The pool of free purine derivatives and activities of the key enzymes of purine metabolism (adenosine deaminase, purine nucleoside phosphorylase, and 5'-nucleotidase) in lymphocytes, erythrocytes, and epidermis homogenates were measured in 20 normal subjects and 15 patients with psoriasis by high-performance liquid chromatography. The levels of AMP, GMP, and IMP purine monophosphates are decreased in the epidermis and red cells of psoriasis patients, whereas the final products of hypoxanthine, xanthine, and uric acid metabolism are accumulating, and the activities of ADA and PNP are increased double in the skin, all this indicating purine derivatives catabolism. 相似文献

A new classification of motor disorders in patients after brain hemisphere's stroke as well as with its sequelae was proposed on the basis of clinical electromyographic studies. The classification validity was confirmed by mathematic statistic methods. The classification was composed of motor syndromes and is based on the following criteria: the severity of paresis, the correlation between gravity of paresis of the upper and lower limbs, muscular spasticity, alteration of integral estimation of active movements (the motor algorithm). The most informative signs of classification are the following: the paresis gravity, the degree of muscular spasticity, the alteration of motor algorithm, the parameters of stimulative electromyography. We describe a high performance acoustooptic tunable filter for add-drop application and for signal equalization in WDM telecommunication crossconnects. It results from a thorough investigation in TeO/sub 2/ of bulk collinear interaction, the geometry of which, particularly the direction of propagation of the acoustic wave, has been chosen in order to obtain the best compromise between the spectral resolution of the device and the acoustooptic figure of merit. Less than 40 mW of electric power is needed either to deviate 100% of a selected light wavelength /spl lambda/ at resonance, or to induce a 30-dB attenuation of its intensity. The sidelobes practically vanish for this configuration and the resolution is equal to 0.75 nm (or 94 GHz) for /spl lambda/=1.55 /spl mu/m. Polarization splitters combined with half-wave plates allow to completely get rid of polarization sensitivity problems. The use of optical fibers to collect the signal at the filter outputs, actually contributes to the high performance of the device as a whole. Experiments have been performed by multiplexing three signals in the input fiber, separated by 4, 2, and 1 nm. The transmission of the filter has been examined through the bar and cross state. 相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To clarify the mechanism of the suppressive effect of 2-buten-4-olide (2-B4O), an endogenous feeding suppressant, on the pulsatile secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH), by studying whether endogenous opioid peptides are involved in this suppressive effect. METHODS: Using ovariectomized (ovx) rats, blood samples were taken every 6 min for 2 h after administration of 2-B4O or saline into the third cerebroventricle (3V) and sequential i.v. injection of naloxone (0. 5 mg/kg per h) or saline. Rats were divided into three experimental groups: group 1: 3V saline + i.v. saline (control); group 2: 3V 2-B4O + i.v. saline; group 3: 3V 2-B4O + i.v. naloxone. Serum LH concentrations were determined by double-antibody RIA. To determine whether 2-B4O affected the biosynthetic activity of the opioidergic neurons within the ovx rat arcuate nucleus, we measured the concentrations of pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC) mRNA, a precursor of beta-endorphin, in the rostral arcuate nucleus using non-radioactive in situ hybridization and a computerized image-analysis system. RESULTS: 2-B4O significantly suppressed the pulse frequency of LH (group 2: 1.5+/-0.33 pulses/2 h, group 1: 2.43+/-0.2 pulses/2 h; P < 0.05), but naloxone blocked its suppressive effect and restored the pulse frequency (group 3: 3.29+/-0.36 pulses/2 h, group 2: 1.5+/-0.33 pulses/2 h: P < 0.01). There were no significant changes in the mean LH concentrations and amplitude. Furthermore, 2-B4O significantly stimulated the expression of POMC mRNA in the rostral arcuate nucleus. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that 2-B4O may impair the pulsatile secretion of LH by activating the opioid pathway within the hypothalamus. 相似文献
