A novel quantum series resonant converter (QSRC) topology for a pure sinewave 60 Hz AC chopper is proposed. It has three bidirectional switches and operates at high switching frequency with low switching loss. Bidirectional power flow is possible, and the switches can operate in either zero current switching (ZCS) mode or zero voltage switching (ZVS) mode by slight modification. The QSRC is thought to be suitable for such a system with fixed voltage conversion ratio. The proposed converter is applied to an electronic 220/110 V transformer. An investigation was conducted into the effects of test temperature and loading rate on the initiation of plane strain fracture
of an HY-100 steel. Fracture toughness tests were conducted using fatigue precracked round bars loaded in tension to produce
a quasi-static stress intensity rate of ·K1
= 1 MPa√m/s and a dynamic rate of ·K1 = 2 × 106 MPa√m/s. Testing temperatures covered the range from -150 °C to 200 °C, which encompasses fracture initiation modes involving
quasi-cleavage to fully ductile fracture. The results of toughness tests show that the lower-shelf values of fracture toughness
were substantially independent of loading rate, while the dynamic values exceeded the quasi-static values by about 50 pct
on the upper shelf. In analyzing these results, phenomenological fracture initiation models were adopted based on the requirement
that, for fracture to occur, a critical strain or stress must be achieved over a critical distance. In separate tests, the
observation of microfracture processes was investigated using fractography and anin situ scanning electron microscope (SEM) fracture technique. The layered ppearance of the fracture surfaces was found to be associated
with a banded structure which generally contains many MnS inclusions, probably resulting in a reduction of the fracture toughness

OBJECTIVE: To study the effects of estrogen on transendothelial paracellular permeability in women. METHODS: Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) obtained from women were grown on filters. The paracellular permeability characteristics were determined in terms of changes in the permeability to the polar acid pyranine (Ppyr) and as changes in the transendothelial electrical resistance (RTE). Tight junctional resistance characteristics were assayed by lowering luminal NaCl and measuring the dilution potential, and were expressed as the ratio of monoion mobility uCl/uNa (cation selectivity). RESULTS: Low extracellular calcium and hyperosmolarity increased Ppyr and decreased RTE. The former but not the latter condition abolished the endothelium-specific cation selectivity. Treatment with 10 nM of estradiol-17 beta had no effect on RTE, but it increased the cation selectivity. The effect of estradiol required 1-6 hours' incubation with the hormone; it was dose dependent and saturable, with a median effective concentration of estradiol of 1 nM. Diethylstilbestrol, but not estriol, could mimic the effect of estradiol, and the estrogen receptor antagonist ICI-182, 780 blocked it. CONCLUSION: Cultured HUVEC cells form patent tight junctions. Estrogens increase the cation selectivity across HUVEC cultures. The effect of estrogen may be mediated by an estrogen receptor. These effects may be important for vasculoprotection in cases of sudden changes in ions levels across the capillary wall, such as ischemia or reperfusion. 相似文献

The FE-lspd model is a two-component electron beam model that distinguishes between electrons that can be described by small-angle transport theory and electrons that are too widely scattered for small-angle transport theory to be applicable. The two components are called the primary beam and the laterally scattered primary distribution (lspd). The primary beam component incorporates a simple version of the Fermi-Eyges model and dominates dose calculations at therapeutic depths. The lspd component corrects erros in the lateral spreading of the primary beam component, thereby improving the accuracy by which the FE-lspd model calculates dose distribution in blocked fields. Comparisons were made between dose profiles and central-axis depth dose distributions in small fields calculated by the FE-lspd, Fermi-Eyges and EGS4 Monte Carlo models for a 10 MeV beam in a homogeneous water phantom. The maximum difference between the dose calculated using the FE-lspd model and EGS4 Monte Carlo is about 6% at a field diameter of about 1 cm, and less than 2% for field sizes greater than 3 cm diameter. The maximum difference between the Fermi-Eyges and Monte Carlo calculations is about 18% at a field diameter of about 2.5 cm. A comparison was made with the central-axis depth dose distribution measured in water for a 3 cm diameter field in a 10 MeV clinical electron beam. The errors in the dose distribution were found to be less than 2% using the FE-lspd model but almost 18% using the Fermi-Eyges model. Ultrasound waves interact strongly with the orientation and sequence of the plies in a layup when propagating in the thickness direction of composite laminates. Also the layup orientation greatly influences its properties in a composite laminate. If the layup orientation of a ply is misaligned, it could result in the part being rejected and discarded. Now, most researchers cut a small coupon from the waste edge and use a microscope to optically verify the ply sequences on important parts. This may add a substantial cost to the production since the test is both labor intensive and performed after the part is cured. A nondestructive technique would be very beneficial, which could be used to test the part after curing and requires less time than the optical test. Therefore we have developed, reduced, and implemented a novel ply-by-ply vector decomposition model for composite laminates fabricated from unidirectional plies. This model decomposes the transmission of a linearly polarized ultrasound wave into orthogonal components through each ply of a laminate. High probability is found, by comparisons between the model and tests, in characterizing cured layups of the laminates by using the proposed method. 相似文献

PURPOSE: The aim of the present study was to investigate carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), CA19.9, and CA72.4 in the serum and gastric juice of patients with gastric cancer. METHODS: Serum and gastric juice tumor markers CEA, CA19.9, and CA72.4 were measured in 59 patients who had gastric adenocarcinomas and were undergoing curative gastrectomy. The same markers were measured in 47 patients with benign gastric disorders and in 40 healthy subjects. The correlation between the serum and gastric juice levels of tumor markers and several clinicopathological factors were evaluated by univariate analysis. The significance of the tumor markers as prognostic factors was assessed both by univariate and multivariate analysis. RESULTS: The positivity rates of serum CEA, CA19.9, and CA72.4 were 57.6%, 38.9%, and 18.6% respectively. The positivity rates of gastric juice CEA, CA19.9, and CA72.4 were 62.7%, 30.5%, and 23.7% respectively. The combination of serum and gastric juice markers gave a positivity of 81.3%. There was no correlation between serum and gastric juice level of each tumor marker. Positivity of gastric juice markers did not correlate with prognosis. A significant difference in prognosis was observed between patients positive and negative for serum CEA and CA19.9. Multivariate analysis also revealed that serum CEA and CA19.9 levels were independent prognostic factors. CONCLUSIONS: Levels of both serum and gastric juice tumor markers continue to have only limited diagnostic usefulness in gastric cancer patients. CEA and CA19.9 in the preoperative sera are good prognostic factors, whereas the presence of tumor markers in the gastric juice does not play any prognostic role. 相似文献
