In component‐based development, software systems are built by assembling components already developed and prepared for integration. To estimate the quality of components, complexity, reusability, dependability, and maintainability are the key aspects. The quality of an individual component influences the quality of the overall system. Therefore, there is a strong need to select the best quality component, both from functional and nonfunctional aspects. The present paper produces a critical analysis of metrics for various quality aspects for components and component‐based systems. These aspects include four main quality factors: complexity, dependency, reusability, and maintainability. A systematic study is applied to find as much literature as possible. A total of 49 papers were found suitable after a defined search criteria. The analysis provided in this paper has a different objective as we focused on efficiency and practical ability of the proposed approach in the selected papers. The various key attributes from these two are defined. Each paper is evaluated based on the various key parameters viz. metrics definition, implementation technique, validation, usability, data source, comparative analysis, practicability, and extendibility. The paper critically examines various quality aspects and their metrics for component‐based systems. In some papers, authors have also compared the results with other techniques. For characteristics like complexity and dependency, most of the proposed metrics are analytical. Soft computing and evolutionary approaches are either not being used or much less explored so far for these aspects, which may be the future concern for the researchers. In addition, hybrid approaches like neuro‐fuzzy, neuro‐genetic, etc., may also be examined for evaluation of these aspects. However, to conclude that one particular technique is better than others may not be appropriate. It may be true for one characteristic by considering different set of inputs and dataset but may not be true for the same with different inputs. The intension in the proposed work is to give a score for each metric proposed by the researchers based on the selected parameters, but certainly not to criticize any research contribution by authors. There has been significant empirical work on information systems (IS) innovation. With the advent of a myriad of new and diverse technologies being introduced into contemporary organizations this work is only going to increase in its importance. Unfortunately, results of prior empirical work have been fragmented. Many of these studies treat IS innovations as homogeneous entities and do not effectively integrate notions of IS innovation with general organizational innovation. Swanson (1994) proposes a tri-core model and theory of IS innovation that can help integrate the isolated studies in this area, and can form the foundation on which future study of IS innovation can be based. This paper, in the spirit of a cumulative research tradition, presents and builds on Swanson's framework by incorporating contingencies that might affect the model. Specifically, notions of strategy (strategic push) and technology impact are discussed in the context of the framework. We hope that continued inquiry into this area will facilitate formulation of rich theory that will enable focused inquiry on IS innovation.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to determine the relative effects of morphine and halothane anesthesia on coronary blood flow. Right heart bypass was instituted in 20 dogs by draining the vena cava blood into a cardiotomy reservoir and returning it to the main pulmonary artery. Coronary sinus drainage was measured by a right ventricular cannula. Group I (10 dogs) was sequentially given 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5% halothane. Group II (10 dogs) was given 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 mg per kilogram of morphine intravenously. Arterial pressure, coronary sinus blood flow, cardiac output, arterial pH, PCO2, and PO2 were determined and repeated at each dose level of anesthesia and compared to the control values. Morphine significantly increased coronary flow at 3, 4, and 5 mg/kg without pressure adjustment and at 2 mg/kg after pressure adjustment. Coronary flow with halothane was unchanged from control values except for a decrease at 2.5%. Coronary flow was significantly greater with 3, 4, and 5 mg/kg of morphine than with 1.0 and 1.5% halothane.  相似文献

The Reactivity of corn cob char in CO2 has been studied on a thermogravimetric balance to develop a rate equation for the design of biomass gasifiers operating on corn cob char. Experiments in the range of 650-1000°C were conducted with cylindrical shaped pellets of 1 cm diameter having L/D=l. The average porosity of the pellets was 0.5. It was observed that the rate of the CO2/char reaction decreased with increase in temperature from 650-750°C and then increased with temperature upto 1000°C.

The data obtained at temperatures 750°C and above has been used to determine a rate equation for char gasification. It has been found that the reaction proceeds according to the Sharp Interface Model (SIM) with a first order chemical reaction as the rate controlling step. The activation energy is found to be 40 Kcal/mole with frequency factor being 1.2 × 107 mm/sec. Analysis of the data obtained for the decreasing reaction rate regime (650-750°C) indicates that the change in the ash structure result in this kind of behavior.  相似文献

This research has investigated the mechanical properties and microstructure of metakaolin derived geopolymer mortars containing 50% by weight of silica sand, after exposure to temperatures up to 1200 °C. The compressive strength, porosity and microstructure of the geopolymer mortar samples were not significantly affected by temperatures up to 800 °C. Nepheline (NaAlSiO4) and carnegieite (NaAlSiO4) form at 900 °C in the geopolymer phase and after exposure to 1000 °C the mortar samples were transformed into polycrystalline nepheline/quartz ceramics with relatively high compressive strength (~275 MPa) and high Vickers hardness (~350 HV). Between 1000 and 1200 °C the samples soften with gas evolution causing the formation of closed porosity that reduced sample density and limited the mechanical properties.  相似文献

Proton-conducting solid-electrolyte perovskite ceramics based on acceptor-doped barium and strontium cerates have become the focus of extensive investigations as candidate materials for fuel cells that operate at moderate temperatures. To assess the suitability of a material for this application, it is necessary that bulk electrolyte conductivity be measured at the operating temperature. However, very little reliable published conductivity data exist above 600°C. Protonic conductivity in yttrium-doped barium cerate has been observed to be less at high temperatures than would be expected, based on the activation energy and preexponential for hydrogen transport at temperatures <300°C. Conductivity data obtained from impedance spectroscopy on BaCe0.9Y0.1O3–α over the extended temperature range of 100°–900°C are presented. An Arrhenius plot of the data shows two distinct linear regions, suggesting that two different rate-limiting processes occur in series with a break-over transition at ∼250°C. The decrease in conductivity is apparently not due to dehydration. An activation energy for protonic transport of 0.26 eV, about one-half of the low-temperature value, is proposed, based on curve fitting of the high-temperature data.  相似文献

Chemical ligation is an important tool for the generation of synthetic DNA structures, which are used for a wide range of applications. Surprisingly, reported chemical ligation yields can range from 30 to 95 % for the same chemical activating agent and comparable DNA structures. We report a systematic study of DNA ligation by using a well-defined bimolecular test system and a water-soluble carbodiimide (EDC) as a phosphate-activating agent. Our results emphasize the interplay between template-substrate complex stability and the rates of the chemical steps of ligation, with 3′ phosphate substrates providing yields near 100 % after 24 hours for particularly favorable reaction conditions. Ligation rates are also shown to be sensitive to the identity of the base pairs flanking a nick site, with as much as threefold variation. Finally, the observation that DNA substrates are modified by EDC at rates that can be comparable with ligation rates emphasizes the importance of considering side reactions when designing protocols to maximize ligation yields.  相似文献

The methanogenesis of black liquor from pulp and paper mill was achieved using immobilized cell technology in a laboratory‐scale two‐stage reactor system run continuously for 340 days. The optimum organic loading rate for the anaerobic treatment of black liquor was 8.0 kgm?3d?1 at which the % COD removal, biogas production and methane content were 55%, 11 dm3d?1 and 71%, respectively. Organic loading rates above 8.0 kgm?3d?1 were observed to be toxic to the methanogenic bacteria and resulted in decreased methane content, biogas and COD removal. The applicability of the system to the large‐scale processing and treatment of paper mill liquid waste is discussed. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Dodecylbenzene sulfonate (DBS)‐doped polypyrrole (PPY) conducting polymer films were electrochemically deposited onto the indium‐tin‐oxide (ITO)‐coated glass plates in aqueous medium. The enzyme cholesterol oxidase (ChOx) was immobilized on these DBS–PPY films by a physical adsorption technique. These ChOx‐immobilized DBS–PPY films were characterized by ultraviolet–visible and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The enzyme activity studies indicate that ~40% of ChOx leaches out from the ChOx/DBS–PPY film. The ChOx activity in the ChOx/DBS–PPY film was assayed as a function of cholesterol concentration. The results of amperometric measurements conducted on ChOx/DBS–PPY/ITO film show linearity over the range 2–8 mM of cholesterol solution.
