Silent myocardial ischemia in patients with different clinical forms of IHD

70 IHD patients underwent ambulatory Holter ECG monitoring two times. Out of 357 episodes of transitory ischemia registered in the course of exercise and presenting primarily as ST depression the proportion of silent episodes reached 75.6%. The number of episodes, their duration and mean value of ST depression were significantly greater in subjects 1 year after myocardial infarction. These patients more frequently developed ventricular arrhythmia and had ejection fraction below 50%. The findings evidence a significant clinical value of silent myocardial ischemia. It may serve a predictor of repeated acute coronary accidents in postmyocardial infarction patients.     

Interaction of a substance based on phytoecdysteroids (BTK-8L) with components of fractionated chromatin from intact rat liver

Results of the study of interaction of the phytoecdysteroid preparation (BTK-8L) with fractionated rat liver nuclear chromatin were described. It was shown that the interaction resulted in the "loosening" of the histone proteins structure both in active and repressed chromatin. At the same time the reparative DNA synthesis in the repressed fraction was stimulated. The Change revealed might be the basis of protective properties of BTK-8L as to chromatin at chloro and organophosphorus intoxications.     

The adaptation-protective effect of corticosteroids on the rat gastric mucosa and its mechanism

The influence of stress-induced corticosteroid production on gastric ulceration, blood flow velocity in gastric microvessels and blood pressure was studied in rats. The role of plasma corticosteroids was investigated by means of blockade of the pituitary-adrenocortical system (PACS) and following corticosterone replacement therapy (400 mu/100 g b.w.). The blockade which was induced by Fi. hydrocortisone administration (7 days before stress, 30 mg/100 g b. w.) resulted in an insufficient corticosteroid production. To evaluate the influence of corticosteroids on blood flow velocity in gastric microvessels of muscular, submucosal and mucosal coats it was used intravital microfilming by means of a dark-field contact epiobjective. Stress (water immersion + restraint) induces an ulceration, a decrease in the systemic arterial blood pressure (3 h after stress onset) and a decrease in blood flow velocity in the gastric microvessels (3 h after stress onset). In rats with insufficient corticosteroid production stress-induced ulceration, a decrease in blood pressure and gastric blood velocity were more greater than in rats with intact PACS. Replacement corticosterone therapy corrected all parameters. The results revealed that antiulcerogenic effect of stress-induced glucocorticoid production is realised owing to normalisation of gastric blood supply which is provided by an increase in systemic blood pressure.     

Antiradical activity and membranotropic action of cardio- and vasotropic compounds of varying chemical nature]

Antiradical activity and ability to interaction with phosphatidylcholine bilayer of the physiological active compounds (PhAC), concerning the classes of phenylalkilamines (dobutamine, verapamil), dihydro pyridines (BAY-K-4688, nifedipine), analogues of crown ether (carbicyle, diol) was studied. By means of the method of microcalorimetry and spectrophotometry it was shown the complexing ability PhAC with the phospholipid bilayer of the model membrane. It was stated the simbasity in the changes of the thermal effect of the compounds with the negative inotropic activity during its reaction with phosphatidylcholine bilayer and antiradical activity. That show on the presence of antiradical component in the mechanism that compounds' action.
