The impact of the nature and geometry of ions on the solvent structure has been investigated on the basis of experimental data of viscosity and molar volumes of aqueous solutions of chlorides, nitrates, and sulfates of Ni (II), Co (II), Mn (II), Cu (II), and with due regard for dynamic and thermodynamic parameters of hydration.

The paper presents an analytical overview of state-of-the-art in ultrafiltration and nanofiltration in the technology of drinking water conditioning. Analyzed are the possibilities of the methods ensuring high quality of drinking water in different technological flowcharts of treatment. The paper has covered the issues of the methods and ways of their solution when treating surface and underground waters. The paper has shown modern ultrafiltration and nanofiltration units for drinking water conditioning.     

Clusters and gigantic heterophase water clusters

We have analyzed the concept of gigantic heterophase water clusters (GHWC) in connection with the data available in the literature on various mechanisms of the formation of clusters in water. We have made conclusions on the fact that the GHWC composition may include water clusters of small sizes, while the presence of deuterium in the water in the form of HDP may play a significant role in the formation and stabilization of GHWC.     

Formation of a test system and the choice of test criteria when biotesting natural waters

Described are main problems of biotesting natural water. Defined are principles for formation of a test system and factors influencing it. Proposed are main areas for the choice of sensitive test reaction of organisms and test criteria for assessing the quality of natural water by the results of their biotesting.     

Toxic impact of Escherichia coli bacteria depending on their content in water on test organisms

The paper has carried out the analysis of cyto- and genotoxic properties of drinking water containing bacteria of E. coli with the use of test objects and their cells. The paper has shown the expediency of using the methods of biotesting for a complex assessment of qualities of drinking water along with standard methods.
