Adding distributed generation (DG) is a desirable strategy for providing highly efficient and environmentally benign services for electric power, heating, and cooling. The interface between a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), typical loads, and the electrical grid is simulated in Matlab/Simulink and analyzed to assess the interactions between DG and the electrical grid. A commercial building load profile is measured during both steady-state and transient conditions. The load data are combined with the following models that are designed to account for physical features: a One-Cycle Control grid-connected inverter, a One-Cycle Control active power filter, an SOFC, and capacitor storage. High penetration of DG without any power filter increases the percentage of undesirable harmonics provided by the grid, but combined use of an inverter and active power filter allows the DG system interconnection to improve the grid tie-line flow by lowering total harmonic distortion and increasing the power factor to unity.  相似文献

The fracture properties of the tempered martensitic steel Eurofer97, which is among the main candidates for fusion power plant structural applications, were studied with two sizes of pre-cracked compact specimens (0.35T C(T) and 0.87T C(T)). The fracture toughness behavior was characterized within the temperature range −80 to −40 °C. The ductile-to-brittle transition reference temperature, as defined in the ASTM standard E1921, was around T0 ≈ −75 °C. At −60 °C, it was found that two sets of toughness data obtained with 0.35T and 0.87T C(T) specimens are not consistent with the size adjustments recommended in the ASTM standard. It was then shown that the underlying reason of this inconsistency is an inappropriate specimen size limit of the ASTM standard for this type of steel. From published fracture toughness data on the tempered martensitic steel F82H steel, similar results were also highlighted. 3D finite elements simulations of the compact specimens were performed to compare the stresses and deformations at the onset of fracture. A local approach model based on the attainment of a critical stress and a critical volume was used to study the constraint loss phenomenon. Within the framework of this model, the strong toughness increase by reducing the specimen size could be satisfactorily explained.  相似文献

Seventy-three high producing Holstein cows were arranged in a 3 X 2 factorial to evaluate three protein supplements (soybean meal, heat-treated soybean meal, and extruded blend of soybeans and soybean meal) without or with 15 g/head/d of ruminally protected DL-methionine during wk 4 through 16 postpartum. Total mixed diets contained (DM basis) 30% corn silage, 15% alfalfa hay, and 55% of the respective concentrate mix. Milk production was higher when cows were fed either heated soybean product instead of soybean meal. Methionine supplementation increased production when fed with soybean meal (32.2 and 33.8 kg/d) but not when fed with heat-treated soybean meal (34.5 and 33.0 kg/d) or extruded soybeans (36.2 and 34.4 kg/d). Milk fat percentages were lower with extruded soybeans (3.01, 2.93, and 2.66) and were similar without (2.83) or with (2.90) supplemental methionine. Milk protein percentages were highest when fed soybean meal, lowest with extruded soybeans (3.02, 2.92, and 2.87), and higher with supplemental methionine (2.91 and 2.96). Dry matter intake was higher when fed supplemental methionine (20.0 and 21.3 kg/d). Production of milk in early lactation high producing dairy cows was increased by supplementing a soybean meal diet with ruminally protected methionine or by replacing the soybean meal with heat-treated soybean meal, soybeans, or a mixture of the two.  相似文献

Extraction of heavy metals from soils using biodegradable chelating agents   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
Metal pollution of soils is widespread across the globe, and the clean up of these soils is a difficulttask. One possible remediation technique is ex-situ soil washing using chelating agents. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a very effective chelating agent for this purpose but has the disadvantage that it is quite persistent in the environment due to its low biodegradability. The aim of our work was to investigate the biodegradable chelating agents [S,S]-ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (EDDS), iminodisuccinic acid (IDSA), methylglycine diacetic acid (MGDA), and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) as potential alternatives and compare them with EDTA for effectiveness. Kinetic experiments showed for all metals and soils that 24 h was the optimum extraction time. Longer times only gave minor additional benefits for heavy metal extraction but an unwanted increase in iron mobilization. For Cu at pH 7, the order of the extraction efficiency for equimolar ratios of chelating agent to metal was EDDS > NTA> IDSA > MGDA > EDTA and for Zn it was NTA > EDDS > EDTA >MGDA > IDSA. The comparatively low efficiency of EDTA resulted from competition between the heavy metals and co-extracted Ca. For Pb the order of extraction was EDTA > NTA >EDDS due to the much stronger complexation of Pb by EDTA compared to EDDS. At higher concentration of complexing agent, less difference between the agents was found and less pH dependence. There was an increase in heavy metal extraction with decreasing pH, but this was offset by an increase in Ca and Fe extraction. In sequential extractions EDDS extracted metals almost exclusively from the exchangeable, mobile, and Mn-oxide fractions. We conclude that the extraction with EDDS at pH 7 showed the best compromise between extraction efficiency for Cu, Zn, and Pb and loss of Ca and Fe from the soil.  相似文献

This article presents an agent-based microsimulation capable of forecasting the effects of policy levers that influence individual choices of new passenger cars. The fundamental decision-making units are households distinguished by sociodemographic characteristics and car ownership. A two-stage model of individual decision processes is employed. In the first stage, individual choice sets are constructed using simple, non-compensatory rules that are based on previously owned cars. Second, decision makers evaluate alternatives in their individual choice set using a multi-attributive weighting rule. The attribute weights are based on a multinomial logit model for cross-country policy analysis in European countries. Additionally, prospect theory and the notion of mental accounting are used to model the perception of monetary values. The microsimulation forecasts actual market observations with high accuracy, both on the level of aggregate market characteristics as well as on a highly resolved level of distributions of market shares. The presented approach is useful for the assessment of policies that influence individual purchase decisions of new passenger cars; it allows accounting for a highly resolved car fleet and differentiated consumer segments. As a result, the complexity of incentive schemes can be represented and detailed structural changes can be investigated.  相似文献

We show that, under in vitro conditions, the vulnerability of astroglia to hypoxia is reflected by alterations in endothelin (ET)-1 release and capacity of erythropoietin (EPO) to regulate ET-1 levels. Exposure of cells to 24 h hypoxia did not induce changes in ET-1 release, while 48–72 h hypoxia resulted in increase of ET-1 release from astrocytes that could be abolished by EPO. The endothelin receptor type A (ETA) antagonist BQ123 increased extracellular levels of ET-1 in human fetal astroglial cell line (SV-FHAS). The survival and proliferation of rat primary astrocytes, neural precursors, and neurons upon hypoxic conditions were increased upon administration of BQ123. Hypoxic injury and aging affected the interaction between the EPO and ET systems. Under hypoxia EPO decreased ET-1 release from astrocytes, while ETA receptor blockade enhanced the expression of EPO mRNA and EPO receptor in culture-aged rat astroglia. The blockade of ETA receptor can increase the availability of ET-1 to the ETB receptor and can potentiate the neuroprotective effects of EPO. Thus, the new therapeutic use of combined administration of EPO and ETA receptor antagonists during hypoxia-associated neurodegenerative disorders of the central nervous system (CNS) can be suggested.  相似文献

The fate of chemical warfare agents (CWAs) in aqueous environments is not well characterized. Limited physical and kinetic data are available in the open literature for this class of chemicals, in part due to the dangers associated with exposure to these compounds. As a result, the development of methods for determining the persistence and extent of impact of a waterborne chemical agent release remains largely unanswered. In this study a basic hydrolysis model was developed to track the fate of VX (O-ethyl S-(2-diisopropylaminoethyl) methylphosphonothiolate) from an instantaneous point source aqueous release. Hydrolysis product generation tracking was developed to determine the instantaneous pH within the local dispersive environment. Using instantaneous local pH values, the impact of pH on the persistence of VX hydrolysis rate was investigated for three different aqueous environments with varying dispersive conditions. Modeling results indicate that an accurate characterization of the pH dependence of the hydrolysis rate constant becomes more important in lower pH and lower turbulence environments. With this basic model, estimates of the time and extent of lethality of a VX release can be made.  相似文献
