The objective of this study was to experimentally investigate the effects of various processing parameters on the water‐assisted injection molding of thermoplastic materials. Experiments were carried out on a lab‐developed water‐assisted injection molding system, which included a water pump, a water injection pin, a water tank equipped with a temperature regulator, and a control circuit. Two types of water injection pins designs were proposed to mold the parts. After molding, the lengths of water penetration in molded parts were measured. The effects of different processing parameters on the lengths of water penetration were determined. It was found that the shrinkage rate and the viscosity of the polymeric materials, and the void shapes of the hollowed cores mainly determined the water‐penetration lengths in molded products. In addition, a comparison has been made between the parts molded by water assisted injection molding and gas‐assisted injection molding. It was found that water‐assisted injection molded parts exhibit less uniform void sizes along the water channel. The cycle time for water‐assisted injection molded parts was shorter than that of conventional injection molded parts and gas‐assisted injection molded parts.  相似文献

Dimethyl sulfate (DMS) is a quarternizing agent for esteramine used for the synthesis of esterquat. To date there is no reliable published method for quantification of DMS in palm-based esterquat. Esterquat is used in the formulation of personal care and textile cleaning. The process of quaternization is usually incomplete and there will be unreacted DMS. This work presents a new simple method involving solvent extraction of DMS followed by analysis with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry detector to quantify the unreacted DMS. This method was validated as per International Council for Harmonization requirements. This novel method showed good repeatability (relative standard deviation [RSD] < 5%) and inter-day with different analyst reproducibility (RSD < 5%). The limits of detection and quantification were 5 and 10 μg mL−1, respectively. The accuracy of the method was evaluated by the analysis of spiked samples and it was found that good recovery was found at spiking levels of 20, 30, and 50 μg mL−1 with % recovery falling within the 80%–120% acceptable limit. However, at 10 μg mL−1, the percentage recovery was slightly below the recommended limit.  相似文献

The Bi2O3–B2O3–ZnO–SiO2 (BB35SZ) glass effects on the sintering behavior and magnetic properties of Bi–Zn co‐doped Co2Y ferrites were investigated in developing low‐temperature‐fired ferrites. The results indicate that BB35SZ glass can be used as a sintering aid to reduce the densification temperature of Co2Y ferrites from 1300°C to 900°C. The 2(Ba0.9Bi0.1O)·2(Zn0.4Co0.4Cu0.2O)·6(Fe1.97Zn0.03O3) ferrite with 4 wt% BB35SZ glass can be densified below 900°C, exhibiting an initial permeability of 3.4 and quality factor of 55. This process provides a promising candidate for multilayer chip magnetic devices for microwave applications.  相似文献

Undetected micrometastasis plays a key role in the metastasis of cancer in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. The aim of this study is to identify a biomarker of CRC patients with liver metastasis through the detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Microarray and bioinformatics analysis of 10 CRC cancer tissue specimens compared with normal adjacent tissues revealed that 31 genes were up-regulated (gene expression ratio of cancer tissue to paired normal tissue > 2) in the cancer patients. We used a weighted enzymatic chip array (WEnCA) including 31 prognosis-related genes to investigate CTCs in 214 postoperative stage I–III CRC patients and to analyze the correlation between gene expression and clinico-pathological parameters. We employed the immunohistochemistry (IHC) method with polyclonal mouse antibody against DVL1 to detect DVL1 expression in 60 CRC patients. CRC liver metastasis occurred in 19.16% (41/214) of the patients. Using univariate analysis and multivariate proportional hazards regression analysis, we found that DVL1 mRNA overexpression had a significant, independent predictive value for liver metastasis in CRC patients (OR: 5.764; 95% CI: 2.588–12.837; p < 0.0001 on univariate analysis; OR: 3.768; 95% CI: 1.469–9.665; p = 0.006 on multivariate analysis). IHC staining of the immunoreactivity of DVL1 showed that DVL1 was localized in the cytoplasm of CRC cells. High expression of DVL1 was observed in 55% (33/60) of CRC tumor specimens and was associated significantly with tumor depth, perineural invasion and liver metastasis status (all p < 0.05). Our experimental results demonstrated that DVL1 is significantly overexpressed in CRC patients with liver metastasis, leading us to conclude that DVL1 could be a potential prognostic and predictive marker for CRC patients.  相似文献

The surface‐modified diamond and PET film underwent photopolymerization rapidly with a binder agent to afford coating films of interpenetrating network (IPN) structure. The coating films thus formed exhibit higher tensile strength, thermal stability, and adhesion strength to the PET film. The inert surfaces of pristine diamond (PD) and PET film were modified by different chemicals and procedures to introduce epoxide and methacryloyl groups, respectively, on their surfaces. A coating agent consisting of an epoxide group containing modified diamond (called ED), a binder agent, and photoinitiators was prepared. After applying the coating agent to the substrate (a glass plate or a methacryloyl group containing PET film, MMA‐PET) and degassing under reduced pressure, the thin film of the coating agent was exposed to UV light (λmax; 365 nm) at room temperature to yield a coating film of IPN‐structure. The tensile strength and thermal properties of the ED‐containing free coating film (called free film) increased with the amount of ED embedded, whereas the strength of the PD‐containing free film decreased with the amount of PD embedded. The adhesion strength of the coating film on the MMA‐PET improved significantly by the free radical polymerization of the methacryloyl groups on the MMA‐PET and the acrylate resin in the binder agent. The alumina addition effects on the crystallization, sintering behaviors and dielectric properties of BaO–ZnO–SrO–CaO–Nd2O3–TiO2–B2O3–SiO2 (Ba–Zn–Sr–Ca–Nd–Ti–B–Si) glass powder were investigated using the differential thermal analyzer (DTA), thermo-mechanical analyzer (TMA), X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The results showed that the addition of alumina powder into Ba–Zn–Sr–Ca–Nd–Ti–B–Si glass changed the crystallization sequence from Nd2Ti4O11–Nd0.66TiO3 to Nd2Ti3O8.7–Nd2Ti2O7–Nd2Ti4O11and increased the densification activation energy due to the dissolution of Al3+ ions into the glass structure. Fully densified 30 vol.% alumina-added Ba–Zn–Sr–Ca–Nd–Ti–B–Si glass can be obtained via glass viscous flow before the second and third crystalline phases, Nd2Ti2O7 and Nd2Ti4O11crystallization. The 30 vol.% alumina-added Ba–Zn–Sr–Ca–Nd–Ti–B–Si glass–ceramics sintered at 900 °C exhibited a high dielectric constant of 17 and a quality factor of about 820, which provided a promising candidate for LTCC applications.  相似文献

Polyimide (PI)/silica hybrid membranes with high contact angles were prepared through the in situ sol–gel process. The precursor, poly(amic acid) with controlled block chain length, was synthesized using 4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl ether (ODA), 3,3′,4,4′‐benzophenone‐tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA) and 3‐aminopropyl‐trimethoxysilane (APrTMOS) or 3‐aminopropyldimethylethoxysilane (APDiMOS). And then, phenyltrimethoxysilane (PTS) or tetramethoxysilane (TMOS) or methyltrimethoxysilane (MTrMOS) was respectively, added to the above polyamic acid and mixed thoroughly. Following curing reaction, the PI/silica hybrid membranes with different cross‐linkages, silica content, and hydrophobic properties were prepared. The effect on the formation of PI imide ring during imidization reaction is increased as the increase of silanes content and characterized by frequency shiftment and absorbance ratio of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) measurements. All the hybrid membranes show high transparency though with high silica contents. The storage modulus, tan δ, and damping intensity by DMA measurements are all correlated with silane content or block chain length. And all these membranes with silane content possess high contact angle as compared to pure PI without any silanes added and the contact angles increase with increasing the silane content. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. N‐(4‐Acetoxyphenyl) maleimide (APMI) and three kinds of comonomers bearing a trimethylsilyl group were copolymerized at 60°C in the presence of azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator in 1,4‐dioxane to obtain the three IP, IIP, and IIIP copolymers. These copolymers were removed from the acetoxy group in a transesterification process into new IVP, VP, and VIP copolymers with a pendant hydroxyl group. Two modified processes were adopted to prepare photoresists using these copolymers. The first process involved mixing the dissolution inhibitor, o‐nitrobenzyl cholate, with the new copolymers. Second, o‐nitrobenzyl cholate was introduced into the copolymers using 1,8‐diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec‐7‐ene (DBU) in dimethylformamide (DMF). The cyclic maleimide structure is responsible for the high thermal stability of these copolymers. After irradiation using deep–UV light and development with aqueous Na2CO3 (0.01 wt %), the developed patterns showed positive images and exhibited good adhesion to the silicon wafer without using any adhesion promoter. The resolution of these resists was at least 0.8 μm and an oxygen‐plasma etching rate was 1/5.3 to that of hard‐baked HPR‐204. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The eight portland cements and two calcium aluminate cements in the Standard Reference Material (SRM) 1880 series are among the most popular SRMs in the catalog of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Standard Reference Materials Program. Numerous laboratories rely on them for elemental analysis and qualification for ASTM C 114-00 Standard Test Methods for Chemical Analysis of Hydraulic Cement. NIST has collected new candidate materials from around the world and partnered with Construction Technology Laboratories (CTL) in their preparation and certification. This paper describes the procedures taken at NIST and CTL to prepare and test materials for certification including the homogeneity testing, the X-ray fluorescence methods and the statistical data analysis performed for value assignment.  相似文献
