IN SITU X-RAY PROBES FOR PIEZOELECTRICITY IN EPITAXIAL FERROELECTRIC CAPACITORS

ABSTRACT

Probing the piezoelectricity and ferroelectricity of thin film devices and nanostructures quantitatively has proven to be challenging because the appropriate experimental tools have had a limited range of usefulness. We show here that the piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties of epitaxial thin films can be measured quantitatively using time-resolved synchrotron x-ray microdiffraction. Microdiffraction combines structural specificity with the appropriate spatial resolution and ability to probe structures with electrical contacts. Our measurements of piezoelectric coefficients and coercive electric fields for Pb(Zr,Ti)O₃ capacitors using this approach are in excellent quantitative agreement with results obtained electrically and mechanically. The time and spatial resolution of microdiffraction probes are well-defined and decoupled from electrical and mechanical resonances of the ferroelectric capacitor.     

完井方式对适度出砂井产能的影响研究

为了完善近几年提出的海上稠油油藏开采新模式中的部分技术——以钻井压裂、适度出砂、电潜螺杆泵为主的钻采工艺配套技术体系,根据不同完井方式（包括裸眼完井、射孔完井、筛管完井等）下钻井压裂井的表皮系数模型和产能模型,研究了不同完井方式下不同技术参数对钻井压裂适度出砂井的产能影响,结果表明,这些参数都不同程度地影响着井筒周围的出砂带物性,进而影响油井产能;在用适度出砂方式开采时,要严格评价完井方式及其技术参数对出砂带物性和产能的影响。     

智能终端客户感知监测系统的研发与应用

移动互联网业务发展和智能终端的普及对客户感知监测和网络优化提出了全新挑战,本文提出了一种可用于2G/3G及LTE智能终端的客户感知监测方法及系统架构,论述了在商用终端上实现业务异常自动发现、智能诊断与实时上报的流程和方法,并结合TD-SCDMA网络维护和优化工作实际介绍了此系统的应用成效及其在推动TD-SCDMA终端产业成熟过程中所做出的贡献.     

Simulation based analysis and an application to an offshore oil and gas production system of the Natvig measures of component importance in repairable systems

In the present paper the Natvig measures of component importance for repairable systems, and its extended version are analyzed for two three-component systems and a bridge system. The measures are also applied to an offshore oil and gas production system. According to the extended version of the Natvig measure a component is important if both by failing it strongly reduces the expected system uptime and by being repaired it strongly reduces the expected system downtime. The results include a study of how different distributions affect the ranking of the components. All numerical results are computed using discrete event simulation. In a companion paper [Huseby AB, Eide KA, Isaksen SL, Natvig B, Gåsemyr, J. Advanced discrete event simulation methods with application to importance measure estimation. 2009, submitted for publication] the advanced simulation methods needed in these calculations are described.     

Further evidence for an imprinted gene for neonatal diabetes localised to chromosome 6q22-q23

Transient neonatal diabetes mellitus (TNDM) is a rare form of childhood diabetes which usually resolves in the first 6 months of life but which predisposes to type 2 diabetes of adult onset. We recently reported paternal uniparental isodisomy of chromosome 6 (UPD6) in two children with TNDM and proposed that there may be an imprinted gene important in the aetiology of diabetes on chromosome 6. We now describe two unrelated families which independently suggest that the gene is imprinted, is paternally expressed and maps to 6q22-q23. One family has a duplication while the other, with familial TNDM, shows linkage to a marker in this region.     

Effect of intraocular lens design on neodymium:YAG laser capsulotomy rates

The activity of alkaline phosphatase (AP) was studied in adults of highly active (HA) and low active (LA) Drosophila melanogaster strains and their F1 hybrids, both under normal conditions and after a heat shock (38 degrees C). Under normal conditions, the HA strain expressed a higher AP activity compared to that in the wild-type strain Canton-S and dominated in respect to this character. The AP activity showed a sexual dimorphism, as it was higher in females of both strains. Heat shock (38 degrees C) induced no alterations in the AP activity of D. melanogaster.     

Thyroxine-induced activation of hypothalamo-hypophysial axis in neotenic salamander larvae

Thyroxine injected into the hypothalamus of neotenic Ambystoma tigrinum induces metamorphosis by activating hypothalamo-hypophysial stimulatory control of thyroid activity, thereby removing the hypothalamic block to metamorphosis.
