A nested taper structure in InGaAsP/InP, using only horizontally tapered waveguides, transforms the fundamental mode of an integrated waveguide to the mode profile of a singlemode fibre. Taper tips below 300 nm width have been achieved with standard technology. Very first measurement results show an insertion loss of only 4 dB for a 1 mm long device without any antireflective coating or immersion fluid.<>  相似文献

Successful interface engineering requires compositional and electronic material characterization as a prerequisite for understanding and intentionally generating interfaces in photovoltaic devices. The paper gives an overview with several examples, all referring to Cu(In,Ga)(S,Se)2 (“CIGSSe”)-based solar cells, with an emphasis on characterization using highly specialized methods, such as elastic recoil detection analysis, X-ray emission spectroscopy and photoelectron spectroscopy using synchrotron and ultraviolet light for excitation, inverse photoemission spectroscopy and Kelvin probe force microscopy. First, the determination of the depth profile of the band gap energy Eg in the absorber layer is demonstrated. The modification of Eg towards both interfaces is discussed in terms of beneficial electronic effects. Next, the interface between absorber and buffer layers with alternative and promising non-toxic materials is considered. Between CIGSSe and a ZnSe buffer deposited by the metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) method a buried ZnS interface was found. For a Zn(O,OH) buffer processed with an ion layer gas reaction (ILGAR) the correlation of surface composition, valence band maximum and efficiency of the resulting solar cell is shown. In addition, another approach is considered where a ZnMgO window layer is sputtered directly on the absorber omitting any buffer layer. The determination of the potential distribution at the ZnMgO/CIGSSe interface supports the understanding of this new and simpler way to get good cell performances even without any buffer. Finally, monolithically integrated solar modules without encapsulation were investigated before and after accelerated aging tests and changes at the interconnects were identified.  相似文献

A method for the fixation of colloids by an ion-layer-gas-reaction-“ILGAR”-oxide layer is presented. The embedding of CdS nano-particles in an ILGAR-ZnO/Zn(OH)2-matrix is confirmed by transmission electron micrographs (TEM); the composition of the layer surface is analyzed by X-ray photoelectron microscopy (XPS). When these particles are fixed by an ILGAR-oxide layer on top of a solar cell the observed absorption and fluorescing properties of CdS nano-particles offer the possibility to reduce the absorption loss in the window layer. This is shown for a Cu(In,Ga)(S,Se)2-“CIGSSe”-based solar cell with an additional top CdSparticle/ILGAR-ZrO2-layer as a first example. The improvement of the device performance is proven by J(V)-characteristics and the external quantum efficiency.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Lebensmittel, die im Emissionsbereich Chemischer Reinigungen gelagert bzw. verkauft werden, können erheblich mit Tetrachlorethen belastet sein. Hohe Tetrachlorethengehalte wurden sowohl in Lebensmittelproben aus über Chemischen Reinigungen gelegenen Wohnungen als auch in Proben aus dem Lebensmitteleinzelhandel festgestellt. Lebensmittel mit hohem Fettgehalt wiesen stets die höchsten Kontaminationen auf.
Contamination of foodstuffs by emissions from dry cleaning units
Summary Tetrachloroethene (perchloroethylene) from dry-cleaning units may contaminate adjacent flats in the same building. Increased concentrations of tetrachloroethene have been found in foodstuffs in homes situated above dry cleaning units and in foodstuffs from groceries located neat drycleaning units. The concentrations were extremely high in foods rich in fat.

A new method of estimating intracranial decompensation in man is described. An on-line computer system is connected to an intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring system to compute regression plots of mean ICP vs standard deviation; standard deviation is used as a measure of ICP instability. Two zones with distinctly different slopes are a characteristic feature of these plots. It is thought that the changes of slope signify intracranial decompensation.  相似文献

Acute pancreatitis was experimentally produced in dogs to study the effect of the disease on glucose tolerance. The k value (glucose disappearance coefficient measured in percentage decrease of glucose/min) calculated from the high-dose intravenous glucose-tolerance test was used to evaluate the glucose tolerance of each dog. Thirty dogs were allotted to 3 groups of 10 dogs each as follows: group I--nonsurgical control dogs; group II--surgical control dogs; and group III--pancreatitis-affected dogs. To increase their susceptibility to diabetes, 50% partial pancreatectomies and ductal catheterizations were performed on group II and III dogs. Saline solution was infused into the ductal systems of group II dogs, and staphylococcal alphatoxin was infused into the ductal systems of group III dogs to produce pancreatitis. The results indicated that (1) high-dose intravenous glucose-tolerance test was an effective tool for determining decreased glucose tolerance in dogs; (2) glucose tolerance of group III dogs was markedly decreased compared with that of group I and II dogs; (3) staphylococcal alpha-toxin produced signs of moderately severe pancreatitis; and (4) 50% partial pancreatectomy and saline solution infusion produced clinical and clinicopathologic signs of mild pancreatitis. To determine if a simplified k value (calculated using 2 or 3 blood samples) could closely approximate the standard k value (calculated using 6 blood samples), simplified k values were derived from the 5- and 60-minute blood sample values. These values closely approximated the standard k values, indicating the simplified value may be used in the clinical situation. The standard k value, however, is preferred for investigative work.  相似文献

After bilateral lesion of the posterior lateral thalamic nucleus in rats, studies been made of motor-feeding reflexes to light stimuli. Using spatial preference technique, it was shown that lesion of this nucleus (representing a part of the retino-tecto-thalamo-cortical system) disturbs differentiation of spatially uncoupled visual stimuli. These data confirm the idea on telencephalization of ancient retino-tectal part of the visual system in evolution and indicate that this part is involved into the analysis of spatial relationships.  相似文献

Experiments were undertaken in our laboratory to establish relationships between flow parameters calculated from implanted ultrasonic cuff signals and those obtained with a transcutaneous probe. Analog signals were received from crystals surgically implanted on the right carotid, right femoral, and abdominal aorta of a mature male beagle dog. Near these locations, transcutaneous measurements were made using a prescribed technique. From these ultrasonic signals, the following time dependent flow parameters were calculated: spatial velocities, velocity profiles, diameters, flows, and velocity frequency distributions. Using these measurements, a comparison between the implanted cuff and transcutaneous probe was made. In addition to high reproductibility, results confirm a strong correlation between the two techniques; consequently, the validity of the less traumatic transcutaneous method is substantiated.  相似文献
