CMOS image sensors with logarithmic response are attractive devices for applications where a high dynamic range is required. Their strong point is the high dynamic range. Their weak point is the sensitivity to pixel parameter variations introduced during fabrication. This gives rise to a considerable fixed pattern noise (FPN) that deteriorates the image quality unless pixel calibration is used. In the present work a technique to remove the FPN by employing on-chip calibration is introduced, where the effect of threshold voltage variations in pixels is cancelled. An image sensor based on an active pixel structure with five transistors has been designed, fabricated, and tested. The sensor consists of 525×525 pixels measuring 7.5 μm×10 μm, and is fabricated in a 0.5-μm CMOS process. Commencally or potentially available selective and non-selective absorber surfaces for solar heat collectors are reviewed and the state-of-the-art of solar collector corrosion processes is outlined. The review of available published literature has indicated that a lack of quantitative information exists, relative to corrosion of collector surfaces. Available information (mostly qualitative) on durability aspects and corrosion of solar receiver surfaces is described to indicate potential corrosion problem areas and corrosion prevention possibilities. A two-dimensional model is presented that describes the behavior of argon metastable atoms, copper atoms, and copper ions in an argon direct current glow discharge, in the standard cell of the VG9000 glow discharge mass spectrometer for analyzing flat samples. The model is combined with a previously developed model for the electrons, argon ions, and atoms in the same cell to obtain an overall picture of the glow discharge. The results of the present model comprise the number densities of the described plasma species, the relative contributions of different production and loss processes for the argon metastable atoms, the thermalization profile of the sputtered copper atoms, the relative importance of the different ionization mechanisms for the copper atoms, the ionization degree of copper, the copper ion-to-argon ion density ratio, and the relative roles of copper ions, argon ions, and atoms in the sputtering process. All these quantities are calculated for a range of voltages and pressures. Moreover, since the sticking coefficient of copper atoms on solid surfaces is not well-known in the literature, the influence of this parameter on the results is briefly discussed.  相似文献

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) and plasma-treated liquids (PTLs) have recently become a promising option for cancer treatment, but the underlying mechanisms of the anti-cancer effect are still to a large extent unknown. Although hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has been recognized as the major anti-cancer agent of PTL and may enable selectivity in a certain concentration regime, the co-existence of nitrite can create a synergistic effect. We develop a mathematical model to describe the key species and features of the cellular response toward PTL. From the numerical solutions, we define a number of dependent variables, which represent feasible measures to quantify cell susceptibility in terms of the H2O2 membrane diffusion rate constant and the intracellular catalase concentration. For each of these dependent variables, we investigate the regimes of selective versus non-selective, and of synergistic versus non-synergistic effect to evaluate their potential role as a measure of cell susceptibility. Our results suggest that the maximal intracellular H2O2 concentration, which in the selective regime is almost four times greater for the most susceptible cells compared to the most resistant cells, could be used to quantify the cell susceptibility toward exogenous H2O2. We believe our theoretical approach brings novelty to the field of plasma oncology, and more broadly, to the field of redox biology, by proposing new ways to quantify the selective and synergistic anti-cancer effect of PTL in terms of inherent cell features.  相似文献

In this study, a class of dynamic models based on metabolic reaction pathways is analyzed, showing that systems with complex intracellular reaction networks can be represented by macroscopic reactions relating extracellular components only. Based on rigorous assumptions, the model reduction procedure is systematic and allows equivalent `input-output' representations of the system to be derived. The procedure is illustrated with a few examples, and a comparison is made with another recently published method for generating and evaluating macroscopic reaction schemes.  相似文献

We demonstrate an omnidirectional, retroreflective optical marker in silicon on insulator that enables simultaneous identification and localization of objects. The most important chip requirement - its retroreflectivity - is realized by a large number of equally designed reflective ring resonator circuits, which operate at different angles of the incident light. The markers are characterized by an infrared camera that captures the response during flood exposure by a tunable infrared laser.  相似文献

By using the electrochemical frequency modulation (EFM) technique, the non-linear behavior of a corroding system is measured. This non-linear behavior is likely to be different for a system undergoing uniform or pitting corrosion. The implementation of the EFM technique to detect pitting corrosion has been investigated by observing the fluctuations in the so-called causality factors. These causality factors, resulting from an EFM test and in the ideal case having values of 2 and 3, respectively, are normally used for quality and data validation purposes. While investigating pitting corrosion, they show different behavior leading to the CPT (critical pitting temperature) detection.  相似文献

Using self-consistent Kohn–Sham density-functional theory molecular dynamics simulations, we demonstrate the theoretical possibility to synthesize NiC60, the incarfullerene Ni@C60 and the heterofullerene C59Ni in an ion implantation setup. The corresponding formation mechanisms of all three complexes are elucidated as a function of the ion implantation energy and impact location, suggesting possible routes for selectively synthesizing these complexes.  相似文献

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a challenging neoplastic disease, mainly due to the development of resistance to radio- and chemotherapy. Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is an alternative technology that can eliminate cancer cells through oxidative damage, as shown in vitro, in ovo, and in vivo. However, how CAP affects the pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs), key players in the invasion and metastasis of PDAC, is poorly understood. This study aims to determine the effect of an anti-PDAC CAP treatment on PSCs tissue developed in ovo using mono- and co-cultures of RLT-PSC (PSCs) and Mia PaCa-2 cells (PDAC). We measured tissue reduction upon CAP treatment and mRNA expression of PSC activation markers and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodelling factors via qRT-PCR. Protein expression of selected markers was confirmed via immunohistochemistry. CAP inhibited growth in Mia PaCa-2 and co-cultured tissue, but its effectiveness was reduced in the latter, which correlates with reduced ki67 levels. CAP did not alter the mRNA expression of PSC activation and ECM remodelling markers. No changes in MMP2 and MMP9 expression were observed in RLT-PSCs, but small changes were observed in Mia PaCa-2 cells. Our findings support the ability of CAP to eliminate PDAC cells, without altering the PSCs.  相似文献
