pH and salt responsive poly(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) cylindrical brushes and their quaternized derivatives

We present the synthesis and characterization of poly(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) cylindrical brushes, their pH responsiveness, and the corresponding quaternized analog, poly{[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] trimethylammonium iodide} (PMETAI) brushes. PDMAEMA brushes were prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) using the grafting-from strategy. Initiating efficiencies of the ATRP processes were determined by cleaving the side-chains and gel permeation chromatography (GPC) analysis. Due to the slow initiation and steric hindrance, the initiating efficiency is only around 50%. The PDMAEMA brushes show worm-like structures and pH responsiveness, as proven by dynamic light scattering (DLS), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM) measurements. Strong cationic polyelectrolyte PMETAI brushes were produced by quaternization of the PDMAEMA brushes. AFM and cryo-TEM images showed similar worm-like morphologies for the PMETAI brushes. The PMETAI brushes collapsed in solution with high concentration of monovalent salt, as proven by DLS and AFM results.     

Effects and properties of poly(arylene ether benzonitrile)s of various molecular weights blended with sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone)

Poly(arylene ether benzonitrile) (PAEBN) was synthesized with 2,6‐dichlorobenzonitrile and biphenol. PAEBNs with various molecular weights (MWs), 1,640,000 and 185,000 g/mol, were synthesized by control of the stoichiometry of the monomers and were blended with sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK). The effects of MW on the water uptake, swelling, methanol permeability, and proton conductivity of the SPEEK/PAEBN blend membranes were investigated. The molecular mobility of the SPEEK/PAEBN blends was also examined in this study. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2008     

导向剂加入方式对Y型沸石合成的影响

以煤系高岭土为原料,采用液态补硅手段调节体系SiO2/Al2O3、导向剂两步加入法合成了Y型沸石.考察了导向剂不同加入方式对Y型沸石合成的影响.采用合理的导向剂两步加入法,特别是通过控制导向剂第二步加入的时间,可明显缩短Y型沸石的晶化时间,并有效地减少P型沸石的生成.

依据丰满漉域的水文气象资料,计算丰满流域可能最大暴雨,推求白丰区间的可能最大洪水并进行成果合理性分析.     

飞行人员骨密度与内分泌调节关系的探讨

对37名骨密度(BD)低下的飞行员(实验组)和BD正常的48名飞行员、100名地面人员(正常对照组)进行了BD和血清TT_3、TT_4、TSH IRMA、CT、PTH、E_2和T放射免疫测定。结果显示,实验组BD均值明显低于对照组(p<0.01),血清TT_3、TT_4、CT、E_2(女性)和T(男性)均值与对照组比较,大多数年龄存在着显著或非常显著差异(p<0.05或p<0.01)。同时对飞行人员BD与几种内分泌激素关系进行了探讨。     

用热分析法研究硝化棉的熔化过程

用ＭＤＳＣ，显微镜温台熔点测定仪和固体原位反应池／快速扫描傅立叶变换红外光谱联用装置考察了硝化棉的熔化过程。ＭＤＳＣ曲线表明吸热过程是可逆的，它系由ＮＣ和部分分解凝聚相产物的混合物的固液相变所引起。由ＮＣ的ＭＤＳＣ曲线得到的熔点，熔化含，熔化熵，分解含和分解反应热温熵分别为４７６．８４Ｋ，２０５．６Ｊ．ｇ＾－１，０．４３１２Ｊ．ｇ＾－１．Ｋ＾－１，－２４７５．０Ｊ．ｇ＾－１，－５．２４２Ｊ．ｇ＾－     

Pulmonary vasoconstrictor effects of prostacyclin in rats: potential role of thromboxane receptors

Endogenous prostacyclin (PGI2; epoprostenol) is a potent endothelium-derived pulmonary vasodilator. However, the effects of exogenous PGI2 on isolated arteries could be either relaxant or contractile, depending on the species and organ studied. The present study investigated the distal pathways involved in the PGI2-induced contraction in rat intrapulmonary artery (PA) and relaxation in lamb PA. When vessels were precontracted with 30 mM K+, PGI2 (1 microM) induced relaxation in lamb PA but caused contraction in rat PA. Use of 30 mM K+, phenylephrine, serotonin, angiotensin II, or hypoxia to precontract the vessels did not alter the contractile effect of PGI2 in rat PA. Nevertheless, PGI2 produced a mild relaxation in rat PA precontracted by U-46619, a thromboxane A2 (TxA2)-receptor agonist, whereas the TxA2-receptor blocker SQ-29548 (0.1-0.5 microM) abolished the contractile response in rat PA. These data suggest that PGI2-induced contraction is mediated by activation of TxA2 receptors. The PGI2-induced modest relaxation in rat PA, which was only observed when TxA2 receptors were blocked by SQ-29548, suggests that the PGI2-mediated vasorelaxant pathway is diminished in these vessels. Simultaneous application of forskolin, an adenylate cyclase activator, and rolipram, a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, caused similar relaxation in both rat and lamb PA. This suggests that the adenosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate-dependent relaxing pathway is intact in rat PA and is comparable to that in lamb PA. On the basis of these data, we conclude that the pathways responsible for the paradoxical effects of PGI2 on rat and lamb PA are located upstream of the adenosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate-dependent relaxing pathway and that a paucity of PGI2 receptors in rat PA may be responsible.

Minimum entropy and information measure

Kapur et al. (1995) introduced the MinMax information measure, which is based on both maximum and minimum entropy. The major obstacle for using this measure, in practice, is the difficulty in finding the minimum entropy. An analytical expression has already been developed for calculating the minimum entropy when only variance is specified. An analytical formula is obtained for calculating the minimum entropy when only mean is specified, and numerical examples are given for illustration
