In this paper, we present a robust adaptive channel estimator and a robust multiuser detector for wireless multicarrier code-division
multiple access (MC–CDMA) systems under narrowband interference (NBI). The conventional least-squares (LS) channel estimator
performs poorly when narrowband interfering signals contaminate the multicarrier systems. A new weighted recursive least M-estimate (WRLM) channel estimator is hence developed to estimate multipath fading channels in the presence of NBI. The new
robust channel estimator resorts to M-estimate and weighted least-squares (WLS) techniques. Simulations show that the WRLM channel estimator offers substantial
performance gain over conventional recursive least-squares (RLS), recursive least M-estimate (RLM) and weighted RLS (WRLS) channel estimators under NBI. With the estimated channel coefficients, a robust multiuser
detector is proposed to jointly suppress multiple access interference (MAI) and NBI. The performance of the linear decorrelator
will degrade substantially in the presence of NBI. A weighted least M-estimate (WLM) algorithm is therefore developed to combat the NBI. The WLM multiuser detector is also based on the weighted
M-estimate concept. Numerical results show that the proposed WLM multiuser detector significantly outperforms over the conventional
linear decorrelator, the robust decorrelator with M-estimate and the WLS detector under NBI.

We present the signal gain, wavelength tuning characteristics, saturation properties, and noise figure (NF) of MEMS-based widely tunable vertical-cavity semiconductor optical amplifiers (VCSOAs) for various optical cavity designs, and we compare the theoretical results to data generated from a number of experimental devices. Using general Fabry-Pe/spl acute/rot relationships, it is possible to model both the wavelength tuning characteristics and the peak signal gain of tunable vertical-cavity amplifiers, while a rate-equation analysis is used to describe the saturation output power and NF as a function of the VCSOA resonant wavelength. Additionally, the basic design principles for an integrated electrostatic actuator are outlined. It is found that MEMS-tunable VCSOAs follow many of the same design trends as fixed-wavelength devices. However, with tunable devices, the effects of varying mirror reflectance and varying single-pass gain associated with the MEMS-based tuning mechanism lead to changing amplifier properties over the wavelength span of the device. 相似文献

The wire bondability of Au-Ni-Cu bond pads with different Au plating schemes, including electrolytic and immersion plates, are evaluated after plasma treatment. The plasma cleaning conditions, such as cleaning power and time, are optimized based on the process window and wire pull strength measurements for different bond pad temperatures. Difference in the efficiency of plasma treatment in improving the wire bondability for different Au plates is identified. The plasma-cleaned bond pads are exposed to air to evaluate the recontamination process and the corresponding degradation of wire pull strength. The changes in bond pad surface characteristics, such as surface free energy and polar functionality, with exposure time are correlated to the wire pull strength, which in turn provides practical information about the shelf life of wire bonding after plasma cleaning. 相似文献

The pea-milling and subsequent air classification of whole peas was investigated on laboratory scale equipment. Two approximately linear but divergent calibration graphs were constructed for the air classifier based on two different definitions of particle size cut-point. At high classifying speed (11 000 rev min?1) a fine fraction or protein concentrate was produced containing 55.1% protein (cf. 22% in original flour) although this represented only 29% of the total protein. The yield of protein in the fine fraction could be increased by using a three-stage milling and classifying procedure, although the actual protein content of the concentrate remained more or less the same. This procedure also had the effect of reducing protein contamination of the starch (coarse) fraction. Other effects of air classifying observed included the concentration of the lipid component into the fine fraction and the rough fractionation of the fibre constituent between the coarse (testa) and fine (cell wall material) fractions. Various aspects and problems associated with the use of air classification for the preparation of pea protein concentrates are discussed. 相似文献

In this paper, we present a demodulation structure suitable for a reader baseband receiver in a passive radio frequency identification (RFID) environment. In a passive RFID configuration, an undesirable DC‐offset phenomenon may appear in the baseband of the reader receiver, which can severely degrade the performance of the extraction of valid information from the received tag signal. To eliminate this DC‐offset phenomenon, the primary feature of the proposed demodulation structures for the received FM0 and Miller subcarrier signals is to reconstruct the signal corrupted by the DC‐offset phenomenon by creating peak signals from the corrupted signal. It is shown that the proposed method can successfully detect valid data, even when the received baseband signal is distorted by the DC‐offset phenomenon. 相似文献

Intrinsically self-healing stretchable polymers have been intensively explored for soft robotic applications due to their mechanical compliance and damage resilience. However, their prevalent use in real-world robotic applications is currently hindered by various limitations such as low mechanical strength, long healing time, and external energy input requirements. Here, a self-healing supramolecular magnetic elastomer (SHSME), featuring a hierarchical dynamic polymer network with abundant reversible bonds, is introduced. The SHSME exhibits high mechanical strength (Young's modulus of 1.2 MPa, similar to silicone rubber) and fast self-healing capability (300% stretch strain after 5 s autonomous repair at ambient temperature). A few SHSME-based robotic demonstrations, namely, rapid amphibious function recovery, modular-assembling-prototyping soft robots with complex geometries and diverse functionalities, as well as a dismembering–navigation–assembly strategy for robotic tasking in confined spaces are showcased. Notably, the SHSME framework supports circular material design, as it is thermoreformable for recycling, demonstrates autorepair for extended lifespan, and is modularizable for customized constructs and functions. 相似文献

This letter describes the design of highly packaged heterodyne receivers for terahertz applications. The 3-D integration of a terahertz mixer with a low-noise intermediate frequency amplifier is implemented for the first time using off-the-shelf components. Thereby, an-order-of-magnitude volume and weight reduction are accomplished. We validate our packaging approach experimentally, demonstrating performance comparable to that of a similar receiver assembled with planar interconnects. Super-orthogonal space-time trellis codes (SOSTTCs) designed by hand can significantly improve the performance of space-time trellis codes. This paper introduces a new representation of SOSTTCs based on a generator matrix that allows a systematic and exhaustive search of all possible codes.
