This paper analyzes the demand for preventive care in an optimal control model in which utility is not contingent on the state of health and preventive measures are taken against future costs of curative care. It turns out that the demand for preventive care depends negatively on its price, and positively on the price of curative care and on the life-span. The influence of the depreciation rate on health capital is ambiguous. While the sign of the income elasticity cannot be determined in general, it may be positive if income is negatively correlated with the rate of time preference.  相似文献

Laser assisted generative production techniques like Selective Laser Melting (SLM) are novel but complex near net shape fabrication methods. The present paper describes properties of metallic specimens generated by SLM. Therefore various process parameters were observed to evaluate their influence on certain attributes of parts fabricated by Selective Laser Melting. Conclusions To raise the operational efficiency of water recirculation systems, it is necessary to develop a closed water supply system and to carry out treatment with reagents.Of all the investigated inhibitors for recirculation water in the manufacture of man-made fibre, the zinc-bichromate-phosphate inhibitor is the most effective.Use of the zinc-bichromate-phosphate inhibitor reduces the corrosion rate five- to seven-fold depending in the physicochemical composition of the recirculation water, and reduces the corrosion resistance figure by two units.The inhibitor is effective over a wide range of concentrations of dissolved mineral salts (2000–10,000 mg/liter).Translated from Khimicheskie Volokna, No. 3, pp. 55–57, May–June, 1985.  相似文献

Fucose‐containing glycans mediate a variety of biological processes, but there is little information on reaction processes and mechanisms mediated by fucosyltransferases. We recently reported on fluorescently labeled GDP‐β‐L ‐fucose‐ATTO 550, which enabled monitoring of α1,3‐fucosyltransferase activity. Here we present an extension to the previously described results, based on the synthesis of a fluorescein‐isothiocyanate (FITC)‐labeled and two carboxyfluorescein‐labeled (FAM‐labeled) NDP‐β‐L ‐fucose derivatives, and applied all four compounds in labeling of different glycoproteins with the aid of four different fucosyltransferases. The labeling processes were analyzed by in‐gel fluorescence and fluorescence polarization measurements. Comparison with the ATTO‐labeled sugar revealed that the FITC‐labeled fucose was the best of these substrates, and that the bacterial enzyme HP‐FucT tolerated the fluorescent substrates better than human fucosyltransferases.  相似文献

The efficiency of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) can be improved by using a Ni-mesh between the ferritic steel interconnect and the Ni/YSZ anode. However, interdiffusion processes can lead to internal oxidation within the Ni-mesh and some microstructural changes, i.e., formation of an austenite zone and accelerated formation of σ-phase at the ferrite/austenite interface. These changes may adversely affect the performance of the cell during long-term operation. The present work focused on the influence of certain alloying elements on the overall behavior of the ferritic steel under simulated SOFC operating conditions to define conditions to minimize σ-phase formation without degrading the oxidation resistance and mechanical properties of the steel. The experimental results indicate that decreasing the amount of Cr and adjusting the amount of Nb, Si and W of the steel is a possible way to achieve that goal.  相似文献
