The paralytic shellfish poison (PSP)-producing dinoflagellate Gymnodinium catenatum (Gc) was fed to the short-necked clam Tapes japonica, and the accumulation, transformation and elimination profiles of PSP were investigated by means of high-performance liquid chromatography with postcolumn fluorescence derivatization (HPLC-FLD). The short-necked clams ingested most of the Gc cells (4 x 10(6) cells) supplied as a bolus at the beginning of the experiment, and accumulated a maximal amount of toxin (181 nmol/10 clams) after 12 hr. The rate of toxin accumulation at that time was 16%, which rapidly decreased thereafter. During the rearing period, a variation in toxin composition, derived presumably from the transformation of toxin analogues in the clams, was observed, including a reversal of the ratio of C2 to C1, and the appearance of carbamate (gonyautoxin (GTX) 2, 3) and decarbamoyl (dc) derivatives (decarbamoylsaxitoxin (dcSTX) and dcGTX2, 3), which were undetectable in Gc cells. The total amount of toxin contained in clams and residue (remaining Gc cells and/or excrement in the rearing tank) gradually declined, and only about 1% of the supplied toxin was detected at the end of the experiment. 相似文献

Molecular characterization of antibiotic-resistant salmonella isolates from retail meat from markets in northern Vietnam 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A total of 118 Salmonella isolates were detected from 283 retail meat samples (135 pork and 148 chicken meat) purchased at retail markets in Northern Vietnam. Thirteen serovars, including Infantis, Anatum, Rissen, Reading, Emek, Typhimurium, Blockley, London, Newport, Derby, Weltevreden, Albany, and Hadar, were determined. Resistance to tetracycline (54.2%), sulfonamides (52.5%), streptomycin (41.5%), trimethoprim (36.4%), chloramphenicol (35.6%), and ampicillin (33.1%) was commonly seen in the Salmonella isolates. Fourteen [bla(TEM), bla(OXA-1), bla(PSE-1), aadA1, sul1, tetA, tetB, tetG, cmlA1, floR, dfrA1, dfrA12, aac(3)-IV, and aphA1-1AB ] of 17 resistance genes were detected from the isolates demonstrating resistance. Genes for plasmid-mediated quinolone resistance, such as qnrA, qnrB, qnrS, qepA, and acc(6')-1b-cr, were not detected in 23 quinoloneresistant isolates. The substitution TCC to TTC at codon 83 of gyrA was found in the 18 quinolone-resistant isolates. The data revealed that resistant Salmonella strains were widely distributed in Northern Vietnam via the food chain and that they might contain multiple genes specifying identical resistance phenotypes. Thus, further studies are necessary to clarify the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in Salmonella strains and their spread in the livestock market. 相似文献

Lignin gasification in supercritical water over charcoal supported ruthenium trivalent salts was studied using a batch reactor
at 673 K. Ruthenium (III) nitrosyl nitrate on charcoal (Ru(NO)(NO3)3/C) was more active than ruthenium (III) chloride on charcoal (RuCl3/C) for the gasification reaction. EXAFS analysis revealed that ruthenium metal particles were formed in both RuCl3/C and Ru(NO)(NO3)3/C catalysts during the lignin gasification and that the size of ruthenium metal in Ru(NO)(NO3)3/C was smaller than that in RuCl3/C. Rheological properties in a molten state are studied extensively for poly(3‐hydroxybutyrate‐co‐3‐hydroxyvalerate), PHB‐HV, with a small amount of crosslinked poly(epichlorohydrin), PECH, having low density of crosslink points. It is found that adding 2 wt % of xPECH greatly enhances the melt elasticity of PHB‐HV, one of the serious defects of microbial PHB, whereas it has no effect on the shear viscosity. Bulk glass having a calcium-mica composition (Ca0.5Mg3AlSi3O10F2) is homogeneous glass. The crystallization mechanism of the mica is surface crystallization and transparency is lost completely when crystallization occurs on the surface. In this study, by decreasing SiO2 and increasing CaO and Al2O3 from the chemical composition of Ca0.5Mg3AlSi3O10F2, and moreover by replacing a small amount of K2O instead of CaO, the phase separation appears in the glasses. Because of this phase separation, the mica begins to be crystallized not only on the surface but also in the bulk at lower temperatures. Consequently, the novel transparent machinable mica glass-ceramic can be obtained by heating the glasses having the chemical composition of Ca0.6Mg3Al1.2Si2.8O10F2 and K0.01Ca0.595Mg3Al1.2Si2.8O10F2. As a larger amount of calcium-mica is separated, the bending strength decreases and the fracture toughness increases. Furthermore, by replacing K+ ion instead of Ca2+ ion in the interlayer of calcium-mica, the interlayer bonding strength becomes high, resulting in the increase of the bending strength. 相似文献

The effect of particle agglomeration on sintering has been studied by slipcasting suspensions with pH values ranging from 2 to 11. The rate of densification has been found to depend on the degree of agglomeration. Complete dispersion of alumina primary particles has not been attained through adjustment of pH of suspensions, and agglomerates also remained in the best-dispersed suspension. Elimination of the agglomerates by sedimentation lowered the densification temperature of slip-cast compacts. The grain size-density curve is a function of temperature. A method to determine direct‐ and quadrature‐axis inductances of permanent magnet synchronous motors

The equivalent circuit constants of permanent magnet synchronous motors are needed in the calculation of operation characteristics, construction of a control system, etc. These constants can be computed from the data on structural form and materials. However, measurements are necessary to obtain highly precise values. Methods for measurement of the d‐ and q‐axis inductances can be roughly divided into rotational and standstill methods. The standstill methods have the advantage that they are easy to carry out. However, it is difficult to consider magnetic saturation and distortion of the change in the armature winding inductance. The accuracy of the standstill method can be improved if these effects can be readily taken into account. This paper describes a standstill method for measuring accurate d‐ and q‐axis synchronous inductances of permanent magnet synchronous motors. By utilizing the fact that the EMF interference terms in the motor voltage equation considering the distortion of the inductance change are equal to zero when the rotor is in a specific position, the proposed method determines the inductances considering both magnetic saturation and inductance distortion effects from simple off‐line standstill testing. In addition, this method is capable of taking cross‐magnetic saturation into account when used with the necessary testing equipment. The proposed method was implemented on a 0.4‐kW interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with concentrated stator winding. Micafungin (FK463), a novel water-soluble echinocandin-like lipopeptide, exerted fungicidal action toward growing cells of Candida albicans at concentrations of 0.1 microg ml(-1) or above. The drug at these levels induced osmotically fragile cells and the resulting fungicidal effect was partially reversed when cultures were grown in the presence of an osmotic stabilizer. Candida cells incubated with fungicidal concentrations of micafungin gradually increased in size and/or became deformed. An electron microscopic study of such micafungin-treated cells revealed morphological alterations in the cell wall; deformation in contour, abnormal septum formation and decrease in thickness of the intermediate layer of the cell wall were prominent. In addition, the structure of cell membranes as well as of membranous cytoplasmic organelles was slightly impaired. These data suggest that micafungin principally affects the normal formation of the cell wall in growing Candida cells. 相似文献
