Automatic leak localization has been suggested to reduce the time and personnel efforts needed to localize (small) leaks. Yet, the available methods require a detailed demand distribution model for successful calibration and good leak localization performance. The main aim of this work was to analyze whether such a detailed demand distribution is needed. Two demand distributions were used: a factorized distribution that distributes the inflow demand proportionally across the consumption nodes according to individual billing data, and a uniform distribution that equally distributes demand across all consumption nodes. The performance of the automatic leak localization method, using both demand distribution models, was compared. A new measure for leak localization performance that is based on the percentage of false positive nodes is proposed. It was possible to localize the leaks with both demand distribution models, although performance varied depending on the timing and duration of the measurement.  相似文献

Canavalia brasiliensis (canavalia), a drought tolerant legume, was introduced into the smallholder traditional crop-livestock production system of the Nicaraguan hillsides as green manure to improve soil fertility or as forage during the dry season for improving milk production. Since nitrogen (N) is considered the most limiting nutrient for agricultural production in the target area, the objective of this study was to quantify the soil surface N budgets at plot level in farmers fields over two cropping years for the traditional maize/bean rotation and the alternative maize/canavalia rotation. Mineral fertilizer N, seed N and symbiotically fixed N were summed up as N input to the system. Symbiotic N2 fixation was assessed using the 15N natural abundance method. Nitrogen output was quantified as N export via harvested products. Canavalia derived in average 69% of its N from the atmosphere. The amount of N fixed per hectare varied highly according to the biomass production, which ranged from 0 to 5,700 kg ha?1. When used as green manure, canavalia increased the N balance of the maize/canavalia rotation but had no effect on the N uptake of the following maize crop. When used as forage, it bears the risk of a soil N depletion up to 41 kg N ha?1 unless N would be recycled to the plot by animal manure. Without N mineral fertilizer application, the N budget remains negative even if canavalia was used as green manure. Therefore, the replenishment of soil N stocks by using canavalia may need a few years, during which the application of mineral N fertilizer needs to be maintained to sustain agricultural production.  相似文献

Alkyl glycosides are interesting intermediates for the production of biodegradable surfactants. Synthesis of ethyl beta-d-fructofuranoside by invertase-catalysed ethanolysis of sucrose has been extensively reported in literature. However, this procedure yields mixtures of glucose, fructose, sucrose and ethyl beta-d-fructofuranoside. Purification of ethyl beta-d-fructofuranoside from such mixtures by chromatographic methods is laborious, difficult to scale up and requires organic solvents. The yeast Hansenula polymorpha grows rapidly on glucose, fructose and sucrose. Sucrose hydrolysis in this yeast is catalysed by an intracellular alpha-glucosidase ('maltase'); consequently, H. polymorpha should be unable to hydrolyse ethyl beta-d-fructofuranoside. Indeed, aerobic cultivation of H. polymorpha on sugar mixtures obtained by invertase-catalysed ethanolysis of sucrose resulted in the complete removal of contaminating sugars, leaving ethyl beta-d-fructofuranoside as the sole organic compound in culture supernatants. Pure ethyl beta-d-fructofuranoside was recovered from the supernatants by mixed-bed ion exchange chromatography with an 86% yield.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider communication between agents that employ different vocabularies to represent information. In particular, we develop a communication mechanism in which translators between the vocabularies of agents are generated. Instead of being defined in advance, these translators are dynamically constructed during execution of the system, and are based both on the information that the agents exchange and on their underpinning ontologies. Moreover, these translators are not necessarily defined for the total vocabulary of the agents, but instead, only for the parts that have been involved in communication steps. The framework can for instance be used to study and to analyze experiments as performed in the research on the origins of language, like language games, in which the purpose of communication is to come to a mutual understanding of the agents' vocabularies. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The design of tunnels and slopes in heterogeneous rock masses such as flysch presents a major challenge to geologists and engineers. The complex structure of these materials, resulting from their depositional and tectonic history, means that they cannot easily be classified in terms of widely used rock mass classification systems.
