Investigation of electronic conductivity of liquid argon-nitrogen mixtures

Electron drift velocities and the electron attachment coefficients for electronegative impurities are measured in liquid argon-nitrogen mixtures. It is shown that nitrogen molecules have no electronegativity.     

A phase-shift-keyed-signal decoding method based on the analysis of the complex envelope via an artificial neuron network

A multilevel phase-shift-keyed-signal decoding method based on the analysis of the complex envelope with the help of a neural network is proposed. Received information symbol are determined with the use of a multilayer perceptron. The results obtained by means of computer simulation of decoding of a quaternary phase-shift keyed signal are presented. These results confirm the efficiency of the proposed method.     

Medical hydrogels based on bioactive compounds. Synthesis,properties, and possible application for preparing bactericidal materials

Several physicochemical analytical methods were used to study aqueous solutions and hydrogels based on L-cysteine and silver nitrate. It was found that anions played a decisive role in forming the threedimensional gel-network in dilute silver-cysteine solutions. The ability to use silver-cysteine solutions and hydrogels to prepare bactericidal fibers and fabrics was examined.     

Intrinsic Inhomogeneity: Application to the High Tc Oxides

Inhomogeneity of the doped compound leads to a possibility of observing a peculiar state that is characterized by normal resistance along with superconducting gap structure and diamagnetism. Such pseudogap state is observed in the high-T_c cuprates.     

Possibilities of using surgical laser in the treatment of chronic tonsillitis

A novel technique of surgical treatment of chronic tonsillitis is presented. It implies the use of Ne-YAG laser in contract regimen. Good results were obtained in experiments on the exposure of distal tonsils to intralacunar laser radiation.     

The assessment of microcirculation based on mathematical models of the hydrodynamics and oxygen transport in the microvessels (II)

Our previous communication No. 1 presents a mathematical definition of dynamic hematocrit and rate of erythrocyte movement, based on microvessel hemodynamics model. Now we offer a mathematical model of convective diffusion oxygen transfer in the erythrocytic cylinder-plasma system. Another definition of erythrocyte movement rate is offered and a solution of two equations which permitted its definition by measured parameters. A series of practical formulae for estimating microhemodynamics is derived, which can be used in clinical practice. The proposed model has been used in cardiosurgery department of Research Center of Surgery.     

Characterizable Radical Differential Ideals and Some Properties of Characteristic Sets

In this paper, the characterizability of radical differential ideals is discussed and the characterizability criterion for them is proved. This criterion is based on the known algorithm for decomposing a radical differential ideal into characterizable components. The inclusion problem is also considered, in the light of which the algorithm for minimal characteristic decomposition of principal ideals is discussed. This algorithm is improved by using the proven characterizability criterion. Differential and algebraic properties of autoreduced sets are discussed, and the structure of differential chains and characteristic sets of radical differential ideals is revealed. The corresponding algorithms are constructed and discussed.

Critical magnetic field in layered superconductors

The nature of the dependence H _c2(T) is greatly affected by the presence of magnetic impurities and their ordering at low temperatures. The scattering leads to a change in the sign of the curvature, and consequently to an increase in the value H _c2. The theory allows one to explain recent experimental data with the overdoped cuprates which exhibits behavior that is drastically different from the conventional picture.
