The experimental implementation of an adiabatic coupling technique for efficient coupling between photonic crystal single-line defect waveguides and coupled-cavity waveguides is reported. The samples were fabricated in a silicon-on-insulator substrate using 248-nm-deep ultraviolet lithography. Experimental results are compared with three-dimensional (3-D) finite-difference time-domain simulations. Barium titanate (BaTiO3) thin films are prepared by conventional 2-methoxy ethanol-based chemical solution deposition. We report highly c-axis-oriented BaTiO3 thin films grown on silicon substrates, coated with a lanthanum oxynitrate buffer layer of 8.9 nm. The influence of the intermediate buffer layer on the crystallization of BaTiO3 film is investigated. The annealing temperature and buffer layer sintering conditions are optimized to obtain good crystal growth. X-ray diffraction measurements show the growth of highly oriented BaTiO3 thin films having a single perovskite phase with tetragonal geometry. The scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy studies indicate the presence of smooth, crack-free, uniform layers, with densely packed crystal grains on the silicon surface. A BaTiO3 film of 150-nm thickness, deposited on a buffer layer of 7.2 nm, shows a dielectric constant of 270, remnant polarization (2Pr) of 5 μC/cm2, and coercive field (Ec) of 60 kV/cm. 相似文献

We report on compact focusing polarization diversity grating couplers in silicon-on-insulator, which can be used to overcome the polarization dependence of nanophotonic integrated circuits. The minimum fiber-to-fiber polarization dependent loss is 0.4 dB and the focusing grating couplers are as performant as standard 2-D-grating couplers without focusing. In addition, the focusing property of the gratings results in an 8-fold length reduction of the coupling structure as compared to standard nonfocusing 2-D-grating versions. 相似文献

Together with some on-line measurements, a reliable process model is the key ingredient of a successful state observer design. In common practice, the model parameters are inferred from experimental data so as to minimize a model prediction error, e.g. so as to minimize an output least-squares criterion. In this procedure, no care is actually exercised to ensure that the unmeasured model states are sensitive to the measured states. In turn, if sensitivity is too low, the resulting state observer will probably generate poor estimates of the unmeasured states. To alleviate these problems, a new parameter identification procedure is proposed in this study, which is based on a cost function combining a conventional prediction error criterion with a state estimation sensitivity measure. Minimization of this combined cost function produces a model dedicated to state estimation purposes. A thorough analysis of the procedure is presented in the context of bioreactor modeling, including parameter identification, model validation and design of extended Kalman filters and full horizon observers. 相似文献

Athermal arrayed waveguide gratings (AWGs) in silicon-on-insulator (SOI) are experimentally demonstrated for the first time to our knowledge. By using narrowed arrayed waveguides, and then overlaying a polymer layer, the wavelength temperature dependence of the AWGs is successfully reduced to -1.5 pm/°C, which is more than 1 order of magnitude less than that of normal SOI AWGs. The athermal behavior of the AWGs is obtained with little degradation of their performance. For the central channel, the cross talk is less than -15 dB and the insertion loss is around 2.6 dB. Good characteristics can be maintained with temperatures up to 75 °C. The total size of the device is 350 μm × 250 μm. 相似文献

利用分子动力学模拟方法研究了在低能F原子刻蚀SiC表面过程中样品温度对刻蚀的影响。由模拟结果可知,随着温度的升高,F在样品表面的沉积量和散射量均呈下降趋势,而发生溅射的F的量和与样品作用生成挥发物质的F的量逐渐增加。Si的刻蚀量均随着温度的升高而升高。样品中Si原子的刻蚀主要是通过生成SiF4得以实现的,C原子的刻蚀主要是通过生成CFx(x=1~3)等挥发性物质实现的。 相似文献
