Nonlinear Mohr Envelopes Based on Triaxial Data   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A substantial amount of experimental evidence suggests that Mohr envelopes of many soils are not linear, particularly in the range of small normal stresses. This departure from linearity is significant for slope stability calculations since for a wide range of practical stability problems, critical slip surfaces are shallow and normal stresses acting on such surfaces are small. The present work presents a procedure for estimating parameters of the Mohr form of Hoek and Brown empirical failure criterion, based on triaxial data. This nonlinear Mohr envelope provides significantly better representation of experimental information than the Mohr–Coulomb criterion in cases when the data set includes tests at small enough normal stress. Application of the estimation procedure to published data sets shows that effective cohesive strength of most soils is close to zero, and Mohr envelopes are continuous at the tensile strength limit.  相似文献

The heavy-chain and kappa light-chain variable region genes of an antizearalenone hybridoma cell line (2G3-6E3-2E2) were isolated by PCR and joined by a DNA linker encoding peptide (Gly4Ser)3 as a single-chain Fv (scFv) DNA fragment. The scFv DNA fragment was cloned into a phagemid (pCANTAB5E) and expressed as a fusion protein with E tag and phage M13 p3 in Escherichia coli TG1. In the presence of helper phage M13K07, the scFv fusion protein was displayed on the surfaces of recombinant phages. High-affinity scFv phages were enriched through affinity selection in microtiter wells coated with zearalenone-ovalbumin conjugate. The selected recombinant phages were used to infect E. coli HB2151 for the production of soluble scFv antibodies. One selected clone (pQY1.5) in HB2151 secreted a soluble scFv antibody (QY1.5) with a high zearalenone-binding affinity (concentration required for 50% inhibition of binding, 14 ng/ml), similar to that of parent monoclonal antibody in a competitive indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. However, scFv QY1.5 exhibited higher cross-reactivity with zearalenone analogs and had greater sensitivity to methanol destabilization than the parent monoclonal antibody did. Nucleotide sequence analyses revealed that the light-chain portion of scFv QY1.5 had a nucleotide sequence identity of 97% to a mouse germ line gene VK23.32 in mouse kappa light-chain variable region subgroup V, whereas the heavy-chain nucleotide sequence was classified as mouse heavy-chain subgroup III (D) but without any closely related members having highly homologous complementarity-determining region sequences. The potential of soluble scFv QY1.5 for routine screening of zearalenone and its analogs was demonstrated with zearalenone-spiked corn extracts.  相似文献

A Database and Evaluation Methodology for Optical Flow   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
The quantitative evaluation of optical flow algorithms by Barron et al. (1994) led to significant advances in performance. The challenges for optical flow algorithms today go beyond the datasets and evaluation methods proposed in that paper. Instead, they center on problems associated with complex natural scenes, including nonrigid motion, real sensor noise, and motion discontinuities. We propose a new set of benchmarks and evaluation methods for the next generation of optical flow algorithms. To that end, we contribute four types of data to test different aspects of optical flow algorithms: (1) sequences with nonrigid motion where the ground-truth flow is determined by tracking hidden fluorescent texture, (2) realistic synthetic sequences, (3) high frame-rate video used to study interpolation error, and (4) modified stereo sequences of static scenes. In addition to the average angular error used by Barron et al., we compute the absolute flow endpoint error, measures for frame interpolation error, improved statistics, and results at motion discontinuities and in textureless regions. In October 2007, we published the performance of several well-known methods on a preliminary version of our data to establish the current state of the art. We also made the data freely available on the web at . Subsequently a number of researchers have uploaded their results to our website and published papers using the data. A significant improvement in performance has already been achieved. In this paper we analyze the results obtained to date and draw a large number of conclusions from them.  相似文献

Deterministic global optimization with interval analysis involves using interval enclosures for ranges of the constraints, objective, and gradient to reject infeasible regions, regions without global optima, and regions without critical points; using interval Newton methods to converge on optimum-containing regions and to verify global optima.There are certain problems for which interval dependency leads to overestimation in the enclosures of the individual components, causing the optimization search to become prohibitively inefficient. As Hansen has observed earlier, in other problems, there is no overestimation in the individual components, but overestimation is introduced in the preconditioning in the interval Newton method.We examine these issues for a particular nonlinear systems problem that, to date, has defied numerical solution. To reduce overestimation, we use Taylor models. The Taylor models sometimes reduce individual overestimation but, consistent with Hansen's observations, especially reduce the overestimation due to preconditioning. From numerical experiments, we conclude that, in certain instances, Taylor models can greatly reduce both the number of subregions necessary to complete an exhaustive search and the total computational effort.  相似文献

The effect of the presence of unreacted PbI2 on the perovskite solar cells efficiency is reported. N,N‐Dimethylformamide vapor treatment is introduced to study the influence of complete conversion to a power conversion efficiency of the device. It is discovered that the optimized morphology of the PbI2 under layer is essential to form a dense perovskite layer preventing recombination by direct contact between TiO2 and a hole transporting layer, and to increase the charge collection efficiency. The present findings provide an insight into the morphology and growth mechanism of perovskite layer, the correlation between the device performance, and the film deposition process.  相似文献

The microstructure of the eutectic alloy Fe30Ni20Mn35Al15 (in at.%) was modified by cooling at different rates from 1623 K, i.e., above the eutectic temperature. The lamellar spacing decreased with increasing cooling rate, and in water-quenched specimens lamellae widths of ~100 nm were obtained. The orientation relationship between the fcc and B2 lamellae was found to be sensitive to the cooling rate. Airworthiness certification is required when bonded repairs are made to primary composite structure in situations where damage has reduced or has the potential to reduce residual strength to below the design ultimate strength. Generally, certification of bonded primary structure poses many difficulties. As most repairs are one-off events meeting these certification requirements is especially challenging since demonstration by testing will generally not be possible or cost-effective. This paper discusses options for addressing the two key issues relating to certification: (a) how to validate initial and enduring bond strength of adhesive bonds, mainly given the inability of conventional non-destructive inspection to provide this assurance and (b) how to develop acceptable generic design allowables for bonded repairs which represent actual failure modes – especially for cyclic loading, since validation by testing of simulated repairs will generally be infeasible. It is concluded that proof testing of bonded repair coupons is a promising approach for validating bond strength and fatigue testing of representative bond joint specimen can provide generic allowables for patch design. For hidden structure or very high value repairs structural health monitoring of repairs based on a strain-transfer approach offers considerable promise.  相似文献
