In this paper, we study the performance of the continuous phase modulation (CPM)‐based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CPM‐OFDM) system. Also, we propose a CPM‐based single‐carrier frequency domain equalization (CPM‐SC‐FDE) structure for broadband wireless communication systems. The proposed structure combines the advantages of the low complexity of SC‐FDE, in addition to exploiting the channel frequency diversity and the power efficiency of CPM. Both the CPM‐OFDM system and the proposed system are implemented with FDE to avoid the complexity of the equalization. Two types of frequency domain equalizers are considered and compared for performance evaluation of both systems; the zero forcing (ZF) equalizer and the minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalizer. Simulation experiments are performed for a variety of multipath fading channels. Simulation results show that the performance of the CPM‐based systems with multipath fading is better than their performance with single path fading. The performance over a multipath channel is at least 5 and 12 dB better than the performance over a single path channel, for the CPM‐OFDM system and the proposed CPM‐SC‐FDE system, respectively. The results also show that, when CPM is utilized in SC‐FDE systems, they can outperform CPM‐OFDM systems by about 5 dB. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The present study was oriented to prepare new scintillating anion-exchange resins for measurement of (99)TcO(4)(-) in natural waters. The organic fluor 2-(1-naphthyl)-5-phenyloxazole was diffused into (chloromethyl)polystyrene resin. Thereafter, a thin layer of poly[[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]trimethylammonium chloride] was grafted from the resin surface by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization as an attempt to overcome potential problems related to the leaching of fluor molecules during usage. The residual chloromethyl groups of the polymer-coated resin were aminated by reaction with two different tertiary amines, triethylamine (TEA) and methyldioctylamine (MDOA). Off- and on-line quantification of (99)Tc was achieved with high detection efficiencies of 60.72 ± 1.93% and 72.83 ± 0.81% for resin with TEA and MDOA functional groups, respectively. The detection limit was determined to be less than the maximum contaminant level (33 Bq L(-1)) established under the Safe Drinking Water Act. The two functionalized resins were demonstrated to be selective for pertechnetate from synthetic groundwater containing up to 1000 ppm Cl(-), SO(4)(2-), and HCO(3)(-) and up to 1200 ppb Cr(2)O(7)(2-) in an acidic medium. 相似文献

The main objective in distributed sensor networks is to reach agreement or consensus on values acquired by the sensors. A common methodology to approach this problem is using the iterative and weighted linear combination of those values to which each sensor has access. Different methods to compute appropriate weights have been extensively studied, but the resulting iterative algorithm still requires many iterations to provide a fairly good estimate of the consensus value. In this paper, different accelerating consensus approaches based on adaptive and non‐adaptive filtering techniques are studied and applied on the problem of acoustic source localization using the adaptive projected subgradient method. A comparative simulation study shows that the non‐adaptive polynomial filters based on Newton's interpolating polynomials and semi‐definite programming can provide more accelerated consensus and better estimation accuracy than adaptive filters evaluated using constrained affine projection algorithm or stochastic gradient algorithm provided that the network topology is known beforehand. Periodic signals can be modeled by means of second-order nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The right-hand side function of the ODE is parameterized in terms of known basis functions. The least-squares algorithm developed for estimating the coefficients of these basis functions gives biased estimates, especially at low signal-to-noise ratios. This is due to noise contributions to the periodic signal and its derivatives evaluated using finite difference approximations. In this paper a fully automated spectral analysis (ASA) technique is used to eliminate these noise contributions. A simulation study shows that using the ASA technique significantly improves the performance of the least-squares estimator. 相似文献

A study was made of pressure drop during single fluid phase flow to determine the pressure drop characteristic of the porous media (glass ballotini particulate beds) for coalescence. It is also served to check the reproducibility of the packing technique, and to detect any foreign particulate matter or re-arrangement of the individual particles in the coalesce bed. Furthermore these data provided a basis for comparison with that during two-phase flow with coalescence. For spherical particle the modified Carman-Kozeny equation was applied; the commonly accepted value for Kozeny constant is 5.0. Graft copolymerization of methyl methacrylate on nylon 6 was investigated using KMnO4 as initiator at 60°C. The optimum conditions of the grafting process using various amounts of methyl methacrylate have been utilized. Physical and chemical properties of the grafted nylon such as moisture regain, density, and infrared spectra are studied. Furthermore, the dyeing behavior of the grafted nylon toward acid and direct dyes is also investigated. The rate of graft copolymerization (Rp) of methyl methacrylate with this system was evaluated and expressed by the following equation depending upon the potassium permanganate concentration used: The degree of polymerization of isolated poly(methyl methacrylate) from the grafted nylon was found to be a first-order dependence. 相似文献

The many interacting and conflicting requirements of a wide range of stakeholders are the main sources of complexity in the infrastructure and utility systems. We propose a systemic methodology based on negotiation and argumentation to help in the resolution of complex issues and to facilitate options appraisal during design of such systems. A process-based approach is used to assemble and propagate the evidence on performance and reliability of the system and its components, providing a success measure for different scenarios or design alternatives. The reliability of information sources and experts opinions are dealt with through an extension of the mathematical theory of evidence. This framework helps not only in capturing the reasoning behind design decisions, but also enables the decision-makers to assess and compare the evidential support for each design option. 相似文献

Multicast communications concern the transfer of data among multiple users. Multicast communications can be provided at the network layer—an example is IP multicast—or at the application layer, also called overlay multicast. An important issue in multicast communications is to control how different users—senders, receivers, and delivery nodes—access the transmitted data as well as the network resources. Many researchers have proposed solutions addressing access control in IP multicast. However, little attention has been paid to overlay multicast. In this paper, we investigate the access control issues in overlay multicast and present OMAC: a new solution to address these issues. OMAC provides access control for senders, receivers, and delivery nodes in overlay multicast. The proposed architecture, which is based on symmetric key cryptosystem, centralizes the authentication process in one server whereas it distributes the authorization process among the delivery nodes. Moreover, delivery nodes are utilized as a buffer zone between end systems and the authentication server, making it less exposed to malicious end systems. To evaluate our work, we have used simulation to compare the performance of OMAC against previous solutions.
