The incidence of Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli in broiler farms was 33.9% (19/56). C. jejuni-positive flocks accounted for 20.0% (17/85) and C. coli-positive ones was 4.7% (4/85). There were 14 patterns (fla type) of restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) of flagellin A gene among these 22 strains of C. jejuni and C. coli including the standard strain C. jejuni ATCC 33560. Different fla types of Campylobacter were isolated from broilers in different growing cycles on the same farms. Four strains of C. jejuni were isolated from four breeder farms and four fla types of C. jejuni were detected from their progenies reared on growing farms. Three fla types of C. jejuni detected from the progenies were different from those of each breeder. Also, the other three fla types of C. jejuni were detected from different progenies of each growing farm during the next growing cycle. These findings indicate that the RFLP analysis may contribute to epidemiological studies of C. jejuni and C. coli contamination of broilers and suggest the risk of contamination with different types of Campylobacter in every growing cycle of broilers on the farm even on the same farm. They also supported that there was little likeliness of the vertical transmission of C. jejuni and C. coli from breeders to broilers.  相似文献

The distinction between geometry and dynamic interactions is fundamental for the consistent dynamic analysis of physical systems. A unified treatment of such systems is possible when we adopt a hierarchical mathematical model with a consistent set of embedded abstractions. This new view is adopted in the general formulation strategy for obtaining a simplified dynamics model of mechanical systems. We show that there exists a consistent general extension from the model of constrained particle-mass systems (PMS) to the model of multibody systems (MBS) based entirely on graph-theoretic concepts  相似文献

The fabrication using silicon micromachining and characterization of an acoustic Lamb wave actuator is presented. The intended use of the device is for mass transport and sensor applications. The device consists of dual interdigitated transducers patterned on a thin-film composite membrane of silicon nitride, platinum, and a sol-gel-derived piezoelectric ceramic (PZT) thin film. The acoustic properties of the device are presented along with preliminary applications to mechanical transport and liquid delivery systems. Improved acoustic signals and improved mass transport are achieved with PZT over present Lamb wave devices utilizing ZnO or AlN as the piezoelectric transducer  相似文献

Hygroscopic NaOH, CsI, CsOH and inert Ag aerosol behaviour at different temperatures and relative humidities (RH) has been studied in a well instrumented and controlled vessel of 1.81 m3 total free volume. Homogeneous thermal-hydraulic conditions for aerosol measurement in the vessel were achieved. The aerosol number and mass concentration were measured continuously during the experiments using a Condensation Nucleus Counter and a Tapered Element Oscillating Microbalance. The particle size distribution and chemical composition in the test conditions were measured by Berner low pressure impactors. In the case of NaOH the half life of the aerosol mass concentration was more than four times longer at low RH (22%) as compared to high RH (96%). The half lives of the CsOH and CsI aerosols were only twice as long at low RH as compared to high RH. Thus at high RH (96–97%) the half lives of CsOH and CsI were twice as long as the half life for the NaOH aerosol. The faster decay of the NaOH aerosol is due to the smaller density decrease of NaOH during water condensation. CsOH particles grew rapidly to their equilibrium size at all humidities. The measured equilibrium size for CsOH aerosol agree well with the calculated particle size at different RHs. Experimental results were also compared with calculations obtained by severe accident computer codes. These calculated results will be presented in a later paper.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Clearance of large molecules from the interstitial space is an important function of lymphatics and is affected by local pathologic changes. OBJECTIVE: To determine if the clearance rate of interstitially injected albumin is correlated to tumour characteristics and outcome in women with invasive breast cancer. METHOD: In a consecutive series of women coming to biopsy for suspected breast cancer, technetium-tagged albumin was injected into the tissue adjacent to the palpable mass. The isotope disappearance rate was measured over two hours. Also assessed were the maximum vessel density (MVD-using Factor VIII polyclonal antisera), the proliferation rate (using Ki-67 antisera), node status, tumour size, histologic and nuclear grade, mitotic rate, and p53 and c-erbB-2 oncoproteins. All patients were followed until relapse and for a minimum of 10 years. RESULTS: In multivariate analysis, an association between relapse-free survival and isotope clearance rate was suggested (p = 0.024). The best outcome was seen in patients with the least isotope clearance. Node status, size, histologic and nuclear grade, and mitotic rate correlated with survival. MVD did not correlate with survival and was inversely related to the isotope clearance rate. Tumour proliferation rate, and the c-erbB-2 and p53 oncoproteins did not relate to outcome. CONCLUSION: The role of lymphatics in breast cancer is difficult to study. Measurement of interstitial clearance may be a useful technique and could be a prognostic factor.  相似文献

We examined prostaglandin (PG) E2, 6-keto PGF1alpha, and thromboxane B2 (TxB2) production in cortical and medullary tubules from sham-operated control (SOC) rats and rats with bilateral ureteral obstruction (BUO) of 24 h duration. In SOC rats medullary tubules produced significantly greater amounts of the three eicosanoids than cortical tubules. Again, the production of PGE2, 6-keto PGF1alpha, and TxB2 by cortical and medullary tubules was significantly greater in BUO rats than in SOC rats. To elucidate the mechanisms involved, we examined the activity of phospholipase A2 (PLA2) reactive against phosphatidylcholine or phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), the activity of phospholipase C (PLC), and the levels of cyclooxygenase (COX) in cortical and medullary tubules from SOC and BUO rats. In SOC rats the activity of phosphatidylcholine-PLA2 and PE-PLA2, the activity of PLC, and the mass of COX were significantly greater in medullary tubules than in cortical tubules. On the other hand, the activity of PLC in membranes of cortical tubules and the activity of PE-PLA2 and PLC in membranes of medullary tubules, which were in active location, were significantly greater in BUO rats than in SOC rats. COX levels were also significantly greater in cortical and medullary tubules of BUO rats than in those of SOC rats. Thus, we indicate that medullary tubules from SOC rats have greater production of eicosanoids through increased activity of the PLA2 and PLC-COX pathway than cortical tubules from the same group of rats. Again, in rats with BUO, the tubular eicosanoid production may be enhanced via activation of the PLC-COX pathway in cortical tubules or through activation of the PE-PLA2 and PLC-COX pathway in medullary tubules. The enhanced production of tubular eicosanoids observed in rats with BUO may affect tubular function, particularly sodium and water reabsorption.  相似文献

As shown previously for two-dimensional geometries, anisotropy effects should not be ignored in electrical impedance tomography (EIT) and structural information is important for the reconstruction of anisotropic conductivities. Here, we describe the static reconstruction of an anisotropic conductivity distribution for the more realistic three-dimensional (3-D) case. Boundaries between different conductivity regions are anatomically constrained using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data. The values of the conductivities are then determined using gradient-type-algorithms in a nonlinear-indirect approach. At each iteration, the forward problem is solved by the finite element method. The approach is used to reconstruct the 3-D conductivity profile of a canine torso. Both computational performance and simulated reconstruction results are presented together with a detailed study on the sensitivity of the prediction error with respect to different parameters. In particular, the use of an intracavity catheter to better extract interior conductivities is demonstrated  相似文献

A fast transimpedance multichannel amplifier has been designed, fabricated in CMOS 1.2-μm technology and tested. Each channel consists of a current sensitive preamplifier followed by a voltage amplification stage and an on-chip buffer able to drive 50 Ω loads with an output range of ±800 mV. Measured peaking time at the output is 40 ns and the circuit recovers to baseline in 90 ns. This results in a counting capability of more than 107 hits/s, Signals of both polarities can be handled. The first two stages consume a total of 2 mW per channel and the 50 Ω buffer consumes another 17 mW. The equivalent noise charge (ENC) is 1100 e- rms with a slope of 40e-/pF. The IC is intended for use in gas and solid-state detectors with high particle rate and extensive charge release as in high energy calorimetry  相似文献
