Multiple kernel clustering is an unsupervised data analysis method that has been used in various scenarios where data is easy to be collected but hard to be labeled. However, multiple kernel clustering for incomplete data is a critical yet challenging task. Although the existing absent multiple kernel clustering methods have achieved remarkable performance on this task, they may fail when data has a high value-missing rate, and they may easily fall into a local optimum. To address these problems, in this paper, we propose an absent multiple kernel clustering (AMKC) method on incomplete data. The AMKC method first clusters the initialized incomplete data. Then, it constructs a new multiple-kernel-based data space, referred to as K-space, from multiple sources to learn kernel combination coefficients. Finally, it seamlessly integrates an incomplete-kernel-imputation objective, a multiple-kernel-learning objective, and a kernel-clustering objective in order to achieve absent multiple kernel clustering. The three stages in this process are carried out simultaneously until the convergence condition is met. Experiments on six datasets with various characteristics demonstrate that the kernel imputation and clustering performance of the proposed method is significantly better than state-of-the-art competitors. Meanwhile, the proposed method gains fast convergence speed.  相似文献

This study evaluated the biochemical, molecular, and histopathological mechanisms involved in the hypoglycaemic effect of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) in experimental diabetic rats. ZnONPs were prepared by the sol–gel method and characterised by scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM). To explore the possible hypoglycaemic and antioxidant effect of ZnONPs, rats were grouped as follows: control group, ZnONPs treated group, diabetic group, and diabetic + ZnONPs group. Upon treatment with ZnONPs, a significant alteration in the activities of superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and the levels of insulin, haemoglobin A1c, and the expression of cluster of differentiation 4+ (CD4+), CD8+ T cells, glucose transporter type‐4 (GLUT‐4), tumour necrosis factor, and interleukin‐6 when compared to diabetic and their control rats. ZnONPs administration to the diabetic group showed eminent blood glucose control and restoration of the biochemical profile. This raises their active role in controlling pancreas functions to improve glycaemic status as well as the inflammatory responses. Histopathological investigations showed the non‐toxic and therapeutic effect of ZnONPs on the pancreas. TEM of pancreatic tissues displayed restoration of islets of Langerhans and increased insulin‐secreting granules. An academic conference is not only a venue for publishing papers but also a nursery room for new scientific encounters. While previous research has investigated scientific collaboration mechanisms based on the triadic closure and focal closure, in this paper, we propose a new collaboration mechanism named conference closure. Conference closure means that scholars involved in a common conference may collaborate with each other in the future. We analyze the extent to which scholars will meet new collaborators from both the individual and community levels by using 22 conferences in the field of data mining extracted from DBLP digital library. Our results demonstrate the existence of conference closure and this phenomenon is more remarkable in conferences with high field rating and large scale attendees. Scholars involved in multiple conferences will encounter more collaborators from the conferences. Another interesting finding is that although most conference attendees are junior scholars with few publications, senior scholars with fruitful publications may gain more collaborations during the conference. Meanwhile, the conference closure still holds if we control the productivity homophily. Our study will shed light on evaluating the impact of a conference from the social function perspective based on the index of conference closure.  相似文献

Recently multiserver queues with setup times have been extensively studied because they have applications in power-saving data centers. A challenging model is the M/M/c/Setup queue where a server is turned off when it is idle and is turned on if there are some waiting jobs. Recently, Gandhi et al. (in: Proceedings of the ACM SIGMETRICS, pp. 153–166, ACM, 2013; Queueing Syst. 77(2):177–209, 2014) obtain the generating function of the number of jobs in the system, as well as the Laplace transform of the response time using the recursive renewal reward approach and the distributional Little’s law (Keilson and Servi in Oper Res Lett 7(5):223– 227, 1988). In this paper, we derive exact solutions for the joint stationary queue length distribution of the same model using two alternative methodologies: generating function approach and matrix analytic method. The generating function approach yields exact closed form expressions for the joint stationary queue length distribution and the conditional decomposition formula. On the other hand, the matrix analytic approach leads to an exact recursive algorithm to calculate the joint stationary distribution and performance measures so as to provide some application insights.  相似文献

We propose a simple scheme for selecting objects (either for caching or picking objects that are peers in a peer-to-peer system) to maximize the long-run reward obtained by a system. Our approach does not require a detailed record of the value specific objects add to the system. Therefore, it can be implemented using less computing and memory resources as compared to machine learning and artificial intelligent algorithms. One of the main contributions we make is to show that one can still derive optimal policies. The model that we use and the policy that we present are both applicable in a variety of contexts.  相似文献

We introduce a data structure which provides efficient heap operations with respect to the number of element comparisons performed. Let n denote the size of the heap being manipulated. Our data structure guarantees the worst-case cost of O(1) for finding the minimum, inserting an element, extracting an (unspecified) element, and replacing an element with a smaller element; and the worst-case cost of O(lg n) with at most lg n + 3 lg lg n + O(1) element comparisons for deleting an element. We thereby improve the comparison complexity of heap operations known for run-relaxed heaps and other worst-case efficient heaps. Furthermore, our data structure supports melding of two heaps of size m and n at the worst-case cost of O(min {lg m, lg n}). In this investigation, the headspace volatiles of treacle samples from three different producers were subjected to GC-MS and HPLC analysis in order to assess the variation in their aroma volatile composition and their content of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). The volatile constituents were rich in aliphatic short chain acids, specially acetic acid, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, and furan derivatives. The HMF content varied according to the producer from 66 mg/kg to 179 mg/kg. The present investigation is considered to be the first, which determine the volatile aroma profile and HMF content for treacle.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a cognitive scenario where an energy harvesting secondary user shares the spectrum with a primary user. The secondary source helps the primary source in delivering its undelivered packets during periods of silence of the primary source. The primary source has a queue for storing its data packets, whereas the secondary source has two data queues: a queue for storing its own packets and the other for storing the fraction of the undelivered primary packets accepted for relaying. The secondary source is assumed to be a battery‐based node, which harvests energy packets from the environment. In addition to its data queues, the secondary user has an energy queue to store the harvested energy packets. The secondary energy packets are used for primary packets decoding and data packets transmission. More specifically, if the secondary energy queue is empty, the secondary source can neither help the primary source nor transmit a packet from the data queues. The energy queue is modeled as a discrete‐time queue with Markov arrival and service processes. Because of the interaction of the queues, we provide inner and outer bounds on the stability region of the proposed system. We investigate the impact of the energy arrival rate on the stability region. Numerical results show the significant gain of cooperation.Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Modification at the 5’’-position of 4,5-disubstituted aminoglycoside antibiotics (AGAs) to circumvent inactivation by aminoglycoside modifying enzymes (AMEs) is well known. Such modifications, however, unpredictably impact activity and affect target selectivity thereby hindering drug development. A survey of 5’’-modifications of the 4,5-AGAs and the related 5-O-furanosyl apramycin derivatives is presented. In the neomycin and the apralog series, all modifications were well-tolerated, but other 4,5-AGAs require a hydrogen bonding group at the 5’’-position for maintenance of antibacterial activity. The 5’’-amino modification resulted in parent-like activity, but reduced selectivity against the human cytosolic decoding A site rendering this modification unfavorable in paromomycin, propylamycin, and ribostamycin. Installation of a 5’’-formamido group and, to a lesser degree, a 5’’-ureido group resulted in parent-like activity without loss of selectivity. These lessons will aid the design of next-generation AGAs capable of circumventing AME action while maintaining high antibacterial activity and target selectivity.  相似文献
