This paper reports results from wideband MIMO measurements performed in short range fixed wireless environments at 5.2 GHz. The objective is to provide MIMO channel characterization results for the measured environments and contribute to the limited available similar studies. Two kinds of propagation scenarios are investigated, rooftop to rooftop and street to rooftop, at three different sites always under LOS propagation conditions. The analysis of measurement data is performed in the context of non physical modeling, providing insight into the statistics of the measured channels. In particular, the slow time varying nature of the channel is studied and the narrow Doppler spectrum shape is approximated. Furthermore, frequency correlation results are obtained and the typical delay dispersion measures are extracted. Then, the antenna correlation is studied and the error of the Kronecker product approximation is evaluated. Finally, capacity results are provided and the channel measurements are characterized in terms of spatial multiplexing quality and multipath richness through condition number analysis. Nikolaos D. This paper presents the development of a methodology for microstructure analysis and modeling of hot mix asphalt (HMA). This methodology relies on using effective local material properties and strain gradient theory in the finite element analysis of HMA microstructure. The effective local properties are calculated using an analytical micromechanical model that captures the influence of percent of particles on the microscopic response of HMA. Strain gradient elasticity is used in order to account for the effect of particle size in the finite element analysis. The autocorrelation function and the moving window technique are used to determine the microstructure characteristic length scales that are used in strain gradient elasticity. A number of asphalt mixes with different aggregate types and size distributions are analyzed in this paper.  相似文献

This study is concerned with the constitutive modeling of asphalt concrete. Unlike most constitutive models for asphalt concrete that do not take into account the evolution of the microstructure of the material, this study incorporates the evolution of the microstructure by using a framework that recognizes that a body’s natural configurations can evolve as the microstructure changes. The general framework, on which this study is based, is cast within a full thermomechanical setting. In this paper, we develop models within the context of a mechanical framework that stems from the general framework for models based on the full thermodynamic framework and the resulting equations represent a nonlinear rate type viscoelastic model. The creep and stress relaxation experiments of Monismith and Secor are used for validating the efficacy of the model, and it is found that the predictions of the theory agree very well with the available experimental results. The advantages of using such a framework are many, especially when one wants to model the diverse mechanical and thermodynamic response characteristics of asphalt and asphalt concrete.  相似文献

During the past few years, great interest was developed in the subject of floating. In the present study, the floating and swelling characteristics of several excipients used controlled release technology were examined. The floating behavior was evaluated with resultant weight measurements, while a gravimetric method was employed for studying their swelling. The experiments were carried out in two different media, i.e. deionized water and simulated meal in order to monitor possible differences. The results indicated that higher molecular weight polymers and slower rates of polymer hydration are usually followed by enhanced floating behavior. The floating characteristics of all evaluated excipients were improved when simulated meal medium was used. Finally, the combination of resultant weight measurements and swelling experiments can be used to determine in vitro the buoyancy, weight and volume changes of orally administered dosage forms and to predict floating behavior.  相似文献

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effect of the proinflammatory cytokines, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-1-alpha (IL-1a), on myoblast proliferation and fusion and on myocyte protein metabolism and stress protein expression. Proliferation was suppressed (p < 0.05) by both cytokines, alone and in combination, and at lower concentrations, the suppression was additive. Likewise, fusion was retarded (p < 0.05) by these cytokines alone and in combination. Myosin synthesis was not altered acutely or chronically by TNF-alpha alone or by the combination of this cytokine with IL-1alpha. Chronic exposure to TNF-alpha did not alter total cellular protein synthesis, but exposure to IL-1alpha and the cytokine combination resulted in an increase (14% to 19%, p < 0.05) in synthesis. Neither total cellular protein nor myosin degradation were influenced by either cytokine alone or by the combination. There was no detectable induction, acutely or chronically, of any of the stress proteins evaluated (HSC70, HSP70, or HSP60). These data suggest that cytokines may alter muscle growth and development prenatally and postnatally and that the changes in muscle protein metabolism during periods of immune challenge are not direct effects of TNF-alpha or IL-1alpha.  相似文献

Permanent deformation in hot mix asphalt is caused by a combination of densification (decrease in volume and hence increase in density) and shear deformation. The primary objective of this paper is to develop an elastoviscoplastic model that accounts for the influence of important microstructure properties such as anisotropy and damage on permanent deformation. The model incorporates a yield surface based on the Drucker-Prager function that is modified to capture the influence of stress state on the material response. Also, parameters that reflect the directional distribution of aggregates and damage density in the microstructure are included in this yield surface model. The elastoviscoplastic model is converted into a numerical formulation and is implemented in finite element (FE). The FE model is used in this study to simulate experimental measurements under different confining pressures and strain rates.  相似文献

GaAs MESFET oscillators commonly exhibit increased close-to-carrier noise, which is often attributed to upconversion of flicker noise from the MESFET. To establish and quantify this effect, this paper presents an experimental system that allows the simultaneous measurement of the flicker noise on the gate and drain terminals of a GaAs-MESFET, and of the noise imposed on an RF carrier when amplified by the MESFET. The cross correlations between these parameters can thus be determined; an analytical method is shown for extracting the levels of the effective sources of flicker noise from the results, and the manner in which these affect the RF carrier. In the tests performed, it was often found that the close-to-carrier noise was related directly to the low-frequency flicker noise  相似文献
