An improved ant colony optimization for scheduling identical parallel batching machines with arbitrary job sizes

In this paper we consider the problem of scheduling parallel batching machines with jobs of arbitrary sizes. The machines have identical capacity of size and processing velocity. The jobs are processed in batches given that the total size of jobs in a batch cannot exceed the machine capacity. Once a batch starts processing, no interruption is allowed until all the jobs are completed. First we present a mixed integer programming model of the problem. We show the computational complexity of the problem and optimality properties. Then we propose a novel ant colony optimization method where the Metropolis Criterion is used to select the paths of ants to overcome the immature convergence. Finally, we generate different scales of instances to test the performance. The computational results show the effectiveness of the algorithm, especially for large-scale instances.

Scheduling a single batch-processing machine with non-identical job sizes in fuzzy environment using an improved ant colony optimization

In this paper, we introduce the fuzzy model of the makespan on a single batch-processing machine with non-identical job sizes. The uncertainty of the jobs and the machine in the processing is denoted using fuzzy logic. Then an improved ant colony optimization (ACO) method is proposed and the Metropolis criterion is used to select the paths of ants to overcome the immature convergence of the algorithm. In the experiment, we adopt the random instances and the results of the fuzzy makespan demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms GA and SA in all instances.     

一种鲁棒的图像局部特征区域的描述方法

提出了一种鲁棒的图像局部特征区域的描述方法,即IWCS-LTP(Improved weighted center symmetric local trinary pattern)描述子.该方法对图像局部特征区域采用类似SIFT描述子的分块处理,可以使描述子包含更多的结构信息; 采用ICS-LTP算子进行编码,可以在不大量增加描述子维数和计算量的同时对图像的梯度方向信息进行更具体的描述; 采用加权纹理谱直方图计算方法可以使描述子包含图像的梯度幅值信息.大量的实验结果验证了该描述子的有效性.

转炉复吹法,由于综合了顶吹法和底吹法的优点,已成为氧气转炉发展的必然。我国转炉复吹技术经过“七五”期间攻关,已为中、小转炉应用复吹法提供了必要的技术和成熟经验。在“八五”期间,建议我国中、小转炉加速推广转炉复吹技术,以提高其技术水平和经济效益。
