Molecular dynamics simulations of the docking of substituted N5- deazapterins to dihydrofolate reductase 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Orientations of the deazapterin ring and the conformational preferences of
groups appended to the deazapterin ring in a set of 8-substituted
deazapterin cations docked into the dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) binding
site have been investigated using a methodology based on the simulated
annealing technique within molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. Of five
possible binding pockets for the 8-substituents, identified from a
preliminary manual docking study, one has been definitively eliminated
after an analysis of MD trajectories, while another remains uncertain.
Using a new method based on standard thermodynamic cycles and a linear
approximation of polar and non-polar free energy contributions from MD
averages, binding affinities of the different ligands in each binding site
have been correlated with experimental dissociation constants. The study
has provided insights into structure-activity relationships for use in the
design of modified inhibitors of DHFR.

The fabrication of high aspect ratio microstructures using the X-ray lithography and electroplating step of the LIGA process
requires, that the metal layer on the substrate (plating base) enables a flawless resist adhesion and provides a high conductivity
for the following electroplating process. In addition, a flawless metal adhesion after electroplating has to be ensured. Typically
metal layers of titanium, but also of copper and gold are used. In case of higher structures, fluorescence radiation generated
in the metal layer during exposure reduces the bond strength between the resist and the adhesion layer [7]. Since the fluorescence
probability decreases with a decreasing atomic number, the suitability of conductive carbon as the plating base was investigated
and compared to results achieved with titanium. The resist adhesion was increased tremendously on the carbon layer but the
metal adhesion is insufficient. Therefore, platinum islands were deposited on the conductive carbon to facilitate good metal
adhesion. The resulting resist adhesion was still superior compared to titanium. In addition, metal adhesion was achieved

Infinitely thin opaque screens serving for diaphragms as defined in the visible-light optics are not feasible for operation with X-ray beams due to their high penetrability. Micro-openings of predicted sidewall shape in a gold layer up to 140 μm thick which would provide low transparency, are proposed. The proposed micro-openings were made using the LIGA technique and tested successfully at photon energies of up to 25 keV. Digital natives increasingly populate organizations?? management. These new-generation managers more naturally accept management support systems (MSS), but also have higher expectations about how they should accommodate their individual user preferences. As a result, managers question MSS that have been developed without configuration mechanisms to accommodate their working style, relevant MSS use cases, and different MSS access modes. The objective of this article is to reveal managers?? different MSS use situations and propose levers for tailoring (conceptual) MSS design to them. Use situations generalize classes of similar user-group preferences. We first apply findings from a literature review to cluster managers?? user-group preferences into 36 MSS use situations. Second, we propose that the selection of end-user devices can serve as a main lever for MSS configuration. Third, we complete the configuration with a MSS user-interface design. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) techniques for multimedia streaming have been shown to be a good enhancement to the traditional client/server methods when trying to reduce costs and increase robustness. Due to the fact that P2P systems are highly dynamic, the main challenge that has to be addressed remains supporting the general resilience of the system. Various challenges arise when building a resilient P2P streaming system, such as network failures and system dynamics. In this paper, we first classify the different challenges that face P2P streaming and then present and analyze the possible countermeasures. We classify resilience mechanisms as either core mechanisms, which are part of the system, or as cross-layer mechanisms that use information from different communication layers, which might inflict additional costs. We analyze and present resilience mechanisms from an engineering point of view, such that a system engineer can use our analysis as a guide to build a resilient P2P streaming system with different mechanisms and for various application scenarios. 相似文献

High aspect ratio variable capacitors have been fabricated using deep X-ray lithography and electroplating. Stiction phenomena applicable to high aspect ratio devices are presented, including the conditions for stiction to occur and the critical dimensions of structures. Actuation tests at 3 GHz are also presented and show a maximum capacitance of 0.86 pF with no actuation voltage and a minimum capacitance of 0.70 pF with an actuation voltage of 20 V just before pull-in, which gives a tuning range of 1.23:1. Corresponding Q-factor values are 49.3 and 70.8 respectively. After pull-in, the measured capacitance is 0.61 pF, corresponding to a tuning range of 1.41:1, with a maximum Q-factor of 102.9. 相似文献

To combine the advantages of the LIGA technology and piezoelectric materials, first prototypes of movable elastic LIGA structures have been realized on piezoelectric substrates. The structures consist of a flexible beam fixed to the piezoelectric substrate at its two ends in order to amplify the d31-contraction of the piezoelectric substrate. By using this flexible LIGA beam as a magnification mechanism, the small displacements of the piezoelectric substrate are amplified by more than a factor of 20, offering various possibilities of applications, especially in micro-optics. In this paper, first the fabrication process and the performance of these new prototypes of LIGA piezoelectric actuators are described in detail, demonstrating the feasibility of the new concept combining the LIGA technique and piezoelectric substrates. Subsequently, LIGA-piezoelectric actuators developed for micro-optical applications are presented. These new optical actuators are also based on an elastic beam but slightly modified in order to modulate light propagating in optical fibers.
