A tire thread formulation for heavy‐duty trucks containing SBR/BR rubber blend and varying proportions of silica/clay fillers including a silane‐coupling agent have been investigated. The various mixes were compounded in a Banbury ‘O’ mixer and vulcanized using the EV‐system. Silica/clay (80/0) served as the control mix. The oscillating disc rheometer (ODR) was used in determination of cure characteristics. Substitution of silica (80 phr) with china clay up to 40 phr increased the cure rate of the rubber blend mixes as well as their maximum torque level (Tmax). Tmax was observed to be highest at a filler blend ratio of 40/40 phr. Synergism between silica and clay at this filler blend mixture is suggested to be responsible for the observation. The heat buildup was reduced from 43 to 20°C as the clay content increased. Results also showed that the rubber blend compound containing silica/clay (60/20) filler blend in the stated ratio exhibited the best balance of properties in the critical parameters such as the absolute torque level (69.5 dNm), heat buildup (39°C), and abrasion resistance (0.574 mg.loss/1,000 rev). The rate of depreciation of abrasion resistance of rubber blend compound as the clay content increased was found to be 0.035 mg loss/1,000 rev as silica is substituted with one part of china clay phr. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel hexagonal two dimensional ZnO nanosheets were successfully and economically synthesized using zinc acetate and urea based on a facile microwave hydrothermal method. The structure, morphology and size of the ZnO nanosheets were investigated by X-ray diffraction (X-ray), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive analysis of x-ray (EDS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). X-ray analysis showed that the obtained ZnO nanosheets are crystalline corresponding to the pure ZnO phase with an average particle size of 12 nm. Optical properties of ZnO nanosheets were investigated by UV-Vis absorption and photoluminescence (PL) techniques. The band gap energy of ZnO nanosheets was found to be 3.29 eV. The photoluminescence (PL) measurement shows a strong UV emission, blue emission and blue-green emission bands. ZnO nano sheets possess a higher photocatalytic activity leading to the degradation of methylene blue (MB). The ZnO nanosheets are expected to have new opportunities in vast research areas and for application in catalysts and optoelectronic devices. 相似文献

A constitutive relation is presented in this paper to describe the plastic behavior of ferritic steel over a broad range of temperatures and strain rates. The thermo-mechanical behavior of high strength low alloy (HSLA-65) and DH-63 naval structural steels is considered in this study at strains over 40%. The temperatures and strain rates are considered in the range where dynamic strain aging is not effective. The concept of thermal activation analysis as well as the dislocation interaction mechanism is used in developing the flow model for both the isothermal and adiabatic viscoplastic deformation. The flow stresses of the two steels are very sensitive to temperature and strain rate, the yield stresses increase with decreasing temperatures and increasing strain rates. That is, the thermal flow stress is mainly captured by the yield stresses while the hardening stresses are totally pertained to the athermal component of the flow stress. The proposed constitutive model predicts results that compare very well with the measured ones at initial temperature range of 77 K to 1000 K and strain rates between 0.001 s−1 and 8500 s−1 for both steels. 相似文献

Agricultural wastes as lignocellulosic biomasses are known as the major resources of bioenergy. These valuable resources can be converted into useful environmental friendly fuels and chemicals. Wheat straw, walnut shell and almond shell are the main agricultural wastes in Kurdistan province, Iran. This study investigates the hydrogen-rich gas production via gasification of these biomasses in supercritical water media. Experiments were performed first, in the base case condition using a stainless steel batch micro reactor system. Then, the effect of reaction time on the total gas yield and yield of hydrogen, were investigated. It was seen that the total gas yields and gasification efficiencies increased by increasing the reaction time to 30 min and then the total gas yield was approximately remained constant. Among three used feed stocks, wheat straw with higher amount of cellulose and lower amount of lignin had the highest total gas and hydrogen yields in shorter reaction times. The maximum hydrogen yields of 7.25, 4.1 and 4.63 mmol per gram of wheat straw, almond shell and walnut shell occurred at 10, 15 and 20 min of reaction time, respectively. 相似文献

Rapid and accurate estimation of Ground Cover (GC) at regional and global scales for agricultural management application is only possible by using remote sensing (RS). In this study, two Vegetation Indices (VIs) including the Perpendicular Vegetation Index (PVI) and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) were used for estimating GC. Since the parameters of the bare soil line have an important role in calculating GC based on PVI, this line was extracted based on the red-NIRmin (minimum near infrared) method with different intervals (0.0001, 0.0005, and 0.0010). In addition to traditional statistics such as Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), the sensitivity analysis (S) was also used to sharpen the accuracy of the models' estimations. The results indicated that the PVI-based method, in contrast to the NDVI-based approach, had a better performance in estimating GC of wheat. The highest correlation between the observed GC and the estimated GC based on PVI method was achieved in interval length of 0.0005 (R2 = 0.91) with RMSE equal to 8.82. This regression line (GCEST = -3.47 + 0.96 GCOBS) was not significantly different from the 1:1 line. As expected, the best estimation was achieved when the sensitivity of estimated GC based on PVI (length of the interval: 0.0005) was almost constant and low compared to the other models. 相似文献

This study critically investigates the main characteristics and features of anti-filtering packages provided by Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). For over a decade, the digital communities around the globe have used FOSS packages not only as an inexpensive way to access to information available on Internet, but also to disseminate thoughts, opinions and concerns about various socio-political and economic matters. Proxy servers and FOSS played a vital role in helping citizens in repressed countries to bypass the state imposed Internet content filtering and censorship practices. On the one hand, proxy servers act as redirectors to websites, and on the other hand, many of these servers are the main source for downloading FOSS anti-filtering software packages. These packages can provide secure web surfing via anonymous web access, data encryption, IP address masking, location concealment, browser history and cookie clean-ups but they also provide proxy software updates as well as domain name updates.The main objectives of this study are to investigate the role of FOSS packages in combating Internet content filtering and censorship and empowering citizens to effectively participate in communication discourse. By evaluating some of the well known FOSS anti-filtering packages used by Iran's digital community, this study found that despite the success of FOSS in combating filtering and state censorship, the majority of these software packages were not designed to meet the needs of Internet users. In particular, they are poorly adapted to the slow Internet connections in many developing countries such as Iran. In addition, these software packages do not meet the level of sophistication used by authorities to filter the content of the Net. Therefore, this study offers a new model that takes into account not only the existing level of the Internet infrastructure but also the growing number of Internet users demanding more effective FOSS packages for faster access to uncensored information while maintaining anonymity. 相似文献

Dissolution-Seepage Coupled Analysis through Formations Containing Soluble Materials 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Seepage flow can dissolve particulate soluble materials contained in soil layers and rock formations. The above-mentioned dissolution increases the porosity of the formation and hence seepage flow, which in turn progressively increases the dissolution rate. Due to progressive dissolution, several dams around the world have lost functionality or even failed. Dissolution propagation can be modeled as progress of a solution front, with its progression and resulting excess seepage coupled in the analysis. This is made possible in this paper by simultaneously solving the governing differential equation of seepage and the equation expressing progress of the solution front. The outcome (coupled differential equation) is nonlinear and transient, since both porosity and coefficient of permeability vary with the advancement of the solution front through the medium. The finite-element method is used to solve the resulting nonlinear partial differential equation. Using several examples, influence of material properties and geometry characteristics on the solution front progress and the resulting excess seepage loss is evaluated. Furthermore, effectiveness of different countermeasures (e.g., positive cutoffs and their positions) in dam foundations are studied. Small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are becoming popular among researchers and vital platforms for several autonomous mission systems. In this paper, we present the design and development of a miniature autonomous rotorcraft weighing less than 700 g and capable of waypoint navigation, trajectory tracking, visual navigation, precise hovering, and automatic takeoff and landing. In an effort to make advanced autonomous behaviors available to mini‐ and microrotorcraft, an embedded and inexpensive autopilot was developed. To compensate for the weaknesses of the low‐cost equipment, we put our efforts into designing a reliable model‐based nonlinear controller that uses an inner‐loop outer‐loop control scheme. The developed flight controller considers the system's nonlinearities, guarantees the stability of the closed‐loop system, and results in a practical controller that is easy to implement and to tune. In addition to controller design and stability analysis, the paper provides information about the overall control architecture and the UAV system integration, including guidance laws, navigation algorithms, control system implementation, and autopilot hardware. The guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C) algorithms were implemented on a miniature quadrotor UAV that has undergone an extensive program of flight tests, resulting in various flight behaviors under autonomous control from takeoff to landing. In this paper a distributed adaptive dynamic surface controller is proposed for multi-agent systems under fixed directed graph topologies. The agents have uncertain nonlinear dynamics and are influenced by bounded unknown disturbances. The controller should synchronize the states of all agents with the corresponding states of the nonautonomous leader. It is proved that, with the proposed controller, the synchronization error remains bounded; and the bounds can be arbitrarily decreased by increasing the controller gains. The control rules are designed such that each agent only requires the state information of its neighbors, rendering a distributed control. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through two simulation examples. 相似文献

This paper presents a system enabling robotic helicopters to fly safely without user interaction at low altitude over unknown terrain with static obstacles. The system includes a novel reactive behavior‐based method that guides rotorcraft reliably to specified locations in sparsely occupied environments. System dependability is, among other things, achieved by utilizing proven system components in a component‐based design and incorporating safety margins and safety modes. Obstacle and terrain detection is based on a vertically mounted off‐the‐shelf two‐dimensional LIDAR system. We introduce two flight modes, pirouette descent and waggle cruise, which extend the field of view of the sensor by yawing the aircraft. The two flight modes ensure that all obstacles above a minimum size are detected in the direction of travel. The proposed system is designed for robotic helicopters with velocity and yaw control inputs and a navigation system that provides position, velocity, and attitude information. It is cost effective and can be easily implemented on a variety of helicopters of different sizes. We provide sufficient detail to facilitate the implementation on single‐rotor helicopters with a rotor diameter of approximately 1.8 m. The system was extensively flight‐tested in different real‐world scenarios in Queensland, Australia. The tests included flights beyond visual range without a backup pilot. Experimental results show that it is feasible to perform dependable autonomous flight using simple but effective methods. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 相似文献
