Interaction potentials and collision integrals for hydrogen and alkali metal atoms

Use of flexible pressure plane-turning rubber-cloth hoses for hydraulic transportation of abrasive materials

Conclusion The use of flexible rubber-cloth long plane-turning hoses in place of metal sludge pipes for transporting abrasive hydraulic mixes has several advantages and makes it possible to substantially increase the effectiveness of hydromechanization in different branches of the national economy of the USSR. Processes in Linear Pulse Electromagnetic Motors of Downhole Vibration Generators

The experimental research of processes running in a linear pulse electromagnetic motor of a downhole vibration generator is described. Based on the research findings, design requirements and recommendations on basic geometrical proportions of the equipment are formulated.     

A light-emitting diode monitoring system of the PHOS photon spectrometer in the ALICE experiment on the large hadron collider

A light-emitting diode (LED) monitoring system of the PHOS photon spectrometer in the ALICE experiment on the CERN large hadron collider is described. The spectrometer includes three modules in the form of 64 × 56 matrices consisting of plumbum tungstate (PWO) crystals. As test light signal sources, Kingbright L934SCC superbright green light-emitting diodes with an individual instrumental regulation of light flash intensities in each channel of the spectrometer are used. The system ensures adjustment and monitoring of the electronics at the stage of preparing for the physical trigger of the PHOS modules and is intended to perform special test measurements with the spectrometer without using high-energy particles. In addition, in the course of the experiment, it allows one to promptly monitor each channel of the spectrometer and keep track of temperature variations of the light yield of the PWO crystals. In this case, the long-term relative channel monitoring stability is ensured at a 1.2 × 10⁻³ level.     

A study of relations between physicochemical properties of crude oils and microbiological characteristics of reservoir microflora

The dependence of the population and activity of reservoir microflora upon the chemical composition and viscosity of crude oils has been investigated, since it allows the problem of improvement in the technologies and enhancement of oil recovery as applied to production of difficult types of oils with anomalous properties (viscous, heavy, waxy, high-resin) to be solved. The effect of the chemical composition of the oil on the number, distribution, and activity of reservoir microflora has been studied using data on the microbiological properties of reservoir water of 16 different fields in oil and gas basins of Russia, Mongolia, China, and Vietnam. Information on the physicochemical properties of crude oils of these fields has been obtained from the database created at the Institute of Petroleum Chemistry, Siberian Branch on the physicochemical properties of oils throughout the world. It has been found that formation water in viscous oil reservoirs is characterized by a large population of heterotrophic and sulfate-reducing bacteria and the water of oil fields with a high paraffin content, by population of denitrifying bacteria.     

National Russian Conference on the Occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Chair of Chemistry,Physics, and Processing of Polymers of Lomonosov Moscow State Academy of Fine Chemical Technology (MSAFCT)

The Scientific Conference was held on December 15, 1993. In addition to the 60th anniversary of the Chair, it was also dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the founder of the Chair, Professor Boris A. Dogadkin, who was a famous Soviet scientist in the area of natural and synthetic rubber. Professor Dogadkin had founded a scientific school in the Soviet Union, and following his ideas many plants had been built to produce synthetic rubber. Participants in the conference were 120 scientists from 20 research centers of the former Soviet Union. Most of these scientists graduated from the Chair of Chemistry, Physics, and Processing of Polymers.
