Guarded Al-and Au-nGaAs Schottky barrier diodes were subjected to Co60 ?-ray irradiation and their electrical characteristics evaluated. These GaAs Schottkys did not exhibit significant change in their I-V and C-V characteristics up to an absorbed dose as high as 1.5 × 107 rads. Diodes that were previously neutron-irradiated with consequent degradation were also subjected to Co60 irradiation, but no synergistic changes were observed.  相似文献

Laser deposit welding based on modern ND-YAG lasers is a new mould repair process with advantages relatively to the traditional methods (micro-plasma and TIG methods), namely deposition of small volumes of the filler material without distortion. Residual stresses play a major role on the fatigue and thermal–mechanical fatigue behaviour of welds. This paper presents the experimental results and numerical predictions of the residual stresses in joints manufactured with two hot-working tool steels: X.40.CrMoV.5.1 and 40.CrMnNiMo.8.6.4, in the laser-deposited layer and in the heat-affected zone. Welded specimens were prepared with U notches and filled with ND-YAG laser welding deposits. Trough-depth residual stresses evaluation after laser deposit welding were performed in order to analyse the influence of the residual stress state on fatigue behaviour of mould steels. Both X-ray diffraction sin2γ method (XRD) and incremental hole-drilling technique (IHD) were used in residual stress measurement. Numerical predictions of the residual stress distributions were obtained for several values of the technologic parameters, compared with experimental results and discussed based on the assumptions stated.  相似文献

Photosensitive epilepsy is relatively rare. However, a large proportion of individuals with epilepsy perceive that they are at an increased risk of a seizure whilst exposed to specific photic material. The difference between perceived and real risk may be due to inadequate education and misinformation. One half of the participants in the present survey could not recall being informed of the result of the 'gold standard' test for photosensitivity--intermittent photic stimulation during an electroencephalogram. Furthermore, approximately one-third of our sample were apparently given inaccurate and overcautious advice about their everyday exposure to photic material. Better information and advice is crucial to improve this situation in the future. The majority of people with epilepsy (>95%) who are not photosensitive can pursue activities that involve flickering or patterned light, encompassing educational, employment and leisure opportunities, without undue concern.  相似文献

The in vivo and in vitro pathogenic activities of whole cells and extracellular products of Vibrio alginolyticus for cultured gilt-head sea bream were evaluated. The 50% lethal doses ranged from 5.4 x 10(4) to 1.0 x 10(6) CFU/g of body weight. The strains examined had the ability to adhere to skin, gill, and intestinal mucus of sea bream and to cultured cells of a chinook salmon embryo cell line. In addition, the in vitro ability of V. alginolyticus to adhere to mucus and skin cells of sea bream was demonstrated by scanning electron microscopy. The biological activities of extracellular products of V. alginolyticus were hydrolytic activities; the products were able to degrade sea bream mucus. V. alginolyticus was cytotoxic for fish cell lines and lethal for sea bream. Moreover, the extracellular products could degrade sea bream tissues. However, experiments performed with the bath immersion inoculation technique demonstrated that V. alginolyticus should be considered a pathogen for sea bream only when the mucus layer is removed and the skin is damaged.  相似文献

Fatigue crack propagation tests with single tensile peak overloads have been performed in 6082-T6 aluminium alloy at several baseline ΔK levels and stress ratios of 0.05 and 0.25. The tests were carried out at constant ΔK conditions. Crack closure was monitored in all tests by the compliance technique using a pin microgauge. The observed transient post-overload behaviour is discussed in terms of overload ratio, baseline ΔK level and stress ratio. The crack closure parameter U was obtained and compared with the crack growth transients. Experimental support is given for the hypothesis that plasticity-induced closure is the main cause of overload retardation for plane stress conditions. Predictions based on crack closure measurements show good correlation with the observed crack growth rates for all the post-overload transients when discontinuous closure is properly taken into account.  相似文献

The stability of the intense sweetener neohesperidine dihydrochalcone (DC) has been assessed during yogurt manufacture and storage. No significant decomposition was detected during and after milk pasteurization, the fermentation process and storage for 6 weeks at 3 °C. In addition, the maximum authorized concentration of neohesperidine DC did not affect the rate of acidification by lactic acid bacteria during the fermentation process. Taken together, these results suggest that neohesperidine DC can be added to milk products and will remain stable throughout pasteurization and fermentation processes.  相似文献

The effects of traps in GaAs MESFETs are studied using a pulsed gate measurement system. The devices are pulsed into the active region for a short period (typically 1 μs) and are held in the cutoff region for the rest of a 1-ms period. While the devices are on, the drain current is sampled and a series of pulsed gate I-V curves are obtained. The drain current obtained under the pulsed gate conditions for a given VGS and VDS gives a better representation of the instantaneous current for a corresponding Vgs and Vds in the microwave cycle because of the effects of traps. The static and pulsed gate curves were used in a nonlinear time-domain model to predict harmonic current. The results showed that analysis using pulsed gate curves yielded better predictions of harmonic distortion than analysis based on conventional state I-V curves under large-signal conditions  相似文献

Pulverized coal injection (PCI) is employed in blast furnace tuyeres attempting to maximize the injection rate without increasing the amount of unburned char inside the stack of the blast furnace. When coal is injected with air through the injection lance, the resolidified char will burn in an atmosphere with a progressively lower oxygen content and higher CO2 concentration. In this study an experimental approach was followed to separate the combustion process into two distinct devolatilization and combustion steps. Initially coal was injected into a drop tube furnace (DTF) operating at 1300 °C in an atmosphere with a low oxygen concentration to ensure the combustion of volatiles and prevent the formation of soot. Then the char was refired into the DTF at the same temperature under two different atmospheres O2/N2 (typical combustion) and O2/CO2 (oxy-combustion) with the same oxygen concentration. Coal injection was also performed under a higher oxygen concentration in atmospheres typical for both combustion and oxy-combustion. The fuels tested comprised a petroleum coke and coals currently used for PCI injection ranging from high volatile to low volatile bituminous rank. Thermogravimetric analyses and microscopy techniques were used to establish the reactivity and appearance of the chars.  相似文献
