Three types of polycarbosilane-derived SiC fibers—Nicalon, Hi-Nicalon, and Hi-Nicalon S—were exposed at temperatures of 1573–1773 K under a reduced pressure of 1.3 Pa. The thermal stability of the fibers was investigated through examinations of the gas evolution, grain growth, specific resistivity, fiber morphology, and tensile strength. The thermal decomposition of the silicon oxycarbide phase began at 1523 K; then, active oxidation of the β-SiC crystallites occurred at >1673 K. The active oxidation caused serious damage to the fiber structure, which resulted in significant degradation of the fiber strength. Hi-Nicalon had a tensile strength of ∼0.5 GPa after exposure at 1773 K, although Nicalon and Hi-Nicalon S fibers completely lost their strength, even after exposure at 1673 K. Hi-Nicalon fiber had relatively good thermal stability under reduced pressure.  相似文献

Anchorage-dependent cultivation of human epithelial and keratinocyte cells was carried out on surfaces modified with synthesized dendrimers. Notable elongation of the epithelial cells was recognized on the culture surface immobilized with a dendrimer having D-glucose as a functional ligand, but not when a dendrimer having L-glucose was used or when the dendrimer was ligand-free. This morphological change was attributable to a temporary grasping of the cells at the D-glucose moiety via a glucose transporter-mediated mechanism present in the cell membrane. Following visualization of the actin filaments of the cells, it was considered that the cellular elongation on the D-glucose-bound dendrimer surface reflected the degree of formation of the cellular cytoskeleton. The cellular roundness was calculated by means of image analysis of the individual cells and employed as a parameter to evaluate the formation of the cellular cytoskeleton. In the culture of keratinocytes on the D-glucose-bound dendrimer surface, it was demonstrated that the decrease in the ratio of elongated cells (i.e., cells with a low roundness value) was correlated with the deterioration in the growth potential associated with cellular senescence.  相似文献

Beryllides have remarkable characteristics besides their low density, such as high radiation resistance, high chemical stability, low hydrogen isotope retention and good high temperature mechanical strength especially for fusion applications. In order to have a practical usage for industrial applications, it is important to compile a set of quantitative data on such properties. It is also important to develop fabrication and processing paths to assure the processing of inherently brittle beryllides.The characterization and manufacturing technologies development have been carried out mainly on the Be12Ti interemetallic compounds at the Be-rich side of the Be-Ti binary system. In the present paper, up-dated results on several properties are described for the compound fabricated by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and ingot metallurgy. Mechanical properties of the compounds having a duplex microstructure with neighboring phases are evaluated by compressive tests from room temperature to 1273 K. Radiation damage of the compound is preliminary studied by charged particle irradiation. Oxidation in air and the interaction with water vapor are evaluated. Thermal desorption of the deuterium is examined by using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and thermal desorption spectrometry (TDS). Through these evaluations it seems that Be12Ti is superior as neutron multiplier with respect to pure Be metal.  相似文献

Low-oxygen SiC fibers which were fabricated by curing with electron-beam irradiation and firing at 1273 and 1573 K (fiber-A and fiber-B) were exposed at 1673 to 1973 K. Significant differences in surface composition, crystallinity, specific resistivity, and tensile strength were found between fiber-A and fiber-B. On exposing the fibers to high temperatures, they both crystallized nearly completely into intermixed β-SiC and free carbon, and consequently the resistivity decreased markedly. Deep voids were formed at the surface of fiber-A as a result of rapid dehydrogenation at the earliest stage of high-temperature exposure. On the other hand, fiber-B, which decomposed mildly, had a dense pore-free structure. The fiber strength was proportional to the reciprocal square root of SiC crystal size. At the same crystal size, the strength of fiber-A was lower because of the surface flaws.  相似文献

A thermodynamic assessment of the Bi-Sn-Zn ternary system was carried out by considering the experimental data including the phase equilibria and thermodynamic properties on the basis of the CALPHAD method. A set of optimized thermodynamic parameters has been obtained, which leads to a very good fit between calculation and experiments. In particular, the thermodynamic calculations in the Sn-rich portion are presented in view of the recent progress in Pb-free solder alloys.  相似文献

Wall slip and melt-fracture of polystyrene melts in capillary flow   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We investigated slip and unstable flow phenomena of polystyrene melts in capillaries from the view of the effects of temperature and molecular weight by using three polystyrene samples with different molecular weights (Mw = 192,000, Mw = 258,000, and Mw = 321,000). The slip velocities are estimated by the Mooney method and the modified Mooney method. We found that the slip velocity increases and the critical slip stress above which a slip starts to occur decreases with the temperature. We also observed the melt-fracture at above a critical melt-fracture stress higher than . We found that the onset of melt fracture is affected by the extensional stress near the entry region to the capillary in the barrel and the melt-fracture tends to easily occur with increase of the molecular weight, but is not sensitive to the temperature.  相似文献

In search of an efficient transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS), a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA)-based system with a polyamidoamine dendrimer was examined. Tamsulosin was used as the model drug. The dendrimer was found to act as the weak enhancer. By adding the dendrimer, the dendrimer-containing PHA matrix achieved the clinically required amount of tamsulosin permeating through the skin model. This is also the first report of the application of PHA and dendrimer to the TDDS.  相似文献

Sumikin Iron and Steel Corporation (SISC) is the main manufacturing base of seamless tube materials in Sumitomo Metals group, and stainless steel making plant is in charge of semi‐manufactured special steel products such as stainless and high alloy steel. Total manufacturing costs of these special steels are heavily dependent on the price of raw material. Therefore, reduction of its usage and optimizing operation process in order to absorb influence of its unstable price are important issues. In this report, we introduce three cases as following: yield improvement in order to reduce raw material usage, optimization of the steel dust usage, and active use of low‐price raw material through dividing refining process.  相似文献

On-demand type DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) system is one of the future target RVC (Road-to-Vehicle Communication) system in ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems). This paper investigates the permissible range of contents download volume focusing on the duration time of vehicle passage thought a spot and the download time of contents in addition to authentication process time. It is clarified that the most priority technical issue is the realization of the real-time characteristics in the On-demand type DSRC system.  相似文献

Phase equilibria on the Fe-Cu side in the Fe-Cu-X (X: Co, Cr, Si, V) system were experimentally determined over the temperature range of 1073–1273 K. Based on the present results and previous works, the thermodynamic assessments of the phase equilibria in the Fe-Cu-X system were evaluated using the Calculation of Phase Diagram (CALPHAD) method. The Gibbs energies (G) of the bcc, fcc, and liquid phases are described by the subregular solution model, and a set of thermodynamic parameters enable us to calculate various isothermal and vertical sections and the miscibility gaps of the solid and liquid phases.  相似文献
