In the present study, the effect of mechanical tensile stress on oxygen mobility in 8 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia (8YSZ) was investigated. The experimental results show that the ionic conductivity increases with stress and saturates. The maximum improvement in the conductivity was about 18% observed at 973 K. The simulation results show that the diffusion coefficient increases with stress and decreases with excessive stress. The maximum improvement was about 40% observed at 973 K. The improvement was larger at lower temperatures in both the experiment and the simulation. The strain caused by the stress is considered to have caused the gradient in the potential energies of the neighbouring oxygen sites, especially around the yttrium ions, which probably facilitated the migration of the oxygen ions.  相似文献

Two‐pole large generators are extensively used in power utilities. Growing demand for electric power in recent years has led to substantial increases in the capacity of generators. In line with this trend, our company has manufactured two‐pole turbine generators in the 900,000‐kVA to 1,200,000‐kVA classes. As the capacity of generators becomes larger, equivalent circuits are increasingly expected to improve their precision in estimating operation characteristics. The Park model has been widely used as an equivalent circuit model. The Park model with quadrature axis transient reactance $x_{q}^{\prime}$ is claimed to be useful for accurately estimating the load rejection characteristics of turbine generators. However, it is difficult to measure $x_{q}^{\prime}$, few studies based on measured data have appeared. As one of the few examples, we have conducted a measured data on a 500,000‐kVA‐class generator. Recently, the authors obtained test data on $x_{q}^{\prime}$ of a 900,000‐kVA‐class generator. In this study, based on these data, we studied the effect of $x_{q}^{\prime}$ using the finite element method and a transient analysis program (EMTP‐ATP). © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Thermoelectric materials have received much attention recently from the viewpoint of global environmental issues and effective utilization of energy resources. Especially those effective at relatively low temperature, such as below 100°C, which are usually abandoned without use, have become noteworthy recently. From this point of view, organic thermoelectric materials are most attractive, because they could be prepared at low cost and applied in various locations due to their flexibility. We have investigated the thermoelectric properties of organic conducting polymers such as polyaniline, polypyrrole, and polyphenylenevinylene, and succeeded in increasing the thermoelectric performance by selecting dopants, stretching conducting films, etc. Recently we have focused on new systems of organic–inorganic hybrid thermoelectric materials. Herein we present the preparation of a novel system of hybrids of polyaniline and bismuth(III) telluride nanoparticles, starting from bismuth(III) chloride and tetrachlorotellurium by using polyvinylpyrrolidone as a protecting reagent, as well as their thermoelectric properties. The hybrids prepared by this particular method showed much higher thermoelectric performance than the starting organic conducting polymer.  相似文献

Bifurcation mechanism underlying echelon-mode formation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper presents a theory on the underlying mathematical mechanism of the echelon mode (a series of parallel short wrinkles that looks like a flight of stairs or wild geese arranged in formation) which has been observed ubiquitously with uniform materials, but which has long denied successful numerical simulations. It is shown by means of the group-theoretic bifurcation theory that the echelon mode formation can be explained as a recursive (secondary, tertiary, …) symmetry-breaking bifurcation if O(2) × O(2) is chosen as the underlying symmetry to model the local uniformity of materials. This implies, for example, that the use of periodic boundaries is essential to successfully realize the oblique stripe patterns and the subsequent echelon mode formation in numerical simulations. In fact, a recursive bifurcation analysis of a rectangular domain with periodic boundaries subject to uniform uniaxial compression yields various kinds of patterns, such as diamond, stripe and echelon modes, which are often observed for materials under shear.  相似文献

To avoid the risk of long-term storage of secrets on a portable device, an online credential system supports the roaming user in retrieving securely at various locations his private key and other material to generate anonymous signatures. The protocol proposed here allows a roaming mobile user to access anonymously services such as whistle blowing and net-counselling. Our approach: (1) allows a mobile user, remembering a short password, to anonymously and securely retrieve the credentials necessary for his anonymous communication without assuming a pre-established anonymous channel to the credential server or establishing an anonymous channel using the time-consuming existing rerouting techniques; (2) provides authenticated anonymous access to privacy-related services without rerouting the packets; (3) helps combatting the abuse of anonymity for performing illegal activities (e.g. redistribution of copy-righted contents, illegal drug trading and so on).  相似文献

Elemental concentrations (Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg, P, Se and Zn) in the hair of Japanese were examined in relation to those in internal organs (cerebrum, cerebellum, heart, spleen, liver, kidney and rib). No significantly positive correlation was found between elemental concentration in hair and that in internal organ. This result indicates the restricted use of hair as a medium for the estimation of nutritional status of the essential elements examined in the present study, at least on an individual basis. The correlations between the concentrations in organs are also presented.  相似文献

Photoluminescence depending on nitrogen concentration was investigated using anatase-type TiO2 prepared by the calcination of a mixture of titanyl sulfate hydrate and urea. The substitutional ratio (x) of nitrogen in TiO2 was successfully varied from 0.004 to 0.022 by changing the molar ratio of the mixture. The absorbance at 380–560 nm due to the formation of mid-gap states was proportional to the substitutional ratio of nitrogen controlled by the preparation conditions. In contrast, the fluorescent intensity at 382 nm originating from the band-to-band transition monotonically decreased with an increase in the substitutional ratio with an expansion of the anatase lattice. On the other hand, the maximum intensity of photoluminescence at 560 nm excited at 350 nm, which could be associated with the transition from the conduction band to the mid-gap states, was observed at x = 0.01. The optimal substitutional ratio for the emission was almost agreed with that for the photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue and acetaldehyde under visible-light illumination. The photoluminescence was fundamentally determined by the balance between photoexcitation originating from a sufficient number of mid-gap states and deactivation of excited electrons and holes due to lattice distortion or defective states induced with the nitrogen doping.  相似文献

Although less cytotoxic, the new platinum complex [meso-1,2-bis(2,6-difluoro-4-hydroxyphenyl)-ethylenediamine]sulfatopl atinum (II) (2) is equipotent to cisplatin (1) in the oestrogen-dependent MXT mammary tumour of the mouse. As this may be due to oestrogen level-lowering properties, we compared the effect of 1 and 2 on steroidogenesis in the rat. A single dose of 1 and 2 (20 mumol/kg s.c.) decreased plasma testosterone level in male rats by 90% (1, day 3) and 80% (2, day 7). Luteinizing hormone level remained unchanged in intact and in ovariectomized rats. The activities of the following testicular enzymes were decreased (day 7): cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme (1: 33%; 2: 36%), 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/delta 4,delta 5-isomerase (1: 31%; 2: 48%) and 17 alpha-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase (1: 21%; 2: 15%). Testicular microsomal cytochrome P450 content was also diminished (1: 60%; 2: 49%, day 7). Corticosterone level in plasma and biosynthesis in adrenal explants was not affected, indicating the selectivity of action at the gonadal level. In vitro, neither 1 nor 2 (2 and 20 microM) influenced binding of human chorionic gonadotropin to testis interstitial cells during an observation period up to 21 h. These results suggest that 1 and 2 act at the gonadal level by inhibiting the expression of the steroidogenic enzymes. They do not, however, inactivate the luteinizing hormone receptor.  相似文献

We previously purified a nuclear localization signal binding protein, NBP60, from rat liver (1993, J. Biochem. 113, 308-313). In this study, the subcellular localization of NBP60 was examined using anti-NBP60. Most NBP60 was found to be localized in the nuclear envelope fraction of rat liver obtained on cell fractionation followed by immunoblotting. Staining of the nuclei of cultured cells by the antibody was observed on immunofluorescence microscopy. NBP60 was widely detected in rat nuclear fractions prepared from other tissues and also in nuclei of cultured cells derived from other species. It was shown by immunoelectron microscopy that most NBP60 is present in the nuclear envelope and at least some of that is present on nuclear pore complexes. Although NBP60 was localized in the nuclear envelope in interphase cells, it diffused into the cytoplasm in the mitotic phase. The purified NBP60 was highly phosphorylated by a cdc2 mitotic kinase, whereas nuclear pore proteins p144, p62, p60, and p54 were not phosphorylated by the kinase directly. NBP60 was also phosphorylated by protein kinase A, calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II, and casein kinase II. The phosphorylation of NBP60 by cdc2 kinase and/or the other kinases may be related to the change in the protein's location during the mitotic phase.  相似文献

The effect of weighting circuit unidealities on the sensitivity degradation of diversity receivers is examined for synchronous and nonsynchronous detectors. A novel model is developed in which the weighting ratio for each polarization diversity receiver branch can be calculated using practical values. For synchronous detectors, it is shown analytically that the sensitivity degradation is relatively independent of the weighting ratio deviation from the optimum value. The same is also true for nonsynchronous detectors. Results of experiments on a 600 Mb/s single-filter frequency-shift keying (FSK) lightwave system, a 400 Mb/s continuous-phase FSK (CPFSK) lightwave system, and an amplitude-shift keying (ASK) synchronous detection network simulated with a 600 Mb/s baseband system generally support the theoretical results  相似文献
