This paper describes our ongoing attempts to build a communityware system by presenting a project of providing digital assistants to support participants in an academic conference. We provided participants at the conference with a personal assistant system with mobile and ubiquitous computing technologies and facilitated communication among the participants. We also made online services available via the Web to encourage the participants to continue their relationships even after the conference. In this paper, we show the system we provided for the project and report the results.  相似文献

Since an M/D/1 queue is represented by a Markov chain, we can consider the set of all the M/D/1 queues as a subset of Markov chains. A geometric structure is induced from the geometric structure of the set of Markov chains, which forms an exponential family. In this paper, we show that in the large deviation of the tail probability of the queue length of an M/D/1, the rate function and a twisted Markov chain, etc., are represented in terms of the geometry. Moreover, in the importance sampling (IS) simulation for the M/D/1 queue, we elucidate the geometric relation between the underlying distribution and a simulation distribution, and evaluate the variance of an IS estimate by geometric quantities.  相似文献

There are various kinds of analog CMOS circuits in microprocessors. IOs, clock distribution circuits including PLL, memories are the main analog circuits. The circuit techniques to achieve low power dissipation combined with high performance in newest prototype chip in the Super H RISC engines are described. A TLB delay can be decreased by using a CAM with a differential amplifier to generate the match signal. The accelerator circuit also helps to speed up the TLB circuit, enabling single-cycle operation. A fabricated 96-mm2 test chip with the super H architecture using 0.35-m four metal CMOS technology is capable of 167-MHz operation at 300 Dhrystone MIPS with 2.0-W power dissipation.  相似文献

Electron-spin resonance (ESR) for the charge-ordered state in well-characterized Pr0.65Ca0.35MnO3 exhibited significant change of both the absorption profile and the effective spin susceptibility upon injection of laser light with photon energy of 1.17 eV provided by Nd-YAG laser. The increase of the effective spin susceptibility was clearly found out thanks to the injection of photons in the temperature range 90 K–80 K, which is below the transition temperature from the antiferromagnetic charge ordered state to the canted antiferromagnetic spin alternation state, T CAF125 K. The temperature dependence of the change of the ESR profile excludes the possibility of heating by laser light. The present result suggests that a kind of photo-induced insulator–metal transition may occur due to propagation of the delocalized carriers via probable double exchange interaction in the charge-ordering collapsed state created by the injection of photons.  相似文献

The magnetic behavior of the distorted perovskite manganese, Pr0.65Ca0.35MnO3 was studied by X-band electron spin resonance for powder samples. We observed the onset of the charge-ordered state at T CO215 K, the antiferromagnetic transition with the peak of the ESR linewidth, H p–p at T AF180 K and the canted antiferromagnetic transition at T CAF125 K associated with the abrupt increase of both the effective magnetization and H p–p . Below 90 K, the absorption intensity profile becomes weakened with decreasing temperature suggesting the existence of some kind of magnetic disorder below 90 K, which is responsible for a part of evidence of the existence of the spin-glass state as has been proposed by Yoshizawa et al., Phys. Rev. B 52, 1689 (1996).  相似文献

We developed new heat-resisting transparent conductive oxide (TCO) films with resistivity of 1.4×10−4 Ω cm, an optical transmittance of above 80% (at 550 nm) and heat-resisting temperature at above 600 °C. The TCO films consists of fluorine-doped tin oxide films coated on indium–tin oxide films. They were prepared by a spray pyrolysis deposition method on glass substrates. The 100×100 mm2 dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) were prepared with the TCO films. An energy conversion efficiency of the DSC was improved drastically in comparison to the case with conventional TCO films.  相似文献

Surface activity of aqueous solutions of cellulose acetate (CA) with total degree of substitution (〈F〉) ranging from 0.58 to 0.80 was examined. Critical micelle concentration (CMC) of the aqueous CA solutions, determined from the polymer concentration dependence of surface tension (γ), is unequivocally determined by 〈F〉, and an increase in 〈F〉 of CA brings about a lowering of the CMC. From light scattering measurements on aqueous solutions of CA with 〈F〉 = 0.8 at 20°C, it was revealed that in the vicinity of the CMC the micelles in the solution consist of c. four CA molecules, which is very close to the value obtained by analysing the data obtained from the mass action model. The surface tension of aqueous solutions of CA (〈F〉 = 0.8) in the polymer concentration range above the CMC was c. 0.74 times that of pure water over the temperature range 0–80°C.  相似文献

Behavior of pseudo-fission products (Ba, Sr, and Zr) as oxides in UO2 has been investigated by means of high-temperature X-ray diffraction and microprobe analysis. Two identifiable compounds were formed as reaction products in the mixed oxides which initially consisted of UO2, BaO, SrO, and ZrO2 powder. These compounds were present and were identified crystallographically as (Ba, Sr) ZrO3 and (Ba, Sr)UO3 after heat treatment of the powders at 1500°C for 30 min. Both compounds are isostructural with perovskite, CaTiO3, and the lattice parameters of both (Ba, Sr)ZrO3 and (Ba, Sr)UO3 decrease with increasing content of Sr. (Ba, Sr)UO3 is decomposed almost completely at 1800°C while (Ba, Sr) ZrO3 is stable up to 2000°C. The behavior of Ba, Sr, and Zr in fuel under irradiation is discussed.  相似文献

We have cloned the gene encoding a beta-fructofuranosidase from Arthrobacter globiformis IFO 3062, and subsequently, the gene was heterologously expressed in Escherichia coli. This beta-fructofuranosidase gene encodes a protein of 548 amino acid residues with a calculated molecular mass of 60,519 Da. We have examined the roles of three residues of A. globiformis IFO 3062 beta-fructofuranosidase by site-directed mutagenesis, and found that aspartic acid 130 and glutamic acid 392, which are two of the apparent catalytic residues, are essential for hydrolase activity. This study provides the first experimental evidence showing that these two amino acid residues of beta-fructofuranosidase play a critical role in hydrolyzing sucrose.  相似文献
