To identify factors affecting the chemical stability and preservative efficacy of lamivudine oral liquid formulations, an optimization study using a central composite design was performed. In this design, five factors, each at three levels, were investigated: pH (4.5, 5.5, and 73, sucrose (5%, 20%. and 50% w/v), propylene glycol (0% 2%, and 5% w/v), glycerin (4% 8%, and 12% w/v). and EDTA (0.100. 0.175, and 0.250 mg/mL). All formulations contained a constant concentration of lamivudine, parabens, and artificial strawberry and banana flavors. All formulations were evaluated for preservative effectiveness against USP and BP standards and for chemical stability at 30°C and 40°C for three months. All formulations were effective against bacteria and yeasts, but indicated reduced preservative effectiveness against the mold Aspergillus niger. Preservative effectiveness improved with increasing pH (4.5 to 7.5) and to a lesser extent with increasing EDTA concentration (0.100 to 0.250 mg/mL). Increasing glycerin concentration (4% to 12% w/v) slightly decreased preservative effectiveness. Over the concentration ranges tested, no change in preservative effectiveness was noted with concentration changes in sucrose or propylene glycol. The pH was the main factor influencing the chemical stability of the drug and preservatives in this study. Lamivudine chemical stability increased with increasing pH from 4.5 to 7.5. Methyl and propylparaben showed extensive degradation at pH 7.5.  相似文献

The storage times of FET-accessed GaAs dynamic RAM cells are limited to less than 1 min at room temperature by gate leakage in the access transistor. These transistor leakage mechanisms have been eliminated by designing a vertically integrated DRAM cell in which an n-p-n bipolar access transistor is merged with a p-n-p storage capacitor. Storage times of 4.5 h are obtained at room temperature, a 1000-fold increase over the best FET-accessed cells  相似文献

We report isolating the Drosophila retinal degeneration E (rdgE) mutation. The hypomorphic rdgE1 allele causes rapid photoreceptor degeneration in light and a slower rate of degeneration when the flies are raised in constant darkness. The rdgE1 flies exhibited an electrophysiological light response that decreased with age, coinciding with the degeneration. This suggests that degeneration caused the loss of the light response. We determined that the ninaE (rhodopsin) mutation, but not norpA [phospholipase C (PLC)], slowed the rdgE-dependent degeneration. This was consistent with the light-enhanced degeneration, but revealed that the degeneration is independent of the PLC-mediated phototransduction cascade. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that rdgE1 photoreceptors exhibited a number of vesicular transport defects including unpacking/vesiculation of rhabdomeres, endocytosis of novel vesicles by photoreceptors, a buildup of very large multivesicular bodies, and an increased amount of rough endoplasmic reticulum. We determined that the rdgE null phenotype is a late embryonic lethality. Therefore, rdgE+ is required in cells outside of the retina, quite possibly in a large number of neurons. Thus, rdgE may define a mutational class that exhibits both light-enhanced retinal degeneration and a recessive null lethality by perturbing neuronal membrane biosynthesis and/or recycling.  相似文献

In order to select the optimal device for a particular application, designers must carefully analyze the tradeoffs between competing devices. Recent progress in SiC power rectifiers has resulted in the demonstration of high-voltage PiN and Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs). With both technologies maturing, power electronics engineers will soon face the task of selecting between these two devices. Until recently, the choice was simple, since silicon SBDs are only available for relatively low voltage applications. The choice is not as clear when considering SiC diodes, and guidelines for determining the proper application of each are needed. The purpose of this paper is to provide such guidelines, based on an analysis of the most significant tradeoffs involved.  相似文献

This study examined the effects of instructional match and content overlap on students' ability to generalize from passage reading instruction. Four students with mild disabilities served as participants. Using a multielement design, students were instructed with passages at two levels of text difficulty (instructionally matched vs. instructionally mismatched), and generalization was assessed with passages at two levels of similarity to those instructed (low vs. high content overlap). Results indicated that students' oral reading accuracy and fluency showed the greatest degree of generalization when instructional materials were matched to the students' skill level and assessment materials were similar to those used during instruction. Moreover, these results were maintained at 1-month follow-up. The implications of these findings for classroom reading instruction and the assessment of students' reading skills are discussed.  相似文献

The fracture strength of HF-etched samples was measured as a function of field-assisted K-Na ion exchange depth, as well as the severity of abrasion. As expected, the more severe the abrasion, the greater the depth required to make the strength insensitive to abrasion. An abrasion-independent weakening mechanism that increased with exchange depth was also found to be operative.  相似文献

An improved oxygen bomb apparatus has been developed. The increased precision and readability of the continuous pressure recording allows a new method of end-point measurement. It was possible to use smaller test samples than any previously reported. Sample size and oxygen pressure were shown to be relatively unimportant variables. Temperature is the most useful variable for controlling test time. This is preferable over sample dispersion or addition of catalysts in terms of simplifying the procedure. Peroxide formation at the oxygen bomb test end point is three to four times the value at the end point of the Active Oxygen Method. Presented at the AOCS meeting, New Orleans, April 1976.
