The reverse (-) transformation in 304 stainless steel (SS) has been studied by magnetic measurements. Specimens rolled 15 to 55% reduction in thickness were annealed at various temperatures and times. After annealing at temperatures between 300–;600°C for 5 min the saturation magnetization values increased when compared to the saturation magnetization values after rolling. Specimens rolled to 40 to 55% reduction after annealing at 500°C showed the highest saturation magnetization. Saturation magnetization sharply decreases at annealing temperature above 625°C which indicates the start of reverse (-) transformation. The decrease in saturation magnetization is rapid for annealing time from 5 to 40 min, whereas, the decrease in saturation magnetization is relatively low for annealing time above 40 min. The hardness values after reverse (-) transformation at temperatures between 300–;600°C is slightly greater attributed to the increase in martensite and above this temperature the hardness dropped substantially as a result of recovery and recrystallization. The results show that there is a decrease in coercive force at temperatures between 300–;500°C and may be due to an increase in martensite phase. A further decrease in coercive force at temperature between 500 and 625°C may be attributed to the sweeping out of some dislocation from the martensite phase. This is followed by a sharp increase in coercive force at temperature up to 800°C and is attributed to a shape magnetic anisotropy effect. At temperatures between 800–;900°C a rapid decreased in coercive force occurs. At temperatures between 900–;1100°C the decrease in coercive force is not so sharp dominant. The decrease in coercive force above 800°C corresponds to softening of the stainless steel due to recrystallization. From the changes in the values of saturation magnetization the A s temperature is estimated to be between 625–;650°C, and the A f to be between 900–;950°C.  相似文献

Strong evidence indicates that virions of mammalian reoviruses undergo proteolytic processing by acid-dependent cellular proteinases as an essential step in productive infection. Proteolytic processing takes the form of a series of cleavages of outer-capsid proteins final sigma3 and mu1/mu1C. Previous studies showed an effect of both NH4Cl and E-64 on these cleavages, indicating that one or more of the acid-dependent cysteine proteinases in mammalian cells (cathepsins B and L, for example) is required; however, these studies did not address whether acid-dependent aspartic proteinases in those cells (cathepsin D, for example) may also be required. To determine the role of aspartic proteinases in reovirus entry, studies with pepstatin A, a specific inhibitor of aspartic proteinases, were performed. The results showed that pepstatin A neither blocks nor slows reovirus infection of L or MDCK cells. Experiments using ribonuclease A and other proteins as cleavable substrates showed that cathepsin-D-like proteinases from these cells are inhibited within the tested range of pepstatin A concentrations both in vitro and within living cells. In other experiments, virion-bound final sigma3 protein was shown to be a poor substrate for cleavage by cathepsin D in vitro, consistent with the findings with inhibitors. In sum, the data indicate that cathepsin-D-like aspartic proteinases provide little or no activity toward proteolytic events required for infection of L or MDCK cells with reovirus virions.  相似文献

Lipocalin-type prostaglandin D2 synthase is the enzyme responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandin D2, a major prostaglandin in the central nervous system. We analysed the effects of thyroid hormone deprivation on prostaglandin D2 synthase gene expression in the developing rat brain. By in situ hybridization, the strongest prostaglandin D2 synthase mRNA signal was detected in the leptomeninges and choroid plexus. The signal was greatly reduced in the cerebellar interlaminar meninges of hypothyroid rats aged 15 and 25 days. Immunohistochemical studies defined changes in the location of the prostaglandin D2 synthase protein. In control but not in hypothyroid animals, Cajal-Retzius neurons of cortical layer I, and pyramidal cortical plate neurons were intensely stained on postnatal day 5. Conversely, prostaglandin D2 synthase protein levels were higher in neurons of the CA1 and CA3 regions and the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus of hypothyroid animals on postnatal days 5, 15 and 25, and also in subplate neurons on postnatal days 15 and 25. In agreement with the in situ hybridization and northern blotting data, the major difference was found in the cerebellar interlaminar meninges of hypothyroid animals, where the protein was clearly down-regulated on postnatal days 15 and 25. These results show that hypothyroidism causes both age- and region-specific alterations in the expression and location of the prostaglandin D2 synthase during postnatal brain development, probably reflecting a cell-specific regulatory effect of thyroid hormone on the prostaglandin D2 synthase.  相似文献

A high-speed rotational atherectomy was performed followed by adjunct directional atherectomy in 10 patients with symptomatic coronary artery disease and calcified target lesions and the results were evaluated using quantitative coronary arteriography and intravascular ultrasound. Target lesion calcium is common in obstructive coronary artery disease. High-speed rotational coronary atherectomy preferentially abrades noncompliant atherosclerotic plaque material, especially calcium, but often requires adjunct balloon angioplasty to achieve optimal lumen dimensions. Directional coronary atherectomy has limited efficacy in heavily calcified plaque; usually, it is a definitive primary procedure in large arteries with noncalcified target lesions. Neither of these devices alone is effective in treating calcified target lesions in large coronary arteries. Before intervention, after rotational and adjunct directional atherectomy, these measurements were obtained: quantitative coronary arteriographic measurements of minimal lumen diameter and percent diameter stenosis and intravascular ultrasound measurements of external elastic membrane, lumen, and plaque+media cross-sectional areas; percent cross-sectional narrowing; minimal lumen diameter; and target-lesion arc of calcium. With use of quantitative coronary arteriography, the preintervention minimal lumen diameter measured 0.7 +/- 0.4 mm, increased to 1.5 +/- 0.5 mm after rotational atherectomy (p = 0.0013) and to 2.5 +/- 0.3 mm after adjunct directional atherectomy (p < 0.001). The preintervention percent diameter stenosis measured 78 +/- 15%, decreased to 50 +/- 17% after rotational atherectomy (p = 0.0011), and to 17 +/- 11% (p < 0.001) after adjunct directional coronary atherectomy.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

1. Sympathetic neurotransmission and noradrenaline content of the tail artery of Donryu rats fed for 2 months with a cholesterol-supplemented diet enriched with 4% cholesterol, 1% cholic acid, 0.5% thiouracil (CCT), were examined. 2. Total serum cholesterol level of CCT fed rats (7.05 +/- 1.77 mg ml(-1), n = 8) was significantly greater than lab-chow fed controls (2.58 +/- 0.32 mg ml(-1), n = 8). Low density lipoprotein level was also significantly increased in CCT-fed (1.79 +/- 0.26 mg ml(-1), n = 8) compared with control fed rats (1.35 +/- 0.25 mg ml(-1), n = 8) but plasma levels of triglyceride and high density lipoproteins did not differ significantly between the two groups. 3. Contractile responses of the arterial rings to transmural nerve stimulation (65 V, 0.1 ms, 4-64 Hz, 1 s), were markedly attenuated in the CCT fed animals compared with the controls. This reduction involved the noradrenergic rather than purinergic component of sympathetic transmission. 4. Vasoconstrictor responses to exogenous noradrenaline (0.01-300 microM) and adenosine 5'-triphosphate (0.3-1000 microM) were unaffected by CCT diet, indicating prejunctional alteration of sympathetic neurotransmission during CCT-induced hyperlipidaemia. 5. The noradrenaline content of the tail arteries of CCT fed animals (2.64 +/- 0.36 ng mg(-1), n = 6) was significantly lower than that of controls (3.82 +/- 0.32 ng mg(-1), n = 6). 6. These findings show that chronic treatment of Donryu rats with a cholesterol-supplemented diet led to altered levels of circulating lipid fractions accompanied by attenuated sympathetic noradrenergic neurotransmission and reduced noradrenaline content of the rat tail artery.  相似文献
