Pt/Al2O3 and Pt-Mg/Al2O3 nano composites were successfully prepared by dendrimer templated synthesis route. The obtained dendritic nanoparticles were dispersed in alumina support and they were evaluated for SCR of NOx using methane as reductant. Thermal analysis results of uncalcined samples revealed that the oxygen can accelerate the rate of dendrimer shell decomposition. X-ray diffractograms of 500 degrees C calcined samples disclosed the amorphous nature of materials, whereas 1000 degrees C air calcined samples showed enhanced crystallinity as well as diffraction pattern corresponding to Pt and PtO. HRTEM images of Pt40-G4OH dendritic nanoparticles showed uniform particulate distribution with average particle size of 2.4 nm. The STEM results of 0.5 Pt/Al2O3 sample calcined at 500 degrees C exhibited a wide range of particles between 2 and 20 nm. This indicates the huge segregation of platinum metal particles during impregnation and subsequent calcination. Among the synthesized materials 0.5 wt% Pt/Al2O3 sample showed excellent conversion and selectivity for SCR of NOx.  相似文献

Bonding temperature optimization of SU-8 material for metal/adhesive hybrid bonding was investigated. The good bond quality of SU-8 adhesive can be achieved with the bonding temperature between 150 degrees C and 250 degrees C, while bond failures of SU-8 wafers are observed starting from 275 degrees C. IR transmittance spectra measurements indicate the crosslinks inside SU-8 break and further bond failure is observed due to the large decomposition of epoxy rings and phenyl in plane bending above 275 degrees C. This research provides guidelines of material selection and bonding parameters for heterogeneous integration, 3DIC and MEMS applications using metal/adhesive hybrid bonding.  相似文献

Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is an important and widely cultivated plant with both culinary and medicinal uses stemming from its biological activities, which include antibiotic, anticancer, anti-thrombotic, and lipid-lowering cardiovascular effects. Though such medicinal use of garlic existed for centuries, there was little scientific support for its therapeutic and pharmacological properties. However, there has been a recent upsurge of research on garlic aiming to understand its exact mechanism of action in each case so that garlic and its products may have more judicious future applications. Since garlic is vegetatively propagated, its improvement for desired traits through conventional means is difficult. The intervention of biotechnological methods such as tissue culture and gene transfer protocols developed recently hold great promise for improving this crop. Due to new innovations in instrumentation and processing technologies coupled with more judicious experimental models, better products are foreseen in the market. The objective of this article was to review the recent developments made towards understanding the mechanism by which garlic imparts different therapeutic effects as well as to review what biotechnology can offer to improve this crop and its products.  相似文献

Antagonism of Helicobacter pylori by bacteriocins of lactic acid bacteria   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Antimicrobial activity of seven bacteriocins produced by lactic acid bacteria against Helicobacter pylori strains (ATCC 43504, Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH [DSM] 4867, DSM 9691, and DSM 10242) was investigated in vitro using a broth microdilution assay. The bacteriocins chosen for the study were nisin A; lacticins A164, BH5, JW3, and NK24; pediocin PO2; and leucocin K. Antimicrobial activity of the bacteriocins varied among the H. pylori strains tested, of which strain ATCC 43504 was the most tolerant. Among the bacteriocins tested, lacticins A164 and BH5 produced by Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis A164 and L. lactis BH5, respectively, showed the strongest antibacterial activity against H. pylori strains. MICs of the lacticins against H. pylori strains, when assessed by the critical dilution micromethod, ranged from 0.097 to 0.390 mg/liter (DSM strains) or from 12.5 to 25 mg/liter (ATCC 43504), supporting the strain-dependent sensitivity of the pathogen. Pediocin PO2 was less active than the lacticins against four strains of H. pylori, and leucocin K was the least active peptide, with no inhibition toward H. pylori ATCC 43504. Anti-Helicobacter activity of lacticin A164 was dependent on initial inoculum size as well as concentration of the bacteriocin added.  相似文献

The objective was to determine the effects of bovine somatotropin (bST) and two artificial insemination (AI) protocols on reproductive performance of Holstein cows. Lactating cows (n = 840) were assigned at 37 d in milk (DIM) to one of four treatments in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement. Treatments consisted of either bST (500 mg/14 d) starting at 63 +/- 3 DIM or no bST (control), with cows either submitted for timed AI following a synchronized ovulation (Ovsynch) protocol or assigned to receive AI based on estrus detection (ED). Two injections of PGF2, at 37 +/- 3 and 51 +/- 3 DIM were used to presynchronize estrous cycles. Cows then received an injection of GnRH at 63 +/- 3 DIM, followed 7.5 d later by PGF2. Cows assigned to ED treatments were inseminated after observed estrus during a 7-d period. Cows in Ovsynch treatments received a second GnRH injection 48 h after the last PGF2alpha and received timed AI 16 to 18 h later. Pregnancy was diagnosed by ultrasound at 31 d after AI and confirmed 14 d later. Frequency of anovulation (18.5%) at 63 DIM was similar across treatments, but proportions of anovulatory cows decreased quadratically as body condition at 70 DIM increased from 2.25 to 3.75. Estrus detection rate after PGF2alpha tended to be lower in multiparous cows receiving bST, and bST reduced returns to estrus in nonpregnant cows. Conception rates were higher in cows receiving AI after ED and bST improved conception rates to first AI in cyclic cows by reducing embryonic mortality. Pregnancy loss was similar for cows inseminated following ED or the Ovsynch protocol. There was a positive impact of bST on fertility of cyclic cows inseminated at fixed time or at detected estrus, but effective resynchronization protocols are needed to optimize reinsemination of non-pregnant bST-treated cows.  相似文献

The chemical quality of forage may determine landscape use and habitat quality for some herbivorous species. However, studies that investigate the relationship between foliar chemistry and foraging choices in wild vertebrates are rare. Petauroides volans (the greater glider) is unique among Australian marsupial folivores because it glides. It also frequently consumes foliage from both major Eucalyptus subgenera, Eucalyptus (common name “monocalypt”) and Symphyomyrtus (common name “symphyomyrtle”), which differ markedly in their foliar chemistry. Such differences are thought to be a product of co-evolution that also led to guild-specific plant secondary metabolite (PSM) specialization among other marsupial eucalypt folivores. To explore whether foliar chemistry influences tree use, we analyzed foliage from eucalypt trees in which we observed P. volans during a radio tracking study and from eucalypt trees in which animals were never observed. We used a combination of chemical assays and near infrared spectrophotometry (NIRS) to determine concentrations of nitrogen (N), in vitro available nitrogen (AvailN), and in vitro digestible dry matter (DDM) from foliage sampled from the monocalypt and symphyomyrtle species, and total formylated phloroglucinol compounds (FPCs) and sideroxylonals (a class of FPCs) from the symphyomyrtle species (FPCs do not occur in monocalypts). Tree size and spatially-dependent, intraspecific variations in sideroxylonals and DDM concentrations in the symphyomyrtle foliage and of N, AvailN, and DDM in the monocalypt species were important indicators of tree use and habitat suitability for P. volans. The results i) demonstrate that guild-specific PSMs do not always lead to guild-specific foraging; ii) provide a compelling co-evolutionary case for the development of gliding in P. volans; and iii) have implications for the management and conservation of this and other folivorous species.  相似文献

The speciation of aluminum in solutions of alum and various prehydrolyzed, aluminum-based water treatment coagulants was investigated by 27Al NMR at 5 degrees C and 25 degrees C. Alum solutions were seen to contain only mononuclear species including an AlSO4(+) complex, while the prehydrolyzed coagulant solutions contained polynuclear aluminum species, as well. The relative proportions of both polynuclear species and AlSO4(+) complex decreased in cold water. The presence of organic matter had little effect on the speciation of aluminum in diluted alum, but markedly reduced the relative proportion of the tridecamer species in the prehydrolyzed coagulant solutions. The relationship between Al speciation in the coagulants and organic matter removal during jar tests was considered, and the possible role of sulfate in both the formation of the tridecamer species and the effect of organic matter on coagulation efficiency was discussed.  相似文献
