Electrochemical synthesis of polyaniline (PANI) on aluminum electrode from aqueous solution of 0.25 mol dm−3 aniline and 0.2 mol dm−3 sodium benzoate has been investigated under potentiodynamic and galvanostatic conditions. Initial corrosion behavior of aluminum and PANI coated aluminum electrode exposed to 3% NaCl has been investigated using electrochemical potentiodynamic and impedance spectroscopy technique (EIS). It was shown that PANI coating initially provide corrosion protection of aluminum, decreasing the corrosion current density at least 15 times. 相似文献

General anesthetics mainly act by modulating synaptic inhibition on the one hand (the potentiation of GABA transmission) or synaptic excitation on the other (the inhibition of NMDA receptors), but they can also have effects on numerous other proteins, receptors, and channels. The effects of general anesthetics on ion channels have been the subject of research since the publication of reports of direct actions of these drugs on ion channel proteins. In particular, there is considerable interest in T-type voltage-gated calcium channels that are abundantly expressed in the thalamus, where they control patterns of cellular excitability and thalamocortical oscillations during awake and sleep states. Here, we summarized and discussed our recent studies focused on the CaV3.1 isoform of T-channels in the nonspecific thalamus (intralaminar and midline nuclei), which acts as a key hub through which natural sleep and general anesthesia are initiated. We used mouse genetics and in vivo and ex vivo electrophysiology to study the role of thalamic T-channels in hypnosis induced by a standard general anesthetic, isoflurane, as well as novel neuroactive steroids. From the results of this study, we conclude that CaV3.1 channels contribute to thalamocortical oscillations during anesthetic-induced hypnosis, particularly the slow-frequency range of δ oscillations (0.5–4 Hz), by generating “window current” that contributes to the resting membrane potential. We posit that the role of the thalamic CaV3.1 isoform of T-channels in the effects of various classes of general anesthetics warrants consideration. 相似文献

Manufacturing of bread from rice flour only presents technological difficulty because the rice is gluten-free and gluten is
the most important structure forming protein. By using wheat and rice flour mixture, this problem can be avoided, and end
product is enriched by rice-oil constituents. In this paper fatty acids composition, with an emphasis on total saturated,
and total unsaturated fatty acids, rheological and baking properties of wheat–rice flour mixture (70:30 w/w) were investigated.
The results show that wheat–rice flour mixture has better fatty acids composition with higher content of stearic, arachidic,
lignoceric, oleic, and phthalic acids compared to wheat flour. Also, wheat flour did not include myristic, arachidic, lignoceric
and linolenic acids, so rice flour addition made fatty acids profile richer as number of constituents is higher, nine instead
six. The content of total unsaturated fatty acids content was higher in wheat–brown rice flour mixture than in wheat flour
and in wheat–white rice flour mixture. When rice flour was added to wheat flour the rheological properties were changed: flour
mixture had less water absorption, less degree of softening, longer development time, higher gelatinization temperature, but
better stability and finally, better quality number and group than wheat flour. So, the wheat and rice flour mixture can be

The amount of organic pomace, left behind agricultural processes, is continuously rising in accordance with industrial progress. Grape pomace, generated in the wine industry all over the world, represents a raw material for obtaining valuable products. Grape seeds are especially rich in oil containing bioactive compounds that can have various health‐related effects. The aim of the study is to compare the quality of seed oils obtained from six white grapes, including two Serbian autochthonous varieties. Linoleic acid, associated with numerous health benefits, is the major fatty acid in all samples (≈66% of total); α‐tocopherol is the main tocopherol homologue. Total polyphenol content ranges from 73.4 to 104.3 mg of gallic acid equivalents per 100 g. In order to provide comprehensive information about antioxidant capacity of grape seed oil (GSO), three tests are performed (ferric ion reducing antioxidant power; 2,2’‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl, and 2,2’‐azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzthiazoline‐6‐sulphonic acid) radical scavenging). Antimicrobial activity is investigated against different strains; however, GSO inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. Obtained results are used to develop a novel approach for oil quality assessment. Calculated oil quality scores (OQS) reveal no significant difference between international and autochthonous varieties, although Smederevka stands out as the most potent one. Practical applications : Considering the progressive waste increase in the wine industry and keeping in mind all health‐promoting effects of grape seed oil (GSO), it is clearly observed that oil production represents a profitable and sustainable utilization of grape seeds. The results of the present study show that GSO is a rich source of compounds with antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. In addition, this work provides deeper insight into a quality of Serbian autochthonous grape varieties that are still insufficiently explored. Furthermore, the proposed oil quality score could be used as a comprehensive and unbiased method that enables quality assessment of oils. This tool can find practical application in comparing different plant oils regarding their compositional and functional properties. Over the past three decades, we have been grappling with rapidly accumulating evidence that general anesthetics (GAs) may not be as innocuous for the young brain as we previously believed. The growing realization comes from hundreds of animal studies in numerous species, from nematodes to higher mammals. These studies argue that early exposure to commonly used GAs causes widespread apoptotic neurodegeneration in brain regions critical to cognition and socio-emotional development, kills a substantial number of neurons in the young brain, and, importantly, results in lasting disturbances in neuronal synaptic communication within the remaining neuronal networks. Notably, these outcomes are often associated with long-term impairments in multiple cognitive-affective domains. Not only do preclinical studies clearly demonstrate GA-induced neurotoxicity when the exposures occur in early life, but there is a growing body of clinical literature reporting similar cognitive-affective abnormalities in young children who require GAs. The need to consider alternative GAs led us to focus on synthetic neuroactive steroid analogues that have emerged as effective hypnotics, and analgesics that are apparently devoid of neurotoxic effects and long-term cognitive impairments. This would suggest that certain steroid analogues with different cellular targets and mechanisms of action may be safe alternatives to currently used GAs. In this study, the elastic vibrations of semiconducting cantilevers, which were excited with a frequency-modulated uniform laser beam, were studied theoretically and experimentally. The three-dimensional distributions for the carrier density and temperature were obtained analytically using the Green function method. The elastic bending of a cantilever was given by the theory of a thin rectangular plate. Using an optical interferometric setup, the experimental photothermal signals were investigated near the first resonant frequency and the results showed that the theoretical calculation results were in good agreement with that of the experimental measurement. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate a detailed composition and content of phenolic compounds in fruits of 4 elderberry species (Sambucus nigra, S. cerulea, S. ebulus, and S racemosa) and 8 interspecific hybrids. Hydroxycinnamic acids (HCAs) represented the major share of phenolics in analyzed elderberries; caffeoylquinic and p‐coumaroylquinic acids were most abundant. Flavanols (catechin, epicatechin, and different procyanidins) were the second major phenolic group detected in range from 2% to 30% of total analyzed phenolics. From the group of flavonols, 13 different quercetin glycosides, 7 kaempferol glycosides, and 8 isorhamnetin glycosides have been quantified. Rutin was the major flavonol in all studied genotypes. S. ebulus was characterized by the highest level of total HCAs, catechin, epicatechin, and most flavonols. Some elderberry hybrids, for example JA × RAC, CER × NI, and JA × (JA × NI), are perspective for further studies because they have high content of phenolic compounds. The results of research could contribute to breed cultivars, which may prove interesting for food‐processing industries. 相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a new greedy algorithm developed for communication systems characterized with multiple simultaneous data transmission. Specifically, we consider code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems and systems employing space-time coding (STC). The optimum detection in such systems has an exponential complexity and cannot be used in practical systems. We show that performance close to the optimum performance yet with significantly lower complexity can be achieved by the proposed algorithm. Also, we show that its performance is significantly better than that of most of the existing sub-optimum schemes for a wide range of operating conditions. 相似文献

Currents arising from human alpha1E and alpha1Ebeta3 Ca2+ channel subunits expressed in HEK-293 cells were examined with whole-cell recording methods and compared to properties of T-current in DRG neurons studied under identical ionic conditions. Coexpression of alpha1E subunit with the beta3 subunit shifted activation to more negative potentials. Activation and deactivation of both variants were comparable at most voltages, with deactivation becoming faster, but less voltage-dependent, at more negative potentials. The inactivation time course for alpha1E and alpha1Ebeta3 currents was best described by at least two exponential components. Recovery from inactivation was markedly voltage-dependent and similar for both constructs. In comparison to alpha1E and alpha1Ebeta3 constructs, T current activation was shifted to more negative potentials, activation was typically slower, deactivation exhibited a steeper voltage-dependence, and recovery from inactivation was less voltage-dependent. Over most of the activation range, native T current inactivated more completely and in a single exponential fashion. Despite some pharmacological similarities (e.g. octanol, barbiturates) between alpha1E and T-type currents, aspects of blockade by amiloride and phenytoin appear to distinguish alpha1E current from T-type currents. The results define several distinguishing features of alpha1E currents that distinguish them from native T-type currents. 相似文献
