Formation of liquid film downstream of an atomizer and its disintegration in gaseous medium

Results from experimental and calculation studies of liquid film downstream of a dual-orifice centrifugal atomizer are presented. It is revealed that film generated downstream of an atomizer with a specified geometry may exist in different forms, which depend only on the liquid flow rate.     

Powers and speeds in electromechanical systems: Hybrid propulsion systems in cars

Mathematical expressions for determining the moments and speeds of the elements of planetary gearboxes are obtained. The possible modes of the operation of an internal combustion engine (ICE) combined with two electric machines are shown. The relation between powers of electric machines and the geometrical parameters of the planetary gear is achieved.

Secondary diffraction of diffracted Gaussian beam of laser radiation

The diffraction of a narrow Gaussian beam of laser radiation on mutually perpendicular edges of crossed, superimposed sharp wedge-shaped blades (safety razors) has been studied. The diffraction pattern observed on a flat screen behind the blades comprises a very bright central spot, which exhibits the structure of a “light network” with rectangular cells, and four groups of narrow bright bands that expand from the central spot toward the periphery and form a rectangular cross. The spatial frequency of light-field modulation on the screen can be controlled by varying the distance from the blades to screen.     

Various methods for the deoxidation of a Cr-Ni-Mo-V steel during out-of-furnace treatment and their effect on the formation of nonmetallic inclusions

The effect of various methods of deoxidation during out-of-furnace treatment on the content and composition of nonmetallic inclusions in 15Kh2NMFA steel measured after out-of-furnace treatment and in forged pieces made from large ingots of this steel is studied.
