A potential driven self-assembly of sodium dodecyl sulfate/tungsten oxide aggregates at the electrolyte-electrode interface followed by template extraction and annealing yielded mesoporous thin films of electrochromic tungsten oxide (WO(3)). Electron microscopy images revealed that the films are characterized by a hitherto unreported hybrid structure comprising nanoparticles and nanorods with a tetragonal crystalline phase of WO(3) with the measured lattice parameters: a = 0.53?nm and c = 0.37?nm. In addition to pentagonal voids characteristic of the tetragonal WO(3) phase at the lattice scale, open channels and pores of 5-10?nm in diameter lie between the nanoparticles, which cumulatively promote rapid charge transport through the film. This resulted in colouration efficiency (η(max)~90?cm(2)?C(-1) at λ = 900?nm) and switching kinetics (colouration time = 3?s and bleaching time = 2?s for a 50% change in transmittance) higher and faster than previously reported values for mesoporous WO(3) films. Repetitive cycling between the clear and blue states has no deleterious effect on the electrochromic performance of the film, which is suggestive of its potential as a cathode in practical electrochromic windows.  相似文献

Calcium sulfate (CS) is one of the oldest bone graft materials still in use. Its main limitations are poor handling characteristics, poor mechanical properties, and a resorption rate that is too fast for some applications. The present study investigated the effect of viscous polymers, such as carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and hyaluronan (HY), on the handling characteristics, mechanical properties, and degradation behavior of CS. CMC and HY were added to CS at concentrations from 1–10 wt%. Addition of CMC to CS at more than 4 wt% produced a putty-like material and decreased the density of the composite, while also increasing flexural and compressive strength at higher loadings. Incorporation of CMC produced a concentration-dependent increase in water absorption and degradation rate. At an equivalent loading, HY-containing CS composites showed better compressive strength than CS with CMC. Overall, addition of CMC or HY to CS resulted in composite materials with better handling characteristics and improved mechanical properties after set, however the degradation rate of the augmented materials was increased. These properties suggest that the enhanced CS materials may be useful in certain clinical situations, such as filling non-uniform bone defects and situations that require mechanical integrity of the bone graft substitute during implantation.  相似文献

Nanowires (Co3O4 and NiCo2O4) and nanoplates (beta-Ni(OH)2) grown on Ni foam are successfully prepared by a template-free method and used as cathode electrodes for the electroreduction of H2O2, in an alkaline medium. Catalytic performance is investigated via cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry. The Co3O4 and NiCo2O4 nanowire electrodes exhibit much better catalytic activity, stability, and mass transfer properties for H2O2 electroreduction than pressed Co3O4 and NiCo2O4 nanoparticle/carbon/PTFE electrodes. A current density of 101.8 mA cm(-2) and 122.7 mA cm(-2) are respectively achieved on Co3O4 and NiCo2O4 nanowire electrodes at -0.4 V in 0.4 mol/L H2O2, and 3.0 mol/L NaOH solution at room temperature.  相似文献

A series of novel photoactive conjugated terpolymers based on N-alkyl carbazole, 9,9-didecylfluorene, and bis(thienyl)benzothiadiazole were synthesized by the Pd-catalyzed Suzuki polymerization method with various molar ratios of the carbazole derivatives. Electron-deficient benzothiadiazole and electron-rich carbazole moieties were incorporated into the polymer backbone to obtain the broad absorption spectrum and to improve the hole-transporting characteristics, respectively. The polymer solar cell (PSC) was fabricated with a layered structure of ITO/PEDOT: PSS/polymer:C71-PCBM (1:3)/LiF/Al. The best performance of PSC was obtained at P1:C71-PCBM whose reaches a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 2.62%, with a short circuit current density (J(SC)) of 8.61 mA/cm2, an open circuit voltage (V(OC)) of 0.82 V, and a fill factor (FF) of 0.37 under AM 1.5 G irradiation (100 mW/cm2).  相似文献

Zinc sulfide [ZnS] thin films were deposited on glass substrates using radio frequency magnetron sputtering. The substrate temperature was varied in the range of 100°C to 400°C. The structural and optical properties of ZnS thin films were characterized with X-ray diffraction [XRD], field emission scanning electron microscopy [FESEM], energy dispersive analysis of X-rays and UV-visible transmission spectra. The XRD analyses indicate that ZnS films have zinc blende structures with (111) preferential orientation, whereas the diffraction patterns sharpen with the increase in substrate temperatures. The FESEM data also reveal that the films have nano-size grains with a grain size of approximately 69 nm. The films grown at 350°C exhibit a relatively high transmittance of 80% in the visible region, with an energy band gap of 3.79 eV. These results show that ZnS films are suitable for use as the buffer layer of the Cu(In, Ga)Se2 solar cells.  相似文献

In this paper, we report the results of our investigation on the possibility of producing foam concrete by using a geopolymer system. Class C fly ash was mixed with an alkaline activator solution (a mixture of sodium silicate and NaOH), and foam was added to the geopolymeric mixture to produce lightweight concrete. The NaOH solution was prepared by dilute NaOH pellets with distilled water. The reactives were mixed to produce a homogeneous mixture, which was placed into a 50 mm mold and cured at two different curing temperatures (60 °C and room temperature), for 24 hours. After the curing process, the strengths of the samples were tested on days 1, 7, and 28. The water absorption, porosity, chemical composition, microstructure, XRD and FTIR analyses were studied. The results showed that the sample which was cured at 60 °C (LW2) produced the maximum compressive strength for all tests, (11.03 MPa, 17.59 MPa, and 18.19 MPa) for days 1, 7, and 28, respectively. Also, the water absorption and porosity of LW2 were reduced by 6.78% and 1.22% after 28 days, respectively. The SEM showed that the LW2 sample had a denser matrix than LW1. This was because LW2 was heat cured, which caused the geopolymerization rate to increase, producing a denser matrix. However for LW1, microcracks were present on the surface, which reduced the compressive strength and increased water absorption and porosity.  相似文献

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) represent a class of pharmaceuticals previously reported in aquatic ecosystems. SSRIs are designed to treat depression and other disorders in humans, but are recognized to elicit a variety of effects on aquatic organisms, ranging from neuroendocrine disruption to behavioral perturbations. However, an understanding of the relationships among mechanistic responses associated with SSRI targets and ecologically important behavioral responses of fish remains elusive. Herein, linking Adverse Outcomes Pathways (AOP) models with internal dosimetry represent potential approaches for developing an understanding of pharmaceutical risks to aquatic life. We selected sertraline as a model SSRI for a 28-d study with adult male fathead minnows. Binding activity of the serotonin reuptake transporter (SERT), previously demonstrated in mammals and fish models to respond to sertraline exposure, was selected as an endpoint associated with therapeutic activity. Shelter-seeking behavior was monitored using digital tracking software to diagnose behavioral abnormalities. Fish plasma levels of sertraline exceeding human therapeutic doses were accurately modeled from external exposure concentrations when pH influences on ionization and log D were considered. We observed statistically significant decreases in binding at the therapeutic target (SERT) and shelter-seeking behavior when fish plasma levels exceeded human therapeutic thresholds. Such observations highlights the strengths of coupling physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling and AOP approaches and suggest that internal dosimetry should be monitored to advance an understanding of the ecological consequences of SSRI exposure to aquatic vertebrates.  相似文献

It is well-known that box filters can be efficiently computed using pre-integration and local finite-differences. By generalizing this idea and by combining it with a nonstandard variant of the central limit theorem, we had earlier proposed a constant-time or O(1) algorithm that allowed one to perform space-variant filtering using Gaussian-like kernels. The algorithm was based on the observation that both isotropic and anisotropic Gaussians could be approximated using certain bivariate splines called box splines. The attractive feature of the algorithm was that it allowed one to continuously control the shape and size (covariance) of the filter, and that it had a fixed computational cost per pixel, irrespective of the size of the filter. The algorithm, however, offered a limited control on the covariance and accuracy of the Gaussian approximation. In this paper, we propose some improvements of our previous algorithm.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect of 3 methods of resynchronization of estrus and ovulation for lactating dairy cows of unknown pregnancy status on conception rate and time to pregnancy. Holstein cows (n = 495) were randomly assigned to 1 of 3 treatments: 1) control (n = 167), resynchronization with a timed AI protocol upon diagnosis of nonpregnancy on d 31 after preenrollment AI (PAI); 2) CIDR-G (n = 159), use of an intravaginal progesterone insert from d 14 to 21 after AI, with AI at estrus from d 21 to 24 and initiation of a timed AI protocol on d 24 after AI in cows not reinseminated; 3) CIDR-G + ECP (n = 169), the same treatment as CIDR-G but with an injection of 1 mg of estradiol cypionate at the time of progesterone insert removal. Cows were continuously reenrolled in the same treatment until diagnosed as pregnant, which resulted in a total of 1,148 AI (495 PAI and 653 resynchronized AI; RAI). Blood was collected from 1,001 cows on d 14, 21, and 24 after each AI for analysis of progesterone, and ovaries were scanned on d 21, 24, and 31 after AI. The presence of an active corpus luteum was presumed based on progesterone ≥1 ng/mL. Pregnancy was diagnosed by ultrasonography on d 31 and 61 after AI. The presence of an active corpus luteum and the incidence of luteolysis were similar for all treatments from d 14 to 24; however, luteolysis increased in the CIDR-G + ECP treatment from d 21 to 24. Conception rates for the PAI and all AI were similar on d 31 and 61 after insemination. Conception rates at 31 and 61 d after the RAI were also similar among treatments. Overall pregnancy loss for the PAI, RAI, and all AI were similar for all treatments. The accuracy of estrous detection, based on progesterone concentration within 2 d of detection of estrus, was similar for all treatments for the RAI and averaged 95.3%. The estrus-detection rate (EDR) decreased for the CIDR-G and CIDR-G + ECP treatments from d 14 to 21, but increased from d 21 to 24 compared with control cows; however, the EDR was smaller for cows in the CIDR-G treatment during the entire resynchronization period compared with those in the CIDR-G + ECP and control groups. The reinsemination interval was reduced in cows receiving the CIDR-G + ECP treatment compared with control cows because of increased EDR after removal of the intravaginal insert; however, the interval from study enrollment to pregnancy was not different among treatments. These results indicate that the reproductive performance of dairy cows did not differ among the 3 resynchronization treatments evaluated.  相似文献
