Zirconium doped SiC with a surface area from 88 to 200 m2 g−1 was synthesized using the shape memory concept method followed by calcination in air at a temperature of ≤480°C. The material obtained was composed of β-SiC and small ZrO2 particles dispersed throughout the material matrix and a significant amount of an amorphous phase containing Si, Zr and O. Molybdenum oxycarbide, the active isomerization phase, supported on such a material displayed a similar behavior to that obtained on pure SiC for the n-heptane isomerization reaction. A comparison made with the molybdenum oxycarbide catalyst supported on pure ZrO2 showed that the Zr doped SiC was not simply made of silicon carbide coated with a layer of ZrO2 on the surface but probably an amorphous phase containing Si, Zr and O which displays a similar behavior as pure SiC.  相似文献

Scaled worlds preserve certain functional relationships of a complex task environment while paring away others. The functional relationships preserved are defined by the questions of interest to the researcher. Different scaled worlds of the same task may preserve and pare away different functional relationships. In this paper we use the example of Ned to discuss the use of scaled worlds in applied cognitive research. Ned is based on a detailed cognitive task analysis of submarine approach officers as they attempt to localize an enemy submarine hiding in deep water. For Ned we attempted to preserve the functional relationships inherent in the approach officer's information environment while paring away other aspects of his task environment. Scaled worlds attempt to maintain the realism inherent in the preserved functional relationship while being tractable for the researcher and engaging to the participant.  相似文献

The serine protease prostasin (CAP1/Prss8, channel-activating protease-1) is a confirmed in vitro and in vivo activator of the epithelial sodium channel ENaC. To test whether proteolytic activity or CAP1/Prss8 abundance itself are required for ENaC activation in the kidney, we studied animals either hetero- or homozygous mutant at serine 238 (S238A; Prss8cat/+ and Prss8cat/cat), and renal tubule-specific CAP1/Prss8 knockout (Prss8PaxLC1) mice. When exposed to varying Na+-containing diets, no changes in Na+ and K+ handling and only minor changes in the expression of Na+ and K+ transporting protein were found in both models. Similarly, the α- or γENaC subunit cleavage pattern did not differ from control mice. On standard and low Na+ diet, Prss8cat/+ and Prss8cat/cat mice exhibited standard plasma aldosterone levels and unchanged amiloride-sensitive rectal potential difference indicating adapted ENaC activity. Upon Na+ deprivation, mice lacking the renal CAP1/Prss8 expression (Prss8PaxLC1) exhibit significantly decreased plasma aldosterone and lower K+ levels but compensate by showing significantly higher plasma renin activity. Our data clearly demonstrated that the catalytic activity of CAP1/Prss8 is dispensable for proteolytic ENaC activation. CAP1/Prss8-deficiency uncoupled ENaC activation from its aldosterone dependence, but Na+ homeostasis is maintained through alternative pathways.  相似文献
