Eighteen and 23 FAA components were detected in the cyst wall and cyst fluid of E granulosus, respectively, by using automatic amino acid analyzer. The concentrations of most of the determined FAA were higher in the cyst fluid than those in the cyst wall, especially the taurine was 5-fold higher. Mebendazole treatment resulted in an increase in the concentration of alanine, valine, lysine, and taurine in both cyst wall and cyst fluid, the most notable being the alanine in the cyst wall. The results are interpreted as a coupling of glycolysis and amino acid metabolism, suggesting an involvement of FAA metabolism in the mechanism of Meb action. 相似文献

This article presents a new methodology to potentially quantify polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) isomers using high-resolution time of flight aerosol mass spectrometer (HR-AMS). The fragmentation of PAHs within the HR-AMS is such that significant signal remains at the molecular ion. After quantifying the molecular ion signal and taking into account potential interferences, the amount of the parent PAH in the aerosol may be inferred once its fragmentation pattern is also known. The potential of this approach was evaluated using mixed gasoline and diesel engine exhaust sampled under varying conditions. This dataset led to the identification and quantification within the aerosol mass spectra of the molecular ions associated with 53 PAH isomers, including both unsubstituted and functionalized species. An evaluation of anticipated interferences shows that interferences from larger molecular weight PAHs (i.e., PAH/PAH interferences) could be constrained based on the fragmentation behavior of PAHs from existing HR-AMS laboratory spectra. Other signal interferences for this data set are typically less than 5% of the total signal or, for 13C isotopic interferents, are well constrained by measurements of the dominant isotope. The experimental data reveal that the fractional PAH molecular ion signal remained stable despite dramatic temporal variability of the total particulate organic signal. The fractional contributions of the molecular ions for grouped PAH species and even individual compounds were remarkably consistent across experiments. The distribution of PAHs showed no apparent dependence on engine load or exhaust type. Full application of this approach will require a greater number of standard HR-AMS spectra for PAHs, so that the relationship between compounds and their molecular ions may be understood more precisely.Copyright 2015 American Association for Aerosol Research 相似文献

Hydrothermal treatment of a mixture of nickel chloride, silicic acid and sodium hydroxide at a relatively low temperature, 250 °C and pressure, 10 MPa gave a 1:1 nickel phyllosilicate, [Ni3Si2O5(OH)4] composed exclusively of hollow, open ended, multiwall nanotubular particles, up to 200 nm in length. No other phases, in particular no silicate platelets were seen. Previous reports on the hydrothermal preparation of tubular nickel phyllosilicate emphasized the need for high temperatures and pressures (ca 400 °C and 70 MPa), with lower temperature giving mostly small thin plate-like products. The tubular particles obtained also had larger outer diameters, 25–30 nm, and larger inner hollow cores, about 10 nm in diameter than nickel silicate nanotubes prepared at high temperatures and pressures. The XRD pattern of the product matched that of pecoraite, the nickel analogue of the tubular magnesium silicate mineral chrysotile. N2-sorptometry showed the product was mesoporous with a broad range of pore sizes centred around 170 Å, and a BET surface area of 110 m2/g. 相似文献

In this study, the temperature distribution of the surfaces of several substrates under an impinging gas jet from a cold spray nozzle was determined. A low-pressure cold-gas dynamic spraying unit was used to generate a jet of hot compressed nitrogen that impinged upon flat substrates. Computer codes based on a finite differences method were used to solve a simplified 2D temperature distribution equation for the substrate to produce nondimensional relationships between the surface temperature and the radius of the impinging fluid jet, the axial velocity of the cold spray nozzle, the substrate thickness, and the heating time. It was found that a single profile of the transient nondimensional maximum surface temperature could be used to estimate the dimensional maximum surface temperature, regardless of the value of the compressed gas temperature. It was found further that, as the thermal conductance of the substrate increased, the maximum surface temperature of the substrate beneath the gas jet decreased. Heat exchange between the substrate and the compressed gas jet during motion of the nozzle to produce heat conduction within the substrate was characterized by the nondimensional Peclét number. It was found that lower Peclét numbers produced higher temperatures within the substrate. The close agreement of the numerical results with the experimental results suggests that the nondimensionalized results may be applied to a wide range of conditions and materials. 相似文献

Machining chips of commercially pure Ti (ASTM grade 2) were consolidated into full density by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) with an average grain size as low as 0.8 μm, yield strength up to 650 MPa, and ductility of ~16%. Effect of recycling condition on the microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated in terms of ECAP temperature, number of passes and chemical composition. Using electron backscatter diffraction it is evident that continuous dynamic recrystallization (however, which is purely a phenomenological terminology) plays a significant role in grain (with misorientation ≥15°) formation, whilst benefitting from high stacking fault energy, this continuous conversion of subgrain (<15°) into grain can be essentially considered as an extended recovery with a substantial presence of low angle grain boundaries in the recycled Ti. The Hall–Petch relationship is adapted to explain the strengthening of the recycled Ti. Additionally, using scanning electron microscopy fractography, the ductility was analyzed by a modified Griffith criterion. Last, superior energy efficiency of ECAP reduces environmental impact when comparing to conventional melting/casting. This survey was launched after an unusual number of Salmonella Enteritidis outbreaks associated with the use of eggs in food service premises in England and Wales. Between November 2005 and December 2006, 9,528 eggs (1,588 pooled samples of 6 eggs) were collected from 1,567 food service premises in the United Kingdom, most of which (89%) were produced in the United Kingdom. Salmonella was isolated from 6 (0.38%) pools of eggs. Of these, 5 (0.31%) were Salmonella Enteritidis, which were further characterized to phage types (PTs): PT 4 (0.19%), PT 8 (0.06%), and PT 12 (0.06%). Salmonella Mbandaka was also isolated (0.06%). Salmonella was detected from five and one of pooled eggs samples that were produced in the United Kingdom and Germany, respectively; these were from different producers. The study showed evidence of poor egg storage and handling practices in food service premises, in that 55% did not store eggs under refrigerated conditions; 20.7% of eggs had expired "best before" dates or were in use after 3 weeks of lay, indicating poor stock rotation; and 37.1% pooled eggs not intended for immediate service. Eggs are a commonly consumed food that may occasionally be contaminated with Salmonella at different rates, according to their country of origin. The food service sector needs to be aware of this continuing hazard, receive appropriate food safety and hygiene training on storage and usage of raw shell eggs, adopt appropriate control measures, and follow advice provided by national food agencies in order to reduce the risk of infection. 相似文献

Particulate matter (PM) from biomass burning and diesel exhaust has distinct X-ray spectroscopic, carbon specific signatures, which can be employed for source apportionment. Characterization of the functional groups of a wide selection of PM samples (woodsmoke, diesel soot, urban air PM) was carried out using the soft X-ray spectroscopy capabilities at the synchrotron radiation sources in Berkeley (ALS) and Brookhaven (NSLS). The spectra reveal that diesel exhaust particulate (DEP) matter is made up from a semigraphitic solid core and soluble organic matter, predominantly with carboxylic functional groups. Woodsmoke PM has no or a less prevalent, graphitic signature, instead it contains carbon-hydroxyl groups. Using these features to apportion the carbonaceous PM in ambient samples we estimate that the relative contribution of DEP to ambient PM in an urban area such as Lexington, KY and St. Louis, MO is 7% and 13.5%, respectively. These values are comparable to dispersion modeling data from nonurban and urban areas in California, and with elemental carbon measurements in urban locations such as Boston, MA, Rochester, NY, and Washington, DC. 相似文献

Combined characteristics of hydrogen bonded/cross-linked polymer networks based on lignin motifs have been developed. This new type of polymeric material was prepared from an industrial lignin and a highly branched poly(ester-amine) (HBPEA) obtained by melt polycondensation of 1,1,1-triethanolamine (TEA) and adipic acid (AA). The lignin-HBPEA polymers were shown to be insoluble in common organic solvents and were characterized by FTIR and NMR spectroscopies. Thermo-mechanical measurements showed that melt mixing HBPEA with 40% lignin results in a flexible and tough material (Tg; 7.7 °C and E′ 3.5 GPa). The hydrogen bonding recognition was based on various hydroxyl groups in lignin and aliphatic ester groups from HBPEA. The extent of interactions could be controlled by varying the amount of lignin added. These networks were thermally reversible and have highly tunable mechanical properties that were controlled by the extent of interactions. High level of mechanical properties could be achieved through the addition of lignin-poly(ester-amine) covalent cross-links. This study shows that the poly(ester-amine) structure plays an important role in the thermo-mechanical properties. By varying the spacer length between lignin and tertiary amine unit, materials with various thermo-mechanical properties were also obtained from the same parent polymer backbone. 相似文献

Residuum lodges comprise small dams constructed on feeder streams immediately before they enter a reservoir, behind which ponds form, where sediment is deposited. Despite their construction on many impoundment reservoirs (IRE) and catchwaters, little research has previously investigated their efficacy at removing sediments from feeder streams. The current pilot study has, therefore, been carried out at an IRE supplying Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK, where a residuum lodge was recently cleaned out. Sediment concentrations reaching the reservoir were reduced by up to 42% although no certain impacts were noted on the other water quality variables that were measured. Moreover, it was found that the clearance operation did not result in the release of excessive quantities of sediment into the reservoir. It was estimated that the cleared residuum lodge would take 12 years to refill. A survey of other residuum lodges in the Yorkshire region showed there to be considerable differences in their remaining capacities. 相似文献
