The low-frequency internal friction and the modulus have been measured on Ti–Ni alloys of varying compositions, from Ni 49.89 to 51.0 at. %, in a wide range of temperatures covering the martensitic and the reverse transformations. The effect of heat treatment on the internal friction has also been investigated. The internal friction shows a sharp peak around the martensitic transformation and/or the formation of pre-martensitic state ‘R-phase’. The height and temperature of the peak depend strongly on the composition and on the heat treatment. Corresponding to the internal friction peak a remarkable depression of the modulus has been observed. At temperatures lower than 250 K two types of temperature dependences were observed; one is a step-type that changes slowly with temperature, and the other is a peak-type around 200 K. An annealing at 873 K has enhanced the low-temperature internal friction, while the solution heat treatment at 1273 K has appreciably decreased it. In all cases the damping of the parent phase is very low; the internal friction is lower than 10·10−4. The electrical resistivity and the thermoelectric power have been measured.  相似文献

Observations of boiling behaviors and measurements of critical heat flux (CHF) were carried out for saturated water boiling on a horizontal, upward-facing plate at pressures from atmospheric to 7 MPa. The primary bubbles diminish in size almost in inverse proportion to pressure and commence to coalesce in the very low heat flux region. The diameter of detached coalesced bubbles increases with increases in the heat flux and reaches about 10 mm even at a pressure of 5 MPa. Detachment frequency of the coalesced bubbles was unaffected by the heat flux and pressure. The CHF predicted based on the macrolayer dryout model agrees well with the measured data.  相似文献

First-order reliability method (FORM) is considered to be one of the most reliable computational methods. In the last decades, researchers have examined the shortcomings of FORM, primarily accuracy and the difficulties involved in searching for the design point by iteration using the derivatives of the performance function. In order to improve upon FORM, several structural reliability methods have been developed based on FORM, such as second-order reliability method (SORM), importance sampling Monte-Carlo simulation, first-order third-moment reliability method (FOTM), and response surface approach (RSA). In the present paper, moment methods for structural reliability are investigated. Five moment method formulas are presented and investigated, and the accuracy and efficiency of these methods are demonstrated using numerical examples. The moment methods, being very simple, have no shortcomings with respect to design points, and requires neither iteration nor the computation of derivatives, and thus are convenient to be applied to structural reliability analysis.  相似文献

The Revised NEO Personality Inventory domains of Neuroticism and Agreeableness are considered factorially distinct despite several intercorrelations between these domains. The genetic correlation, an index of the degree to which these intercorrelations are caused by genetic influences, was estimated using data from 913 monozygotic and 562 dizygotic volunteer twin pairs from Canada, Germany, and Japan. The serotonin transporter gene, 5-HTTLPR, was assayed in a sample of 388 nontwin sibling pairs from the US to determine the contribution of the serotonin transporter locus to the covariation between the Neuroticism and Agreeableness scales. In all four samples, genetic influences contributed to the covariance of Neuroticism and Agreeableness, with the serotonin transporter gene accounting for 10% of the relationship between these domains. The isomerization of 2,3-dimethylbut-1-ene and the decomposition of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol were carried out over a number of solid base catalysts. Rubidium amide supported on alumina was the most active for the isomerization, which proceeds almost to the equilibrium in 10 min at 201 K. The isomerization is a very useful test reaction for determining the relative activities of very strong solid bases. However, weak solid bases such as K+-exchanged Y zeolite are totally inactive for the isomerization. The decomposition of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol is a suitable reaction to discriminate acidic and basic catalysts. It can be also used for estimating the basic property of weak bases such as lithium hydroxide supported on alumina. However, caution is necessary for strongly basic catalysts because of strong adsorption of the products, acetylene and acetone.  相似文献

High-performance poly-Si TFTs were fabricated by a low-temperature 600°C process utilizing hard glass substrates. To achieve low threshold voltage (VTH) and high field-effect mobility (μFE), the conditions for low-pressure chemical vapor deposition of the active layer poly-Si were optimized. Effective hydrogenation was studied using a multigate (maximum ten divisions) and thin-poly-Si-gate TFTs. The crystallinity of poly-Si after thermal annealing at 600°C depended strongly on the poly-Si deposition temperature and was maximum at 550-560°C. The VTH and μFE showed a minimum and a maximum, respectively, at that poly-Si deposition temperature. The TFTs with poly-Si deposited at 500°C and a 1000-Å gate had a V TH of 6.2 V and μFE of 37 cm2/V-s. The high-speed operation of an enhancement-enhancement type ring oscillator showed its applicability to logic circuits. The TFTs were successfully applied to 3.3-in.-diagonal LCDs with integration of scan and data drive circuits  相似文献

To fully utilize a limited gain bandwidth of about 35 nm (4.4 THz) in an erbium-doped fiber amplifier, an increase in signal spectral efficiency is required. In this paper, we investigate the key technologies to achieve terabit/second wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) systems with over 1 bit/s/Hz spectral efficiency. Optical duobinary signals, which have narrower optical spectra than conventional intensity modulation signals, were applied to such dense WDM systems. The measured minimum channel spacing for 20-Gbit/s optical duobinary signals was 32 GHz and a spectral efficiency of over 0.6 bit/s/Hz was reached. By using polarization interleave multiplexing, spectral efficiency was expected to reach 1.2 bit/s/Hz in an ideal case with no polarization dependencies along the transmission lines. In such ultradense WDM systems with narrower channel spacing, stabilizing the wavelengths of laser diodes is an important issue for achieving stable operation over long periods. To do this, we developed a simple and flexible wavelength stabilization system which uses a multiwavelength meter. The wavelengths for 116 channels with 35-GHz spacing were stabilized within ±150 MHz. The stabilization system is applicable to ultradense WDM signals with a spectral efficiency of over 1 bit/s/Hz by employing wavelength interleave multiplexing and an optical selector switch. On the basis of these investigations, we demonstrated a 2.6-Tbit/s (20 Gbit/s×132 channels) WDM transmission by using optical duobinary signals. In addition, 1.28-Tbit/s (20 Gbit/s×64 channels) WDM transmission with a high spectral efficiency of 1 bit/s/Hz was achieved by using polarization interleave multiplexing  相似文献
