2 solubility in 13 different polymers, based on 515 published experimental data lines. The results indicate that the proposed ensemble model is an effective method for predicting the CO2 solubility in various polymers, with highly satisfactory performance and high efficiency. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of additives on the displacement of the onset point of asphaltene precipitation in crude oil using the interfacial tension measurement method, based on the examined oil has been taken from Iran reservoirs. The experimental results suggest that the addition of surfactants of dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid (DBSA) and coconut diethanolamide (CDEA) to the oil has triggered the onset of asphaltene precipitation. These findings imply that CDEA has a more effective role in preventing asphaltene precipitation. Also, it was observed that increasing the concentration of the surfactants has led to obtaining greater results. Finally, critical micelle concentration was calculated to be 5000 and 4700 ppm in the cases of CDEA and DBSA, respectively. 相似文献
