Instructions providing basic guidelines for preparing camera-ready (CR) Transactions-styled papers for IEEE Power Engineering Society (PES) Transactions are presented. This document is itself an example of the desired layout for CR papers (inclusive of this abstract). The document contains information regarding desktop publishing format, type sizes, and type faces. Style rules are provided that explain how to handle equations, units, figures, tables, references, abbreviations, and acronyms. Sections are also devoted to the preparation of acknowledgments, references, and authors' biographies. Abstracts are limited to 150 words and can not contain equations, figures, or tables.  相似文献

CP MAS 13C NMR spectra of hardened resins have shown that urethane bridges derived from the reaction of the isocyanate group with the hydroxymethyl group of urea do form even at fast curing times comparable to what was used in the wood panels industry, in lower proportions than what was shown earlier. Polyureas and biurets obtained from the reaction of isocyanate with water are the predominant crosslinking reactions of pMDI alone and in UF/pMDI resin systems under fast curing conditions. Residual, unreacted isocyanate groups in the hardened network are consistently observed. Their proportion markedly decreases when the original proportion of urea–formaldehyde (UF) resin is high and that of pMDI is low. Under these fast curing conditions, the UF resin appears to self‐condense through an unusually high proportion of methylene ether links rather than methylene bridges alone. A marked proportion of residual, unreacted hydroxymethyl groups is also noticeable, initially, in the UF self‐condensation network. Direct NMR tests on thin hardboard bonded under fast pressing conditions with different proportions of UF/pMDI confirmed that crosslinking due to polyureas and biurets formation are predominant in the crosslinking of pMDI when alone and in UF/pMDI resin systems. They confirmed that residual, unreacted isocyanate groups are present in the finished panel. Their proportion is higher when the proportion of pMDI in the system is high. The presence or absence of urethanes could not be confirmed directly on the panels as the relevant peaks are masked by the wood carbohydrates signals of wood cellulose and hemicelluloses. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Productivity of lactating dairy cows fed diets with wet corn gluten feed (WCGF, Sweet Bran, Cargill Inc., Blair, NE) as the primary energy substrate and prairie hay as the primary source of physically effective neutral detergent fiber (peNDF) was assessed relative to a control diet. Forty-eight Holstein cows, 100 to 250 d in milk, were randomly assigned to 1 of 6 pens and pens were randomly assigned to treatment sequence in a replicated 3×3 Latin square. Treatments were a control diet with 18% alfalfa, 18% corn silage, 33% WCGF, and 15% forage NDF (CON); a diet with 20% tallgrass prairie hay, 46% WCGF, and 13% forage NDF (TPH20); and a diet with 14% tallgrass prairie hay, 56% WCGF, and 9% forage NDF (TPH14). Midway through period 2, TPH14 was discontinued due to the high prevalence of diarrhea among cows on that treatment. Data from period 2 for TPH14 pens were discarded, and the pens that had been assigned to TPH14 for period 3 were randomly assigned to the other 2 treatments. Pen-level data were analyzed using linear mixed models, including the random effects of period and pen and the fixed effect of treatment. For animal-level data, additional random effects were introduced to account for subsampling. No evidence for treatment effects was apparent on dry matter intake. Least squares mean milk yields were 36.2, 34.6, and 35.2 kg/d for CON, TPH20, and TPH14, respectively, and were not significantly different. Milk fat concentration was higher for CON and TPH20 than for TPH14, with means of 3.48, 3.41, and 2.82%, respectively. Fat yield was significantly greater for CON compared with TPH20 and TPH14. Milk urea nitrogen was greatest for TPH20 and TPH14 and least for CON, consistent with differences in dietary protein content. Efficiencies, expressed as energy-corrected milk divided by dry matter intake, were 1.47, 1.42, and 1.24 for CON, TPH20, and TPH14, respectively, and were not significantly different. These data indicate that TPH14 did not provide adequate peNDF to support normal rumen function in mid lactation dairy cows; instead, TPH20 may be a feasible diet for use on dairies where high-NDF grass hay and WCGF are available.  相似文献

An on-line immunoaffinity extraction with liquid chromatography/membrane introduction mass spectrometry (IAE/LC/MIMS) method for the determination of BTEX compounds in complex sample matrixes is described. This method uses an immunoaffinity column (1 mm i.d. x 20 mm) for on-line sample cleanup and enrichment, a 5-micron C18 trapping column (2 mm i.d. x 20 mm) for analyte focusing, a 3-micron C18 analytical column (3.2 mm i.d. x 100 mm) for separation, and a membrane introduction mass spectrometer for quantitation. The immunoaffinity column was evaluated in terms of binding capacity, recovery, and enrichment factor. The method was optimized for the determination of BTEX compounds in a mixture of 30 volatile organic compounds, which showed no matrix interference and a dramatic improvement of the detection limit over that of the LC/MIMS method (up to 474-fold). This method was also used for the determination of BTEX compounds in several gasoline-contaminated water samples, and the results were compared with the EPA reference methods.  相似文献

The CIE luminosity function Vδ is based largely upon the spectral sensitivity of normal observers measured by flicker photometry. Nonetheless, it is used to specify illumination for visual tasks in which the performance criterion is not temporal resolution, e.g., acuity tasks. It has recently become clear that different channels in the human visual system detect acuity targets than detect flicker. Furthermore, the flicker and acuity channels have ostensibly different spectral sensitivities. Thus it becomes important to verify that lights equated by a flicker criterion and lights equated by an acuity criterion agree. If the spectral sensitivity measured by flicker and acuity criteria differ, then performance on an acuity task for lights of equal luminance but dissimilar spectral composition will differ. Six monochromatic background fields (460, 500, 550, 580, 600, and 660 nm) were flickermatched to a standard white field. the monochromaticplus-white-standard fields were used as backgrounds for 10 cycle/degree monochromatic gratings presented as increments. Four observers participated in the experiment. Excepting the 460 nm condition, the contrast required to detect a grating on flicker-matched backgrounds is independent of wavelength. Although subserved by different channels, flicker photometric and threshold acuity criteria produce similar spectral sensitivities.  相似文献

84 business students participated in a face-to-face collective bargaining simulation in which Ss assumed the roles of union and management negotiators. Two mediation and 4 arbitration conditions were manipulated. Dyads bargaining under total-package, final offer arbitration left significantly fewer issues unresolved than did dyads bargaining under conventional arbitration or issue-by-issue final offer arbitration. Whereas mediation did not have an independent effect on bargaining behavior, it interacted significantly with mode of arbitration to influence bargaining behavior. Under the mediation condition, more issues were left unresolved under conventional arbitration than under any other anticipated form of 3rd-party intervention. On the other hand, under the no-mediation condition, total-package/final-offer arbitration and no arbitration resulted in the fewest number of unresolved issues. Laser-shock-induced spall failure is studied in thin aluminum targets at strain rates from 2 to 5 × 106 s−1. Targets were prepared from high-purity aluminum in the recrystallized condition and a low-impurity aluminum alloy containing 3 wt pct magnesium in both recrystallized and cold-rolled conditions. The effects of material and microstructure on spall fracture morphology are investigated. Recrystallized pure aluminum produced spall fracture surfaces characterized by transgranular ductile dimpling. Recrystallized aluminum-magnesium alloy with a 50-μm grain size produced less ductile spall surfaces, which were dominated by transgranular fracture, with some isolated transgranular ductile dimpling at fast strain rates. Transgranular ductile dimpling regions disappeared in recrystallized alloy specimens with a 23-μm grain size tested at faster rates. Cold-rolled alloy material produced spall failure surfaces consisting of brittle intergranular and transgranular fractures. Measured spall strength increases with increasing ductile fracture character. Spall failure preferentially follows grain boundaries, making grain size an important factor in spall fracture surface character.
