A slurry of α-Al2O3 was doped with Mg, Zr and La nitrates or chlorides, in various amounts in the range 150-500 wt ppm and then freeze-dried to produce nanosized doped powder (∼150 nm). The powder was sintered by SPS to yield transparent polycrystalline alpha alumina. The influence of the nature of the doping element and the starting salt, the thermal treatment before sintering and the sintering temperature on the transparency of the ceramics were investigated. The transparency of the ceramics of nanosized Al2O3 was shown to depend mainly on the way the powder was prepared, the nature of the doping salt also had an effect. Finally, a high real inline transmittance, reaching 48.1% was achieved after optimization.  相似文献

This paper documents the first essential dynamics analysis of ras protein ligands and of the protein itself, showing important features of their dynamic properties. Essential dynamics analysis of 300 ps of full solvent molecular dynamics simulations revealed differences in structure and dynamics between GDP- and GTP-bound forms of H-ras-p21. Regions in the protein which exhibited a structural shift correspond to the switch regions described previously. Differences in dynamics between H-ras-p21 GDP and H-ras-p21 GTP may be related to interactions of ras with GAP and its receptor and effector. Molecular dynamics of free GDP (in the absence of protein) were performed in water for 2 ns and analysed using essential dynamics. The conformations of GDP and GTP when bound to the protein were compared with free GDP, revealing that the ligands bind to the protein in an energetically unfavourable conformation. GDP and GTP molecules from various other protein crystal structures were also analysed. These ligands adopt similar conformations to those seen in H-ras-p21.   相似文献

The densification of CaLa2S4 (CLS) powders prepared by combustion method was investigated by the use of Field-Assisted Sintering Technique (FAST) and Hot Pressing (HP). CLS powders were sintered using FAST at 1000°C at different pressures and heating rates and sintered by HP under 120 MPa from 800°C to 1100°C for 6 hours with a heating rate of 10°C/min. Comparison of both techniques was further realized by use of the same conditions of pressure, dwell time, and heating rate. Complementary techniques (XRD, SEM-EDS, density measurements, FTIR spectroscopy) were employed to correlate the sintering processes/parameters to the microstructural/compositional developments and optical transmission of the ceramics. Both sintering techniques produce ceramics with submicrometer grain size and relative density of about 99%. Nevertheless, HP is more suitable to densify CLS ceramics without fragmentation and also reach higher transmission than FAST. Transmission of 40%–45% was measured out of a possible maximum of 69% based on the Fresnel losses in the 8-14 μm window when HP is applied at 1000°C for 6 hours under 120 MPa. In both techniques, ceramics undergo reduction issues that originate from graphitic sintering atmosphere.  相似文献

Hepatic metabolism of the two main isomers of CLA (9cis-11 trans, 10trans-12cisC18∶2) was compared to that of oleic acid (representative of the main plasma FA) in 16 rats by using the in vitro method of incubated liver slices. Liver tissue samples were incubated at 37°C for 17h under an atmosphere of 95% O2/5%CO2 in a medium supplemented with 0.75 mM of FA mixture (representative of circulating nonesterified FA) and with 55 μM [1-14C]9cis-11 trans C18∶2, [1-14C]10trans-12cis C18∶2, or [1-14C]oleate. The uptake of CLA by hepatocytes was similar for both isomers (9%) and was three times higher (P<0.01) than for oleate (2.6%). The rate of CLA isomer oxidation was two times higher (49 and 40% of incorporated amounts of 9cis-11 trans and 10trans-12 cis, respectively) than that of oleate (P<0.01). Total oxidation of oleate and CLA isomers into [14CO2] was low (2 to 7% of total oxidized FA) compared to the partial oxidation (93 to 98%) leading to the production of [14C] acid-soluble products. CLA isoemrs escaping from catabolism were both highly desaturated (26.7 and 26.8%) into conjugated 18∶3. Oleate and CLA isomers were mainly esterified into neutral lipids (30%). They were slowly secreted as parts of VLDL particles (<0.4% of FA incorporated into cells), the extent of secretion of oleate and of 10trans-12 cis being 2.2-fold higher than that of 9cis-11 trans (P<0.02). In conclusion, this study clearly showed that both CLA isomers were highly catabolized by hepatocytes, reducing their availability for peripheral tissues. Moreover, more than 25% of CLA escaping from catabolism was converted into conjugated 18∶3, the biological properties of which remain to be elucidated.  相似文献

Increasing the concrete alkali content from 0.6% to 1.25% of Na2Oe of the cement mass by adding NaOH to the mixture water has harmful effects on most mechanical properties (compressive, splitting, direct tensile, and flexure strengths) of concrete made with a water-to-cement (w/c) ratio of 0.41 and limestone aggregates not susceptible to alkali-silica reaction (ASR), however not on the elasticity modulus measured under compression or direct tension. Shrinkage tests at 50% RH and 23 °C started after 7 days at 100% RH and 23 °C show that the low-alkali concrete shrinks more than the high-alkali one, despite similar water losses. Freeze-thaw tests performed on air-entrained concretes show that the two concretes resist well to freezing and thawing while showing similar air-void systems. When examined under the scanning electron microscope (SEM), the hydrates in the two concretes present similar microstructure; however, the high-alkali concrete shows a more reticular and porous microtexture, which could explain the reduction in strength.  相似文献

The membrane electrode assembly (MEA) studied was constituted with a gas diffusion electrode (E-TEK) impregnated with Nafion® solution which was assembled with a Nafion® 117 cation exchange membrane under heat and pressure. The MEA was used as anode in a membrane electrolysis (ME) cell with the objective to regenerate HCl and NaOH from NaCl. Current efficiency for hydrogen oxidation was determined and its value is 100%, which indicates that the only reaction occurring at the anode is the oxidation of hydrogen. Current-potential curves, recorded in different conditions, showed a linear variation in the range 0-3000 A m−2 when hydrochloric acid concentration is below 2 mol dm−3. In this case, the overvoltage was shown to be mainly due to the ohmic drop in the membrane and in the layer where Nafion® impregnation was performed. MEA overvoltage necessary to reach 3000 A m−2 current density was about 0.12 V. For high HCl concentration (6-8 mol dm−3), the MEA overvoltage increased sharply with current density due to the adsorption of chloride anions on platinum catalyst.  相似文献

This article attempts to develop and prove a technique to determine the degradation of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for vascular prostheses. The implicit goal is to be able to quantify the amount of degradation to study the effect of in vivo aging. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H‐NMR) provides a comprehensive view of chemical macromolecular structures. Examination of a series of PET vascular prostheses showed significant chemical differences between the virgin prostheses and the explants collected after aging, especially for diethylene glycol and cyclic oligomers groups. Aging was investigated in terms of chemical scission of ester and ether linkages caused by hydrolytic reaction during the in vivo stay. Besides, we extended this 1H‐NMR technique to determine hydroxyl end‐group concentrations and therefore the average number of macromolecular weight. To validate 1H‐NMR results, complementary techniques, the chemical titration method and the classical viscosimetric method, were used. The results showed an increase of hydroxyl end‐group concentration and a decrease in the macromolecular weight for the explants. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2009  相似文献

Water deficits alter the nitrogen nutrition of crops. In grasslands, this has a major impact on both forage yield and nitrogen fluxes in the soil. It is important to assess the N balance in order to adjust fertilization to the expected needs of the crop and thus minimize any environmentally negative impacts of crops. Grassland species, including grasses, display a diverse ability to utilise soil resources. Nitrogen fluxes and the nitrogen absorption by grass swards of two species with contrasting rooting depths were computed using the appropriate module from the STICS simulation platform. In the case of the deep-rooted species, tall fescue, soil mineral N fluxes to the roots were very close to N uptake values, consistent with its nitrogen nutrition index being lower than one. In the case of the shallow-rooted species Italian ryegrass, there was a large excess in terms of N supply, which was also consistent with its non-limiting nitrogen nutrition index. In both species, and even when nitrogen demands for growth were fully satisfied, the nitrogen nutrition index was closely and linearly related to the soil mineral N flux to roots.  相似文献

Current, voltage and temperature measurements were performed at different points of the system to identify the controlling parameters of the spark plasma sintering (SPS) process. The very low inductance effects despite the high intensity current circulating through the SPS column justifies the use of Joule heating to characterize the phenomenon. The measurements also enabled the improvement and validation of an earlier electro-thermal numerical model developed using the finite element method (FEM). It has been shown that the electrical resistivity and the thermal conductivity of each of the elements are crucial parameters for the simulations. These parameters strongly modify the current modeled, thereby affecting the temperature distribution throughout the SPS column.  相似文献
