This article sets out to evaluate the effect of solvent content in the extractive section on the separation efficiency and energy consumption of extractive distillation columns. Contrary to the classical approach, the proposed approach enables a simultaneous evaluation of the effect of the major decision variables (reflux ratio, solvent flow rate, and the number of stages of the extractive section [NSE]). The procedure allows calculating the minimum solvent flow rate for the separation and the minimum specific energy consumption. The results show that the minimum specific energy consumption is obtained for the minimum reflux ratio and not for the minimum solvent flow rate. Moreover, the results show that it is not always the case that a larger NSE results in lower energy consumption. Due to its industrial importance, the dehydration of aqueous mixtures of ethanol using ethylene glycol as solvent has been chosen as a case study.  相似文献

Product formulations for industrial processes are typically developed at laboratory scale. However, the mixing conditions are not easily mimicked in the laboratory. A rotational device is proposed in this study as a fast laboratory-scale formulation development, which enables mimicking the mixing conditions in the industrial process. The geometrical configurations of the rotational device are from rheometry devices (plate-plate and cone-plate). The main advantages of this method are the small amounts of raw materials and shorter testing times. This methodology is applied to an industrial case study, the reaction injection molding (RIM) process. The mixing length scales evolution in the rotational rheometer were matched to those in RIM machines. The main novelty of this study is the introduction of a protocol that bridges the processing conditions at laboratory using small amounts of raw materials to high throughput continuous flow reactors.  相似文献

Si3N4ceramics were fabricated by tape casting of a raw-powder slurry seeded with three types of rodlike β-Si3N4particles. The effects of seed size on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the sintered specimens were investigated. All the seeded and tape-cast silicon nitrides presented an anisotropic microstructure, where the elongated grains grown from seeds were preferentially oriented parallel to the casting direction. The orientation degree of these grains, f 0, was affected by seed size, and small-seed addition led to the highest f 0value. This material exhibited high bending strength (∼1.4 GPa) and high fracture toughness (∼12 MPa.m1/2) in the direction normal to the grain alignment, which were attributed to the highly anisotropic and fine microstructure.  相似文献

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stem cells derived from adult stem cells. Primary MSCs can be obtained from diverse sources, including bone marrow, adipose tissue, and umbilical cord blood. Recently, MSCs have been recognized as therapeutic agents for skin regeneration and rejuvenation. The skin can be damaged by wounds, caused by cutting or breaking of the tissue, and burns. Moreover, skin aging is a process that occurs naturally but can be worsened by environmental pollution, exposure to ultraviolet radiation, alcohol consumption, tobacco use, and undernourishment. MSCs have healing capacities that can be applied in damaged and aged skin. In skin regeneration, MSCs increase cell proliferation and neovascularization, and decrease inflammation in skin injury lesions. In skin rejuvenation, MSCs lead to production of collagen and elastic fibers, inhibition of metalloproteinase activation, and promote protection from ultraviolet radiation-induced senescence. In this review, we focus on how MSCs and MSC-derived molecules improve diseased and aged skin. Additionally, we emphasize that induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived MSCs are potentially advanced MSCs, which are suitable for cell therapy.  相似文献

SUMMARY Poly(amide-ester)s, poly(amide-carbonate)s and poly(amide-thiocarbonate)s derived from the diphenols-amides N-(2,6-dibromo-4-nitrophenyl)-4,4-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-pentanamide (I) and N-(2,6-diiodo-4-nitrophenyl)-4,4-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)-pentanamide (II) and terephthaloyl chloride (a), isophthaloyl chloride (b), and adipoyl chloride (c), and phosgene (d) and thiophosgene (e) respectively, have been synthesized under phase transfer conditions using several quaternary ammonium salts as phase transfer catalysts. Benzyltriethylammonium chloride (BTEAC) was effective in practically all cases due to the hydrophilicity of this catalyst. Poly(amido-ester)s derived from II and aromatic diacids were insoluble in all the organic solvents, and the effectivity of the process was evaluated by the increase of the yields with respect to the essays without catalysts. Reactivity of oxide scale on Fe-Cr alloy with Na-containing gases was examined to estimate the stability against sodium (Na): vapors of NaCl and Na2SO4 exposures with air flow at 1073 K. The identified reaction phases were Cr-Mn spinel, Cr2O3, and alloy from the X-ray diffraction of surface with no Na-reaction products. However, the protective oxide scales (Mn-Cr spinel and Cr2O3 layers) on the Fe-Cr alloy were partially decomposed by reacting with Na to form Na-compounds inside the oxide scale/alloy interfaces. In some parts, anomalous oxide scales were found around the oxide scale/Fe-Cr alloy interfaces, with forming Na-rich compounds: the compounds were distributed inner parts of oxide scales around oxide scale/alloy interfaces. The stability of oxide scales and degradation were discussed based on the observed distribution of elements.  相似文献

Pigmentation of murine cardiac tricuspid valve leaflet is associated with melanocyte concentration, which affects its stiffness. Owing to its biological and viscoelastic nature, estimation of the in situ stiffness measurement becomes a challenging task. Therefore, quasi-static and nanodynamic mechanical analysis of the leaflets of the mouse tricuspid valve is performed in the current work. The mechanical properties along the leaflet vary with the degree of pigmentation. Pigmented regions of the valve leaflet that contain melanocytes displayed higher storage modulus (7–10 GPa) than non-pigmented areas (2.5–4 GPa). These results suggest that the presence of melanocytes affects the viscoelastic properties of the mouse atrioventricular valves and are important for their proper functioning in the organism.  相似文献

This work studies the heat influence in cutting tools considering the variation of the coating thickness and the heat flux. K10 and diamond tools substrate with TiN and Al2O3 coatings were used. The numerical methodology utilizes the ANSYS® CFX software. Boundary conditions and constant thermo physical properties of the solids involved in the numerical analysis are known. To validate the proposed methodology an experiment is used. The TiN and Al2O3 coatings did not show satisfying results during a continuous cutting process. It showed a slight reduction in the heat flux for the 10 (µm) TiN and Al2O3 coatings.  相似文献

The hippocampus is involved in fear conditioning, although the molecular events underlying this function are still under investigation. The authors analyzed the expression of the Zenk proto-oncogene product within the pigeon (Columba livia) hippocampus after training with a classical aversive conditioning protocol using tone-shock associations. Control groups were trained with shock or tone alone or were only exposed to the experimental chamber and manipulated. Experimental pigeons showed significant increases of Zenk expression in the ventromedial region of the hippocampus, whereas both the experimental and shock groups had increased Zenk expression in the dorsal region. The expression of Zenk in specific neuronal populations within the pigeon hippocampus may be indicative of plasticity-associated aversive classical conditioning.
