Titania-supported vanadia catalysts were modified by addition of antimony oxide for application in o-xylene selective oxidation to phthalic anhydride. It was shown that active and selective catalysts can be prepared by ball-milling mixtures of powders of TiO2, V2O5and Sb2O3followed by calcination. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy proves the formation of highly dispersed overlayers of vanadium oxide and antimony oxide, in which V5+is partially reduced to lower oxidation states and Sb3+is partially oxidized to Sb5+. Antimony oxide segregated into the outermost surface layers. It is therefore inferred that the presence of the antimony oxide modifier spatially separates V–O species and leads to site isolation which may be responsible for the positive effect of the modifier for the catalyst's selectivity.  相似文献

An optimized equipment design for natural gas processing and liquefaction plants becomes increasingly difficult with changing process conditions: Particularly low values of surface tension create rising challenges on the design of phase separators and column internals. The TERESA test rig at HZDR was designed to allow the investigation of multiphase thermohydraulics and phase separator performance under critical fluid properties in industrial dimensions. A versatile pipe test section is available in DN200 and equipment internals may be tested in a sectional DN300/DN500 test separator. The applied test fluid shows a high vapor-liquid density difference between 1470 and 940 kg m−3, viscosity as low as 0.12 mm2s−1, and surface tension down to 1.3 mN m−1. Volumetric liquid and vapor flow rates may be varied up to 9 and 530 m3h−1 in the test rig, respectively.  相似文献

We present a flexible initial framework for defining self‐motivated, self‐aware agents in simulated worlds, planning continuously so as to maximize long‐term rewards. While such agents employ reasoned exploration of feasible sequences of actions and corresponding states, they also behave opportunistically and recover from failure, thanks to their continual plan updates and quest for rewards. Our framework allows for both specific and general (quantified) knowledge and for epistemic predicates such as knowing‐that and knowing‐whether. Because realistic agents have only partial knowledge of their world, the reasoning of the proposed agents uses a weakened closed‐world assumption; this has consequences for epistemic reasoning, in particular introspection. The planning operators allow for quantitative, gradual change and side effects such as the passage of time, changes in distances and rewards, and language production, using a uniform procedural attachment method. Question answering (involving introspection) and experimental runs are shown for our particular agent ME in a simple world, demonstrating the value of continual deliberate, reward‐driven planning. Though the primary merit of agents definable in our framework is that they combine all of the aforementioned features, they can also be configured as single or multiple goal‐seeking agents and as such perform comparably with some recent experimental agents.  相似文献

The evaluation of unsupervised outlier detection algorithms is a constant challenge in data mining research. Little is known regarding the strengths and weaknesses of different standard outlier detection models, and the impact of parameter choices for these algorithms. The scarcity of appropriate benchmark datasets with ground truth annotation is a significant impediment to the evaluation of outlier methods. Even when labeled datasets are available, their suitability for the outlier detection task is typically unknown. Furthermore, the biases of commonly-used evaluation measures are not fully understood. It is thus difficult to ascertain the extent to which newly-proposed outlier detection methods improve over established methods. In this paper, we perform an extensive experimental study on the performance of a representative set of standard k nearest neighborhood-based methods for unsupervised outlier detection, across a wide variety of datasets prepared for this purpose. Based on the overall performance of the outlier detection methods, we provide a characterization of the datasets themselves, and discuss their suitability as outlier detection benchmark sets. We also examine the most commonly-used measures for comparing the performance of different methods, and suggest adaptations that are more suitable for the evaluation of outlier detection results.  相似文献

MALDI-TOF MS profiling for microorganism detection has already been demonstrated in the 1990s, but has evolved to the first-line identification method in many laboratories just during the past five years. While this application of MALDI-TOF MS has proven its broad applicability, accuracy, robustness, and cost-effectiveness it is of particular interest to expand the capabilities of the mass spectrometric platform. Resistance detection is the most desirable further application of MALDI-TOF MS in microbiology, but maybe also the most challenging. Different approaches have been published regarding diverse antibiotic drugs and distinct microorganism classes. The current review shall give an overview about the developments of the recent years and their potential to get transformed in clinical useful assays in the future.  相似文献

Assessment of the hemodynamic and anatomic results following balloon angioplasty of discrete native coarctation of the aorta, with particular attention to "remodeling," has required repeat cardiac catheterization and angiography, which is invasive and has limited resolution. Eight patients with hypertension and discrete native coarctation with an otherwise normally developed aortic arch underwent angioplasty at 5.0 +/- 6.8 years of age. Angiographic cross-sectional areas of the aorta indexed to body surface area at the isthmus (I), coarctation site (C), and 1 cm distal to the coarctation site (Cd) pre- and postangioplasty were compared with MRI-indexed cross-sectional areas 18 +/- 10 months (MRI-1) and 35 +/- 11 months (MRI-2) postangioplasty. From preangioplasty to MRI-2, the isthmus was smaller (149 +/- 22 versus 127 +/- 27 mm2/m2; p < 0. 05). The coarctation site was larger postangioplasty (25 +/- 9 versus 116 +/- 40 mm2/m2; p < 0.001) with continued growth at latest follow-up (116 +/- 40 versus 164 +/- 36 mm2/m2; p < 0.01). The segment 1 cm distal to the coarctation site continued to decrease in area at latest follow-up (267 +/- 78 versus 163 +/- 38 mm2/m2; p < 0. 001). I versus C versus Cd at MRI-2 were similar, whereas postangioplasty and MRI-1 cross-sectional area measurements were significantly different. Following angioplasty of discrete native coarctation, the aorta becomes more uniform or undergoes "remodeling." Noninvasive MRI is an effective means of evaluating the anatomic result following balloon angioplasty, obviating the need for repeated invasive cardiac catheterizations.  相似文献

Located in socially and culturally diverse neighborhoods, we have built a network of intercultural computer clubs, called come_IN. These clubs offer a place to share practices among children and adults of diverse ethnical backgrounds. We show how this initiative ties into the striving for the integration of migrant communities and host society in Germany. In this paper, we analyze how collaborative project work and the use of mobile media and technologies contribute to integration processes in multicultural neighborhoods. Qualitative data gathered from interviews with club participants, participative observation in the computer clubs, as well as the analysis of artifacts created during project work provides the background needed to match local needs and peculiarities with (mobile) technologies. Based on these findings we present two approaches to add to the technological infrastructure: (1) a mesh-network extending the clubs into the neighborhood and (2) a project management tool, which supports projects and stimulates the sharing of ideas among projects.  相似文献

It is shown that flatbed scanners are inherently high quality 3D scanners. Currently developed first prototypes have many applications in industry and multimedia. Because of their big depth of focus, they can be used not only for scanning printed paper, but also for scanning small objects. The nonparallel optics also make it possible to create stereoscopic images of small objects with flatbed scanners, as first described elsewhere (R. Schubert, 1998). The author describes the method for doing this. He also shows examples of stereoscopic images made in this way so that you can judge for yourself their quality and particular properties. Finally, he describes possible accessories that will let you use flatbed scanners routinely in a lot of areas, including hobbies and professional applications. Combining dedicated 3D imaging and evaluation software as well as 3D output devices results in a high quality, low cost 3D scanner. Currently work is under way to specify, design, and build the first prototypes  相似文献
